After almost 30 years of being a customer of Luke DeNapoli Nationwide Ins. Agency, I had my auto…read moreins lapse, without the ability to be reinstated. I had to shop new auto ins., and eventually had to pay double due to having the lapse. The reason it lapsed? Every month I had my (then trusted) insurance agents make the payment on my behalf, using the stored method of payment I gave them. Apparently one particular month, they used a two year old debit card (which account was closed over a year and 1/2 ago) to make the payment, rather than the method they had used consistently for over a year 1/2! They left me a voicemail saying my pymt was declined, and after getting the message that night I called the bank the next day (because I did not see why it would be declined). Never would I imagine the reason it was declined was due to them putting through payment on a very old card. Of course this was on a Friday when I spoke to the bank, and when the agency was open again it was Monday, two days too late for the timely payment and my policy lapsed. I then called Nationwide HQ and told them of the situation. After I was told that all it would take was a call from the Agency to say that it was their error, I called Luke DeNapoli right away, and was told that they would call HQ. After following up minutes later with HQ, I was then blindsided by them telling HQ that it was NOT their fault. And HQ said that no matter what, the word of the agent is what they go by, and even if the Agency called again to try to reverse/correct what they said, HQ goes by what they initially say and what is done is done. My insurance was cancelled for good. They would not write me another policy (it is their policy that it must be a year after a lapse) and because the whole ordeal took 5 days to straighten out, I had insurance lapse for 5 days. This cost me $75 per day for the lapse with NYS DMV, it also cost me double for a new policy with a new ins company, due to having a lapse in coverage. They cost me hundreds of dollar at that point, and hundreds per year going forward. I also looking into changing my home owners insurance policy, of course because of the auto ins situation, but also because my parents (also long time customers) had been charged more than double they found out for their HO Ins. I went from paying $2642 per year with Nationwide to $1460 per year with Geico. I didnt change earlier because every time I asked my agents why my insurance went from $1200 with my first home to $2642 with my new one (same Sq Ftg) they said because the rates are increasing, I have claims, there are hardly and companies writing HO Ins on LI any more...things of that nature. I was scared! Now, after being screwed by them (again, after almost 30 yrs of being a customer, and most of my family members too!), I am so glad I changed to Geico. I have nothing against Nationwide per say, it is Luke DeNapoli, and his son Michael that took over, that I have the BIGGEST problem with. What personal, kind, trusting service for such a small community as East Northport. I will never understand why they did not defend the truth, that it was their error, not only to be honest but to save a customer of almost 30 years! What the heck did a loyal customer like myself do to deserve being screwed by this lousy agency??? Luke...sorry your son Michael will be running all of your hard-earned business right out the door...if he continues to be an A** to his customers. Shop around everyone! It started ok then we would get new statements and insurance cards every two weeks. They made things get so confusing they would tell me I owed $300 one month and $700 another month. My policy should have been locked in for the six months. After two years of all thier confusion and endless paper work I decided we have to switch back to State Farm. I switched at the end of my policy period should of had a balance of $224.00 but instead got a final bill for $702. When I called to try and get clarification or an explanition I got no where and was told that Ray the owner would call me because he was the one handling my account. I waited several days did not hear back I called his personal cell phone and got no respones my texts went unanswered. I called the office and was told he was away in Aruba. I waited two weeks called the office again and this time he was vacationing in the mountains. Long story short I recieved notification they put me in collections and this effected my credit rating. I can't belive that any company would do that with out reaching out to you. I still have not heard back from Ray as he ghosted us. I have been back with State Farm now six months they take $324 a month with no Shenanigans. FARE WARNING IF THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT FRIENDS I FEEL BAD FOR REGULAR CUSTOMERS.

I've had 2 minor stop sign tickets and a minor accident that was not my fault. Obviously, I understand why an insurance company may be apprehensive to insure such a young driver with a history of 2 tickets. I would have been understanding if they told me "no, we cannot insure you." Instead, I was lied to. I was told by Raymond S that since my Mother had been a loyal client for so many years, they will do me a favor and insure me. I was told that he could "definitely spin me off the policy" and was told as soon as I had the VIN number of the new car I was purchasing, to give him a call and he will sign me up. He said it would take 15 minutes, no hassle. Fast forward to when I had the VIN number and information of my new car. I called Ray's office and was told by another woman named Denise that "no, sorry, we can't insure you." After telling her I was told by Ray that I could definitely be insured, she put me on hold to go speak with someone, came back and told me no. My Mother was also told by Ray that I could be insured. I didn't want to be rude or fight this battle, so I said "okay" and signed up on a ridiculously expensive policy through one of their brokers. I don't appreciate being lied to. Making promises to clients that cannot be kept is not how to keep business. I would not have been bitter if I was explicitly told no from the beginning. Then I received a letter from Allstate stating that the reason they could not insure me was due to my credit history. Mind you, I have a 721 credit score and have had credit since the moment I turned 18. The letter stated the largest reason they did not offer me insurance was because I didn't have a long enough credit history. No one mentioned this to me over the phone. This is not true either, considering every 23 year old that drives a car has insurance; it's not relegated to only people with 10+ years of credit history. All in all, I will not be using Allstate when I am able to switch from a "broker" to a cheaper and more reputable company.

I've been on that line trying to make a withdrawal and waited around 30mins with only 5 ppl in front of me when I walked it. The ATM inside has issues, so sometimes a quick cash withdrawal turns into having to go inside and wait on line. The drive through ATM did not have cash to give this morning. I just never have a great experience at this bank, it's very disappointing.
