Came here to get an eyebrow wax and tint, as I was out of town and couldn't see my usual waxer(for context I've been getting my brows waxed for years with no issues). To start the waxer was incredibly rough, constantly grabbing my head and jerking it around, pressing into my eye socket and waxing the skin off my eyelids, not to mention at no point in time did she attempt to correct anything when I informed her that the witch hazel was burning (most likely due to my skin being ripped off), the only answer she had was I had "sensitive skin" (I do not have sensitive skin and have never had issues with waxing) I ended up leaving with swollen eye lids, ripped skin and a horrible tint job. read more

The waxing I had done was new to me so I can't really compare this experience to anywhere else. What I will say is the staff was very friendly and the woman doing the waxing was so quick. It was relatively painless so in that context she knew what she was doing. She also sold aftercare products that have helped to ensure no ingrowns. Things I didn't love: she was quick but not super precise. For instance, when I've had my eyebrows or legs done in the past, the aesthetician would wax, then go in with tweezers and make sure to get everything. That wasn't a thing here. She also had me change and lie on the table with my bottom half facing the door...a door she went in and out of several times which made me feel exposed should people walk by. And lastly, she put the used waxed strips on the table so when I rolled over, they might have stuck to me. The same happened with my sister who was there at another time so it seems this is just sort of how it works. read more

The customer service at Allure is fantastic. Both girls who have waxed me have been absolutely lovely and very customer-oriented. However, this does not make up for the terrible quality of waxing I received. I went here in December 2021 and had a very bad waxing burn "down there" from the roughness of the treatment. I figured I would try it again in January 2023, however I again have had a severe wax burn. I have gotten Brazilian waxes at many other places (ex. waxon, the 10 spot) and have never had this issue. Went to Allure Body Bar, Newmarket location, on Friday, Nov. 13th, 2020. Felt dangerous so booked a Manzilion for my 1st waxing experience. Couldn't have gone better. Receptionist was very polite and welcoming. My session was very clean and professional. And, most importantly, everything now looks great!!! Was so happy that I have already booked my next visit. So I have been here twice now. First time ever, I am sticking to one person. She does such a great work of the landscape down there: efficient! She is so fast, funny, kind, and professional. I don't need anything else. She likes to sing and makes the appointment go by less awkwardly. She gives suggestions but never out of place with suggestions. Not too chatty but not too quiet during these times. I don't like that I have to book ahead of time, but it is easy to choose other time slots. For someone who is used to going to an at home lady, this was pretty fancy and I loved it. I loved the wonderful smell as soon as I walked in, I loved the warmth of the front receptionist in training and manager. I appreciate being offered a drink and I absolutely loved the wall art. It's a bit pricey, but worth it with the membership, being new to Newmarket and Summer around the corner, I had to get the membership myself. With the membership you receive 20% off all addition services you get. It was pretty sweet. As for my waxing lady, Kuvir, shes definitely a character and you need to have thick skin with her. She should prob learn to put some breaks on her questions and curiosity at times, also she shouldn't judge so much. Life is beautiful. Just because I hibernated since NY doesn't mean I wouldn't have a boyfriend, or that he truly wasn't ok with it even he felt bad for you.. As for my $7 eyebrow, she could have done alot better, today while doing my Easter makeup, I truly realized she didn't even cut the long hairs (that's how I've always been "wax & shaped") but all in all, it was just what I needed! After my eyebrow waxing the skin beneath my eyebrows were cut and bruised, clearly because the esthetician (Brittany) put wax far below the hair line on the sensitive area of my eye. While she gave me aloe cream because of the irritation I was extremely dissastified and went back the next day. When I arrived the next day I spoke to Brittany again, expecting either compensation, an apology or suggestion of how to deal with the cut skin under my eyebrow. Instead she was extremely unhelpful, saying 'I told you yesterday put aloe on it.' I am extremely unhappy with both the work done on my eyebrows and the customer service, and will not be returning to allure nor recommending that anyone else go for their waxing needs. read more

I had a terrible experience here. My eyebrows were waxed and they were very obviously uneven. The waxer tried to say that was what I asked for.....but was not true. They were also tinted, and that job was not good either, it was also done unevenly. It wasn't until I returned home and really had a good look that I realized how bad a job was actually done. When I realized what happened they offered to fix it, but they kept saying nothing was done wrong. I didn't want them touching me again, and no other compensation was offered.
