I never missed a payment, so there was no need for him and I to communicate during those 3 years. I sold my house June 2020, and anyone who has sold a house understands how overwhelming it can be (not to mention selling/moving during a pandemic with a newborn baby). In November 2020, I received an automated email telling me it was time to renew my homeowners policy. I overlooked notifying Ed to cancel the policy, and I acknowledged this as being my mistake. I immediately contacted Ed to ask if he could cancel the policy because the house is sold, and I would update him as soon as I went under contract with the new house. About 1 week later I received a refund check from State Farm for the months of October through December. I again contacted Ed to ask why I wasn't refunded from June. His response was " The company backed dated the request from initial notification of 11/3/2020 to 10/4/2020 as a courtesy." I couldn't believe a company like State Farm wouldn't issue a full refund, so I called them directly and spoke with Nick. My issue was fixed after a few minutes. I told Nick I did not want to deal with Ed any more, so Nick called Ed directly to tell him they would honor my refund pending submission of my closing disclosure. Ed had the audacity to email me and say he called State Farm and got the refund approved. I was floored by his outright lie. I sent him a screenshot of my phone call to State Farm, which was made 3 minutes after I received his email telling me they would only refund me from October "as a courtesy." Screenshot pictures uploaded for reference. Ed Lynch is a liar. Avoid him. State Farm is fantastic and Ed is not a reflection of their company.
