I booked the tour online and noticed they use congestive pricing to raise the base price when making the final purchase depending on how many have already purchased. My initial price was around 27 Euros and was actually 48 when I booked. I still feel it was worth it. There are several tour options available which includes just the basic tour up to Guiness Academy. My wife and I took the Guiness Stoutie tour which provides another full pint of Guiness on floor 4 with your picture on the head of the full pint as well as a video from your phone of them making the image. You start your tour at the St. James Gate area and serpentine through the ropes leading you into the building. On floor 1 they ask that you look up to notice 7 levels in the shape of a Guiness glass. This complex is mainly a living museum and not a functional brewery. They stopped making beer there in 1988. Their mission is to explain the history of Guiness and the process for making the beer, the aging, the barrel making, the advertising and the current state of Guiness across the world. On floor 2 you may see the original lease built into a glass in the floor. Gift shop when you enter and when you leave. There is no floor 6 that we were allowed to visit. On floor 3 there's a tasting room where they give you a shot glass of guiness. Floor 7 is the Gravity floor with an excellent panoramic view of Dublin. At that floor, with the proper ticket, you get another Guiness or possibly whatever lager they have that day. They say the tour takes approximately 90 minutes but I believe my wife and I were there around 2-21/2 hrs. There is a parking area nearby. My wife and I walked from the Temple Bar area over. It's a nice walk when its not raining.

The only complaints I have is that we could have used a couple of more food vendors. The sandwich guy with the sausages was really very good and we try the meat pie place. Some friends had the noodles & found them fairly bland. There just could've been a little more choice for an actual dinner. The seating was not nearly enough for the big crowd. There could have been so many more tables and chairs in the open spaces. Overall we had a nice time.

I decided to go on the satruday evening that it was on, and I"m really glad I checked the hours before I left, because I didn't realise it closed at 9pm.... on a Saturday! But either way, I made my way on over to the event. There was a lot of good variety I thought of different brands of beer. The guys at Wicklow Wolf were AWESOME... and their beers weren't too bad either! There was an awesome Booka Brass band which was great for getting the crowd in good form. As one of the other people said, it would have been better if there was a little bit more of a food selection. Especially given that it was also supposed to be a food festival. They had TV's up which I image was good for drawing a rugby crowd on the folowing sunday for the 6 nations match. But, given that there wasn't a whole lot of seating, I'm glad I chose to go on the saturday, and not on the sunday when the match was on. I don't want to stand for THAT long. Although, I could see how they may want it that way to encourage people to keep moving around the area and not just sitting around. Like the other beer festivals that go on in town, you had to purchase beer with tokens. I liked that the pours were a bit smaller so you had a chance to actually taste some of the different beers. All in all was a good event. I though it was comparable to the one they do each year at the RDS. I hope that next year they have a few more food options and that there's a bit more seating. The most delicious of all the beers I tried was the chocolate stout, I'm more of a chocolate person then I am beer person so it was with sheer delight I happened upon this at the Dungarvan Brewing Company stand, when I ventured around and went back for more they had ran completely out of it, So I guess everyone had caught on to it. Mmm yum. highly recommened! All the bartenders at the various stalls were very friendly and generous with the drink sizes, each coupon cost 2.50 and was equal to half pint of beer but I'm sure we got more than this, it felt like this anyway towards the end of the night :P There was live music all through the event which kept us entertained! Met up with a few yelpers too which is always nice. As as a reminder of the night we took home our lovely Irish Craft Beer pint glass, which, actually I must collect from Zarias! :) So when's it coming back again I say? :)

The price was €10 per adult for the day or €15 for weekend pass, though Leinster ticket holders got in for €5 on Saturday. Once inside, beer cost €5 a pint or €2.50 for a half which is pretty good pricing. Was it worth the €10 fee? I think it was, mainly because most of the breweries had a number of new beers they were releasing at the festival. I have never been to an Irish beer festival that had so many new beers, too many for me to even try them all. For the most part the organisation was spot on. There was very little queuing and when there was, a volunteer was on hand to help out be it on the door or the bars. The water station was great for rinsing out your glass and keeping hydrated and the food was decently priced and varied as well as delicious. This was the second year, I missed last year but I will certainly be back again next year.

I didn't feel rushed at all and after the tour there's a tasting and if you'd like to continue the party you can make your way to the bar just before the gift shop.

Tucked away behind the Tapped beer bar, The Dingle is a haven for anyone who might want a quiet, welcoming spot to chill out with a whiskey taster or cocktail (or two...or several) after the work day ends. The interior has a warm, comfortable feel to it, and the staff are welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about their inventory, so don't be shy asking them for recommendations. Thanks to a combination of covid and Google (wrongly) listing them as permanently closed, business has gone way down from where it used to be a couple years ago, but I can't emphasize enough that The Dingle is still very much alive, and I'd HIGHLY recommend dropping by during opening hours (which I think are just Thurs/Fri/Sat afternoons right now).
