I was pissed and I had too cool off so It wouldn't be full of emotion. -TLDR 2015-2020 Loved this place but starting 2020 till 2023 they were fucking up by eyebrows more then doing them good. I started getting by eyebrows down at hair centric in 2015, LOVED it and was getting my eyebrows waxed CONSISTENTLY (as soon as they were started growing) done from the end of 2015 to mid 2018 and then I would let them grow back before I would get them waxed again. The first time they FUCKED up my eyebrows was 2020 right before the covid lockdown. and ever since then till I stopped going (Augest 2023) they were fucking up my eyebrows or almost letting me walk out with mismatched eyebrows unless I said something even if it was pretty obvious (I know eyebrows aren't going to be twin sisters but they were barley distance cousins) Why did I keep going? 5 years of them doing a great job and knowing other places close by didn't do a good job. They would also do a good job every once in a while so I would HOLD onto that hope but the last time I went they FUCKED up by eyebrow SOOO BAD I had to sit in the car until I stopped crying so I could drive home where I then cried the rest of the day. Even if I would make an appointment they would wait till I was there to heat up the wax so I would have to wait either way. They tried cancelling my appointment 4 minutes after the start time when I walked in at the 5 minute mark (only once did I not show up to an appoinment b/c I though I booked it for a Friday when I actually booked it on a Thursday and I called them to apologize, so it wasn't because I would not show up to appointments)

I have been searching for…read moresomeone who could give me that natural sun kissed look that I had when I was a kid with blonde hair. Let me just say that I don't "speak" hair. I seem to ask for one thing and always get another. I hate striped highlights and yet that seems to be what I end up with because people have foiled my hair. The other problem is that it will look one way framing my face but different in the back. Then finally my hair has been over processed and compromised. Too many highlights have pulled the curls right out of my hair and I need someone who can help reduce that damage. So these were some of my gripes. Then I found Denise who is an expert. No....I mean really. She teaches others how to hand paint "Balayage" hair. She also uses products like Olaplex and K18 to help preserve and condition the hair. Denise listened to me and had me come in to consult about my hair. I knew she wouldn't be cheap and I knew that she was booked solid but I am so happy to say I was able to get an appt. I also don't need to come in every 8 weeks. These highlights grow naturally and will only need to be redone every 6 months with just some toner to refresh it. (Hey I'm starting to speak hair because she explained things to me!!) I'm so happy but look at the photos for yourself. They speak louder than my review.

You keep thinking you need one, or that you should have made some time, but life gets busy. The other down side is- once you do find the time... getting into an appointment is a obstacle itself. I had a day off one afternoon and being nearby Gresham, I saw Amy on Yelp and decided- why not? Gave her a call and she answered and was able to get me in asap. She was flexible, courteous and kind. Once in, we went over what I would like to get accomplished and the price points. First off, prices are very much affordable. Secondly, she obviously has the experience and care. Noticed when she shampooed my hair the temperature was warm and perfect, and during the final rinse she switched to cool water. She was able to accomplish the length and texture of my hair without overdoing it and gave me the perfect look for my round face. At the end, my hair was silky smooth, soft to touch and cut beautifully all in a short time span. Since we had the time, I also decided to get my eyebrows waxed and let me tell you. My eyebrows looks more fuller! I started off with thin small brows that was grown and unruly and without precision waxing and detailed tweezing she made it seem perfect! Bonus feature is she accepts the 10% discount when you arrive and check in on Yelp. Highly highly recommend for everyone to stop by and try Amy's! I would have loved to get photos, but she said she is in the middle of renovating and upgrading her sign and inside. *Covid procedures on hand.
