The board takes some getting used to but it really engages your core and left my abs (and legs) feeling worked the day after! The studio offers a few varieties of classes with a spectrum of foci from more weights to more cardio. The Obsidian Strong Class was my favorite. It used a combination of barbell weights and the board to test your balance and fatigue your muscles. Great challenge. Not to mention, the staff at Obsidian is incredibly friendly as well as the patrons. Everyone is willing to help you set up and just seem happy all around to be part of a unique workout community.

I tried one Obsidian II class and didn't love it. That was the only time I felt out of place, like I'd wandered into a class full of Lululemon dolls. I didn't get a lot of direction or friendly advice since I was obviously new to it. I never really felt like I was a part of their "community," although at least it looked like they had one. I also think that their front desk workers are a bit disorganized/not as well trained as I would have liked. I had girls act confused several times when I went in to have my class pass punched (like they couldn't figure it out), and then I had one girl accuse me of lying and said I already went to an Obsidian class (which was obviously a computer glitch) when I told her I was 100% sure I never did. I was really upset because she was so snotty to me, but luckily one of the owners intervened and said I could take the class anyway. Regardless of my satisfaction with the Body Combat classes, that last experience left a bad taste in my mouth about DASH. I won't be returning (although I had thought about purchasing a membership) and probably wouldn't recommend it to friends. I've been to other places with great instructors and classes that treat their customers really well - I don't need to be in a place that would accuse me of lying and not acknowledge a computer glitch.

All of the trainers I've interacted have been nice however, I haven't had any sessions with them. I really like the equipment they have, a lot of variety and good quality stuff. The only thing I think they're lacking is a sled push area and a spot to do tire flips or sledge hammer hits on a tire. Other than that it's absolutely fantastic. The best thing by far is the hours. Being able to go whenever I want I really awesome. It's rarely busy and by busy I mean 2-4 people including myself in the whole gym. I've maybe waited once for a piece of equipment but that was more by choice because I didn't want to be rude and be too close to somebody. Overall it's a great place to workout and the atmosphere is solid.

Nothing has pushed me harder or been put more specific attention on the areas that I really wanted to work on more than having a personal trainer who really knows what they are doing. I've had sessions with several of the trainers at Fitness Together and they are all very knowledgeable and really care about my needs. They also give me nutrition counseling! It's like I'm getting two services for the price of one! I love the personal attention and private studios at Fitness Together. I will be a client for life!!

Outside was in the upper 60s the day I went. Not sure if it would be cooler than it was when it's 30 outside. The walk from the front desk to the courts I never would have found on my own. I didn't see any other signs that said what was what way besides the ones my group put up. Everything looked clean and taken care of. I didn't use the locker room or restrooms. They do have a bar attached that was a nice bonus. We only got drinks but they do have food as well. Next time I'll have to try some.

This place has been the exact same for as long as I can remember. We've been customers off and on for more than two decades, and a majority of the machines are still the same. The treads are worn on lots of equipment which can be a hazard, some labels are torn off and illegible, some seats are stained with spray tan, some cracking. We enjoy the classes that they offer as part of our membership. The trainers and class staff are inspiring, very helpful and friendly, supportive and kind. Unfortunately parts of the facility smell bad and it's inexcusable IMO. For example, that hallway passing the racquetball hall smells absolutely putrid. I have yet to see or detect that the berber (carpeting!!!) has been sanitized, shampooed, or replaced... Men sit between matches, pouring their sweat onto the carpet. Barf. That hallway has earned the moniker "stinky hall" for a reason. It truly smells sharp and foul. The fans in the weight room aren't sufficient for moving the stale air. Some days this summer, I've thought I was having hot flashes and feeling faint - come to find out, the room was nearly 80°! They don't seem to keep the thermostats maintained at reasonable temperatures. That's not acceptable. Upstairs, it's dreary AF. It feels tired. It looks the same as it did in 2003. Same dreary fluorescent lighting, too. Absolutely nothing updated on the walls. The locker rooms are generally kept up with lots of lockers for patrons. Unfortunately the wet area can get kinda gross. In the women's one, I've occasionally seen clumps of hair and bandaids left in the showers. I've gone into stalls only to find that the showers weren't working properly. Trickling low water pressure or non-adjustable scalding water!! Without the cover, the pool area is decent in the summer. The space feels dilapidated the rest of the year with that holey and aging cover. You can tell that kids are peeing in the pool so they counterbalance it by treating it with lots of chemicals. I've only gone to the pool once this spring, and haven't been back since I ended up with an itchy scabby chemical burn on my shins. :( I don't play on the tennis/pickleball courts, but they appear to be really snazzy. Seems that they're kept up and well maintained from the looks of them. Basketball court seems good too. The hallways to get to all these places are fluorescent lit and dreary. I wish they'd update their spaces to reflect the higher end clientele they're serving or trying to attract... They can write off the maintenance, so I don't agree with some of the replies left by management. They could make changes, they just don't seem to want to. Alas, I still go here because it's quiet and the equipment/benches/bars are usually open throughout the day, the people generally keep their eyes to themselves and most are respectful, versus the bustling "meat market" gyms like EōS and Vasa... They really need to refresh and clean up this place. Currently two stars.
