    Good crowd.

Got there in the afternoon, everything was so well organized. Beer lines were short at first, you have to exchange money for tokens. Many local and international breweries. I had the chance to try beers that I wouldn't normally try in a pub, and they also had cider and spirit stands. Facts -Taxis were available right in front of the event location. -Short lines. -You get a free plastic pint glass, you can choose how much you want to drink: half pint, full pint . -Live music after the rugby matches -Sinks to rinse beer glass, free water. - Food, including pies, burgers, hot dogs, cheese plates etc. - Good crowd, good vibe. - Left the festival a bit tipsy :-) - This festival should happen every year!

I've really been enjoying this Craft beer trend . Not only here in Ireland, but also in the U.S. and Canada, where it was already a thing in the 90s! So anyway, I went on the Saturday to the Alltech Craft Beer and Food show at the Convention Centre. Lots of stands from different Irish and foreign brewers, including my favourite of the day, Redwell, with their Steam Lager. Totally worth the 2 tokens for the half pint. Lots of other brewers of craft beer, plus Cider and distillers of craft whiskey showed their wares. The food was also tempting, including some of Dublin's tried and tested, Bretzel Bakery, Marino's of Howth as well as some new names (to me anyway) including De Mad Food Company and Skoff Pies. Worth the experience!!

Not even inside yet and beer stands are waiting

This was one of the best self-guided tours ive been on in awhile…read more Im a huge lover of guinness, and this has been on my bucket list for awhile - and it really blew me out of the park. When we first arrived, we were put into a queue (& I would suggest getting a reservation). We went through very quickly and were told a short snippet before the tour. Then we were free to explore. This entire tour really immersed you through the brewing process. I learned so much about my favorite beer! At one of the floors, youre able to smell the aromas, and then understand the best way to taste guinness, it was so fun! My favorite floor was the marketing or branding floor- I love the campaigns and backgrounds behind them. This was also great for various photo ops. You end out the tour on the 7th floor, at the bar. This gives you an entire 360 view of Dublin, and one you can only see with a ticket. You also get a free guinness (or other beer from them)! I loved this tour, all of the staff was great, and I will go every time im in Dublin!!

You walk through a self guided tour which explains the process of making the beer and the origins of the company. You get a ticket for a beer of soft drink which can be redeemed at the top floor. Once you get there you can see the view of Dublin which is very nice, however it is crowded as hell so you may not find a seat to take in the view. The gift shop is very nice. We got quite a few souvenirs for the family.

I dropped in here during beer fest. A week long festival of tastings, music and free hotdogs. A…read morefantastic idea that I hope paid off. It was a wet Saturday afternoon and we were almost the only people there. This had its benefits as the barman had time to chat with us and give us a taste of beers before we committed to one. We also got our choice of seats and so chose a comfy couch beside the fire. I love craft beers and supporting local businesses so I was excited to meet the men behind the five lamps brewery and sample their fine ales. The brewer, a cork man, who had worked for Guinnesses for 27 years before turning to the craftier ways was fascinating and was truly passionate about what he did. I got a couple of half pints at 2.50 each they were exactly half the price of a full pint. Against the grain and the black sheep do this as well which I appreciate because I like to drink slowly. We left around 6 so didn't get to witness how busy it gets. Judging by the decor it's target market is a laid back student crowd. The blinds were down which seemed a little strange because it was still bright out but then my hungover friend appreciated the dim. Overall I really enjoyed my afternoon here. If I lived as little closer I'd be in every weekend.

The interior is pretty comfortable, with couches along one side of the wall. One of the guys lit candles which had a nice effect. It was a bit too dark though, so we pulled up the blinds next to our table. With the Groupon, we got to try four beers each and share a mid-sized pizza. Unfortunately they only had one pizza without meat, and since they were frozen pizzas they were already put together. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and was constantly checking to see if we were ready for our next round. We were able to order the draughts which limited our choice a bit, but the menu was very extensive! We tried the Aspall Suffolk cyder (usually I don't like ciders, but this one was not too sweet and pretty yummy), the Independent Brewing pale ale, the Blonde Weiss (this one had a weirdly strong taste of banana), the Rustbucket rye ale, the Bohemian pils, and one other that I enjoyed but didn't get the name of. The pizza was a bit small but quite tasty for a frozen one, especially when we added the Sriracha they brought with it. I know it's a pub, but I think it would be great if they added a few more food items to the menu! Chips or something. Anyway, it was a great experience and definitely worth the price with the Groupon. Don't expect any mainstream beers because they're totally craft!

What a wonderful event this was…read more Beer, beer, and more beer! The most delicious of all the beers I tried was the chocolate stout, I'm more of a chocolate person then I am beer person so it was with sheer delight I happened upon this at the Dungarvan Brewing Company stand, when I ventured around and went back for more they had ran completely out of it, So I guess everyone had caught on to it. Mmm yum. highly recommened! All the bartenders at the various stalls were very friendly and generous with the drink sizes, each coupon cost 2.50 and was equal to half pint of beer but I'm sure we got more than this, it felt like this anyway towards the end of the night :P There was live music all through the event which kept us entertained! Met up with a few yelpers too which is always nice. As as a reminder of the night we took home our lovely Irish Craft Beer pint glass, which, actually I must collect from Zarias! :) So when's it coming back again I say? :)

Perhaps I'm a little biased as was in my element, a beer festival in the sun…read more Also because I was a volunteer at the event. The price was €10 per adult for the day or €15 for weekend pass, though Leinster ticket holders got in for €5 on Saturday. Once inside, beer cost €5 a pint or €2.50 for a half which is pretty good pricing. Was it worth the €10 fee? I think it was, mainly because most of the breweries had a number of new beers they were releasing at the festival. I have never been to an Irish beer festival that had so many new beers, too many for me to even try them all. For the most part the organisation was spot on. There was very little queuing and when there was, a volunteer was on hand to help out be it on the door or the bars. The water station was great for rinsing out your glass and keeping hydrated and the food was decently priced and varied as well as delicious. This was the second year, I missed last year but I will certainly be back again next year.
