Since then, in a relatively…read moreshort period of time, I had to call them because of leaks-leaks through the kitchen exhaust fan onto the stove, leaks through the water heater exhaust vent onto the basement floor, leakage/seepage through my chimney bricks, shingles not properly aligned with my gutter-such Of those 4, they only properly corrected two issues The 5th time was prior to July 4th this year when I noticed a place in the ceiling paint that appeared and felt damp. Called them. The person who came on the 1st was nice, went on the roof, said he saw nothing. Looked in the crawl space from a ladder--he didn't go in, and said it was a condensation/venting issue-they installed the roof vent when they installed the roof, and that someone else from the company would follow up. Emailed them on the 13th about the f/u. No response. Called another company. He went up took photos and there was a bullet hole in the shingle. He repaired it immediately. As the 614 inspection was done before the 4th, and I noticed the dampness in the ceiling before the 4th, the hole was likely there on the 1st when he said there was nothing wrong. Even if the roof warranty would not cover that kind of damage, it would have been nice to have received accurate information on the 1st, so that I could have had it repaired. It is probably good that they didn't follow up because I might have ended up spending unnecessary dollars to 'ventilate,' when ventilation was not the source of the problem. Nevertheless, since it is so close to the end of the warranty, I question whether they didn't follow-up because they didn't want to honor the warranty. To me, properly diagnosing and correcting 2 out of 5 issues after installation-4 within the first 3 years of installation, that are directly related to properly sealing the water heater vent pipe, properly installing flashing, installing the appropriate kitchen exhaust vent or properly aligning the edge shingles isn't stellar performance. As I have learned the hard way, there's more to roof installation than nailing on shingles.

He came out to provide an estimate. He wasn't pushy, which I was extremely apprecative of. He knew I was getting several quotes. Once I decided Hendo was the company I would be going with for my roof, I let Eddie know, signed the contract and we were on our way. He worked with his team to schedule a day that I would be able to work from home and they had me on the schedule the very next week. The day of the installation went well overall. There was a question about my OSB board and we worked through a solution. After the install there was some tar and a piece of metal that got damaged during the install. Eddie assured me that they would fix the damage and clean the siding. Sure enough a week later it was all repaired. Very grateful to the team for guaranteeing this fix as the siding was new as well. The only disappointment was the crew did not seem to do another sweep through the the magnet afer the dumpster was removed. I didn't check the drive right away but found about 7 nails in the driveway leftover from the crew. I am just hoping non of them punctured my tires. So far they seem okay, but just makes me nervous. Overall I am pleased with the quality of work and the team at Hendo.

We hired Hendo Roofing and repair to replace our siding in April 2023. The owner Niko Henderson…read moretalked a good game and we approved the work. During the work he was hardly on the job, his workers did not speak English so I had to call him many times about his workers doing incorrect installation and throwing trash everywhere even in the yard next door. They were to install Tyvek wrap but they used the incorrect fasteners, additionally when the siding is nailed down the nails are not supposed to be 100% tight to wall a small gap is required per the manufacture to allow for siding expansion. The workers did not leave the gap and now every day when the sun hits the siding it expands a loud popping sound can be heard all day long throughout the home from expanding siding, additionally when the workers were driving the nails they hammered so hard they caused over 100 nail pops inside the home that damaged the drywall that needs repaired and repainted. I had to call Hendo roofing many times during the work process about poor workmanship since no supervisor that spoke English was on the job site. Since completion in August we have reached out to him about the issues but he makes excuses he will not fix the siding or repair the nail pops. I learned from City of Grove City Ohio that he is required to be licensed, bonded and insured to work in the city (and in most cities in Franklin County contractors need to do this for each city they work in) which he apparently was not according to the building department he also was required to file proof of such and file a permit with the city, which he did not do. The city explained to me the level of protection as a consumer this would have provided and if he failed to fix the issues they would have paid out the bond to me for damages Make sure your contractor (Any trade) is bonded and insured in your city by checking your city web site and have then give you a paper copy of the permit as proof He does inferior work and will not correct his mistake No License, no insurance, no bond and no permit at that time

We believe improper gutter/slip flashing/drip edge installation by Ratliff caused significant water…read moredamage to our home. As shown in the attached video, water was able to flow down between the gutter and the fascia instead of all going into the gutters. Gutters were free of debris. The water was only dripping down from the backside of the gutter, not the front, showing they were not clogged. The video was taken at the end of a rainstorm when very little water was present. Unfortunately, when it was raining hard, a huge amount of roof water streamed down between the gutter and the fascia. During windy conditions, that water was blown into the seams of our siding and came into the house. The water damaged drywall, insulation, window trim, baseboards, carpet & pad, paint, and underneath the siding materials. We reached out to Ratliff when we realized what was happening was not a roof leak, but a leak through the siding. Dave and Juan from Ratliff came and did a thorough inspection, removing siding and confirming that the water was being blown through the siding. Previous to Dave and Juan's inspection, our roofers, in a kind effort to help us stop the leak, noticed the misplaced slip flashing/ drip edge and fixed it. Dave noticed that the roofers had done that and put it in his report. We also showed him the attached video of what happened when it rained (before the fix) and that extra water was present to be blown into the siding. After their visit, we were emailed a report and given quotes for Ratliff to do additional paid work - siding repair and/or replacement. There was no offer of restitution. We then responded and requested restitution. We received an email from the owner, Danielle Ratliff, stating that they do not believe they improperly installed the gutters, that an engineer should be hired to assess the leak, and that they stand behind their work. Water should never be leaking between the gutters and fascia. Hiring an engineer to confirm that would be an unnecessary and costly expense on top of the damage repair expenses that they have given us no assurance would be covered by them. So we sent the video again in case Ms. Ratliff had not seen it, and again asked for restitution with no response now for almost 2 weeks. We believe the cause of the leak is very clear, and unfortunately, very clear that Ratliff does not truly take accountability and stand behind their work.

Ace discovered that the prior roofer(2017) had failed to seal a gap between the shingles and the edge of the chimney. The roof that was replaced was two layers, and when it was replaced with one layer, that left an inch or so gap between the shingles and and chimney, which they failed to seal and also failed to install proper flashing so that water would drain away from the chimney. Ace repaired the issue and their price was very reasonable. Recently, I noticed paint cracking and dampness in a ceiling. I called the company that installed the roof-as it is nearing the end of the warranty. They sent someone who said he saw nothing wrong, and claimed they might need better ventilation. He said someone would call. No one did. I called Ace, he went up and saw the source of the problem, a bullet hole-likely there from someone's errant New Year's celebration. He fixed the issue within 15 minutes. Ace is responsive, and most important, he acts with integrity and his assessments are credible. Irrespective of 'warranties,' I trust him and will always call him first.
