I had made a few calls looking for a car service and the fees are quite high. I have been left in awkward situations by car share app service in the past and wanted to be sure we had a ride this trip. Gary's fee was more reasonable than the other companies I contacted and he seemed conscientious on the phone. Morning of our pick up Gary sent a text about 15 minutes before hand to let us know he was on his way. He pulled up and sent another text. He has a comfortable, clean vehicle with a good amount of space for bags. He's friendly and polite and we had a nice, easy going conversation during our 30 minute ride. After canceling services, I was told multiple times by Laurie that my refund had been "processed." Weeks went by. No refund. No receipt. No paperwork. No proof of anything. Laurie comes across as sweet and reassuring on the phone, but that tone does not match the follow-through. I never received proper documentation, receipts, or confirmation emails unless I repeatedly chased them down. Each time I followed up, I was told the refund was already handled. It wasn't. I ultimately had to dispute the charge with my bank to recover my money, despite being assured over and over that the refund was complete. Only after escalating externally did anything move forward. What's most frustrating is realizing this is a pattern, not a one-off mistake. The reviews warning about double charges, delayed refunds, and deceptive communication are accurate. I experienced the same thing step by step. Getting your money back should not require a bank dispute.
