I Hired Apco to put new siding on my house, it did not need it we really just wanted a color change…read moreand a new look, what a mistake! I am giving one star only because you must to leave a review. I told the salesman that I had extensive construction back ground and wanted to make sure the siding was installed correctly, he told me that there crews are so good they never have problems! I said I want to make sure the siding is left with proper room to expand when hot and shrink when cold, also nails are to be in the nail slots loosely so siding can move horizontally when expanding. I was told it woud take six weeks for them to start, at eight weeks I was calling them beause I had not heard anything and weather was now getting cold, finally they called with a start date. The day they came out Jay who was the supervisor showed up to meet me and we talked for ten minutes and he left! I went to an appointment, when I came back nine workers none of which could speak any English were there. Hitting the nails far to forcefully there work was beyond sloppy, siding cut to long or to short! The salesman said it would take seven to eight days to complete the Job, they were done in one day! These people do not know what a level is used for evidently, I have siding that is not level and started at different heights on each side of electical conduit on the front of my home so it looks ridiculous! Our house house has several exposed areas where improper cuts were made and are now subject to water infiltration. We have had them out two times to let them fix some of the visual problems, I have wasted my time walking around showing Jay the superintendent all of the eye sores and he gets two items fixed and says they are done! At this point we have siding up high on the east side of our house that was cut to short, but clearly not nailed properly because it is starting to come off! Our experience to this point has been terrible and we are still trying to let them make it right. The biggest problem is the siding being nailed to tight and cuts that are to tight, which leads to warping and leaking in the years to come. I have the manufacturers istallation instructions which were clearly not followed, and voids the manufacturers warranty. The proper solution would be to tear the siding off and have a trained supervised crew start over! I could go on but this is already to long save yourself a lot of grief and premature aging and find a company that cares about quality!

Horrible company. Absolutely no customer service and refuses to honor their 5 year "warranty." They…read moredo not follow Ohio Building Code for roofing flashing, nor do they care about the quality of their work. They installed a new roof even though I was missing flashing under my stucco. Instead of letting me know to fix that issue before installation, they caulked where flashing should've been. In addition to ignoring the missing "Z" flashing under the stucco, they also failed to install regular flashing. This has caused water to get behind my stucco, and into the interior walls in my home. It's rotted the wood around my windows and structural boards within the damaged area, resulting in over $8,000 in damages. They declined to send anyone out to look at the issue even though I was still within the warranty period. I was also never able to speak with anyone who actually does the work, but I had many conversations with the office manager, Karen. She admitted that, yes, ethically they should NOT have installed my roof until the flashing was fixed, but they do the job they were hired to do and that's it. Rugh's will not take any responsibility and my insurance company denied the claim due to the roof being improperly installed. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANY WORK.

They developed a plan that not only addressed the existing issues, but also caught some wind damage that hadn't yet made itself known to us. First may I say that I was totally impressed with the young gentleman McKenzie C. as my sales representative. He was knowledgeable, thorough, and pleasant to chat with as we worked out the type, color, and other particulars of the work to be done and he was very helpful during the hiccups (more later). He also was the only rep of the 7 companies I interviewed that bothered to check inside the attic for any damage. McKenzie's in office counterpart Jessica A. was also very pleasant, helpful, and calm during the "hiccups". All three sub-contractors performed professionally and did a good job. As to the hiccups, there were 2-3 issues that based upon my previous background are the result of lacking required staffing levels, quality assurance, scheduling processes, and of course the most common of all communication. These hiccups resulted in delays in the materials to finish jobs, movement in the sub-contractors' scheduling, and discussions with me. My recommendation is you get any proposed schedules and any verbal agreements in writing to save yourself any aggravation. Bottom line: I am pleased with the finished product; my house looks great! I recommend them.
