He went with Newman. Subsequently we had a hail storm and neighbors were advising us to get our roof checked out. Our roof was 20 years old. I wanted to be honest with the insurance company and not submit a claim unless Tyler from Newman,who came out to give us an estimate, was sure we needed a new roof and we suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear. Plus we had 2 houses. Well one needed a new roof and the other one likely has another couple of years left. As an aside, if you turn in a claim to your insurance company, even if it is denied, you risk higher premiums or cancelation. That is why it is important to have Newman Roofing spend time assessing. In our case, our roof was more wear and tear with minimal hail. Dan and his guys were on time, even early. Weather has consistently been in the mid 90's. I was worried. But Newman keeps them well supplied with hydration. 14 man crew meant lots of vehicles, even a dump truck but they were minimally disruptive to our neighbors. Furniture moved, netting put up to minimize construction mess on house and garden areas. And then they went to work. All I can say is WOW. I am so pleased. When they were finished, the cleaned up all the mess, including using a magnetized thing for nails in driveway, patio and grass. The yard, the patio, the driveway, the porches are SPOTLESS. Ace discovered that the prior roofer(2017) had failed to seal a gap between the shingles and the edge of the chimney. The roof that was replaced was two layers, and when it was replaced with one layer, that left an inch or so gap between the shingles and and chimney, which they failed to seal and also failed to install proper flashing so that water would drain away from the chimney. Ace repaired the issue and their price was very reasonable. Recently, I noticed paint cracking and dampness in a ceiling. I called the company that installed the roof-as it is nearing the end of the warranty. They sent someone who said he saw nothing wrong, and claimed they might need better ventilation. He said someone would call. No one did. I called Ace, he went up and saw the source of the problem, a bullet hole-likely there from someone's errant New Year's celebration. He fixed the issue within 15 minutes. Ace is responsive, and most important, he acts with integrity and his assessments are credible. Irrespective of 'warranties,' I trust him and will always call him first.

He agreed to "give it a shot" for 100.00, but could not make me any promises about the results. I figured that was fair, and worth the 100.00 risk. (before moving into a 900.00 diamond grinding process.) He did not get a SINGLE droplet removed. OK. We had an agreement. So, what is the issue?! Well, get ready folks! B4 he started the work he stepped onto my porch & spotted my elderly neighbor getting her mail. She is old enough to be his mother. He literally yelled at the top of his lungs, "Hey do you know this guy?!" (meaning me of course.) She yelled back, "Yes, he is our favorite neighbor!" He continued the yelling across the street and screamed, "Hey maam will you come over here?!" I started to freak out at how rude a man could be to ask an elderly woman to do this instead of walking over himself and wondered what the heck he wanted from her anyway! He remained firmly planted with his arms crossed and said, "Maam, I just want you to know we agreed on a price of 100.00 regardless of the outcome of my work." She just looked perplexed, confused and quite shocked. I told her very quietly and calmly I was sorry for his behavior and asked her to go ahead and go home. He went about his "1/2 arsed" efforts and did not remove a droplet. Of course I had the 100.00 check already written in my pocket. REMEMBER, this was after paying him in full while on my property for TWO prior vinyl siding jobs. Why would he call her over??!!! I just talked to her the other day about it, (since her grandson was pressure washing her home & it brought up the horrible memory of Paul Reed) and she said of course she remembered it very well but still had no clue what he wanted from her. I said, "Neither do I!!!" A court witness maybe in case I did not pay him?? Could he hope to have a court subpoena her for a 100.00 case? How absurd. If I were dishonest or a liar, I COULD have refused payment and said I gave him 100.00 cash and not paid him a cent. (of course, I am a man of my word and gave him the 100.00 check.) WHAT A JOKE OF A COMPANY. STAY AWAY. HE WILL TRY TO MAKE A FOOL OF YOU IN FRONT OF YOUR NEIGHBORS AND LACKS TRUST IN PEOPLE. EVEN PEOPLE WHO ALWAYS PAID WHILE ON SITE & IN FULL EVERY TIME IN THE PAST.
