I had a color, cut and blow-dry before Christmas, my first time there. Definitely will not go back. The person that cut my hair, I told him exactly how I wanted it, he did it his way, was not crazy about it, didn't say anything until now. He was an elderly gentleman with no personality. When I went to pay, I asked the girl at the front desk, how much a tip to give to the two that did my hair, also the one that washed it. She stated 20% each for all three of them, it was a very expensive day, and was not worth it. She also stated they get more than 20%. I tried the salon due to the reviews I read and definitely happy with the results. I made an appt for cut/color and Kim was my stylist. Solid 4.5 for salon experience, waited maybe 3 minutes and Kim sat next to me, introduced herself and asked what I Had in mind. She knew exactly by the pictures I showed her. She covered my grays with a beautiful color and glaze. Am more impressed and happy with the cut, totally transformed my hair! Love love love the texture, layers and just the way she knew how to style! I don't get my hair as it cut often, but will be back for color! Today, I went to allure to get my haircut and colored, and to get my extensions put back in. it took so long to recolor them I came back two months later and the color still wasn't matched properly. Then the colored was done a second time and still wasn't the right color, then the stylist who does the extensions agreed for the color to be done only at the ends so the rest of the hair near the roots with the tape doesn't get wet, however it still got went and when I went back to my chair the stylist said the hair extensions are probably last , so I had the stylist remove them out of fear that they really won't stay in and I didnt want to go out on my birthday with some extensions in and some of them half out or fully out, and also pulling out part of my own hair. I was there from 10:30-4:30!!!! All I had done was color, and the nerve of Allure salon to charge the full price, and to not offer to put the extensions back in after fixing it or on a future date, or to offer some sort of credit towards the services done or for future services,Is beyond obnoxious. I Definitely don't recommend the salon, nor would I recommend anyone to go there if they don't want to get ripped off, and want to be treated with respect!!!! Erik took his time taking the ultimate care of my hair while the Allure staff took care of me from offering fresh hot coffee, tea and cold water (even offering their own personal treats!) to running out and putting money in the parking meter for me. I went from feeling like a typical customer at a salon to feeling like I was catching up with my best friend. This before and after was only one session and I was blown away with the results. AND not to mention-the head massage you get while being shampooed and conditioned is amazing enough. If you want a change, call Erik for your color and be open with what YOU want. I went to Allure two weeks ago for full highlights and what should have been a simple trim with Raquel ($310 total) in preparation for a vacation. She blew it out with body and the color looked amazing; however, the first day I wore it straight I had the opportunity to see the problems with the cut. At the beginning of my appointment, I clearly stated that I was trying to grow my hair out, and wanted to trim as little as possible off the length - just to get rid of dead ends - and we agreed to take off about an inch. After she trimmed the ends, she said she wanted to add some long layers to take some weight out of the bottom. Fine. But then she cut another layer in the front to frame my face. The result was terrible. I ended up with two layers I did not want - one trimmed to the appropriate length, and one chopped more than two inches shorter that was not at all tapered or blended into the rest of my hair. So it's not just that she didn't give me what I asked for - she gave me the worst haircut of my life. The part that upset me the most was realizing the past year I had spent growing it out was all for nothing. I couldn't find an email address to contact the owner, so I sent a private message on Facebook explaining the situation and asking for a refund or for someone else to fix my hair. When I got back from vacation a week later, no one had read or responded to my message, so I had to follow up by calling the salon. I explained the situation to the receptionist and instead of apologizing, she laughed, saying it's really hard to get ahold of her boss. I don't find that funny. I reiterated my request for a refund or for someone else to fix my hair, and she called me back saying that the owner recommended I go to Tony. I went back to see Tony today, unfortunately only to leave extremely disappointed and upset once again. As I started explaining my issue and what I wanted him to do to fix it, he interrupted me and said, "I see the problem, I'll blend it more." I explained that I did not want him to blend it - I wanted him to cut it to the length of the shorter layer, so that it was ALL one length. No. More. Layers. Yet he proceeded to give me a slightly better version of the exact same haircut Raquel did. Still not what I wanted, still not what I asked for, just even shorter now. More concerning, though, was that I noticed his hands shaking as he was cutting my hair. My expectations are that a stylist listens to the client, asks clarifying questions and gains alignment on the plan. That an owner acknowledges client complaints, takes responsibility, apologizes and appropriately resolves the issue. None of those expectations were met here. Such a huge waste of my time and money :( read more

I have been a faithful client of Erik's for over a year now. No one does ombré and balayage better then the folks at this salon. Although I just go to Erik for color they are all amazing from what I can see. I can't lie they are very pricey but since I'm so picky it's so worth it because I leave color and cuts without needing much up keeping so it pays for itself and their colors also hold up extremely well to fading. Not to mention walking out of a salon looking exactly how you wanted just never happened to me until I started going here and that's priceless. One time I went against Erik's advice and color didn't come out like I hoped and he still made time to fix me the next day without one "I told you so" lol. I had balayage color by Erik and cut/blow dry by Tony. Erik was fun and friendly. I am pleased with the color (he took me from brunette to blonde) but Tony ruined my whole first experience for me at this salon. He roughly blow dried by hair, starting from the front and back and ending at the top. He brushed my face a few times and the blow dryer cord was everywhere. We discussed just a dusting of a trim. He started out fine in shaping the back to make it even but then proceeded to comb my hair forward and cut which ended up giving me choppy and short layers on the sides. I asked him to stop and he still continued to cut even as I had my hands up telling him no. When I pointed out what he had done, he said he was only cleaning up the ends. What "stylist" goes in and arbitrarily cuts hair without thinking of the shape and style of the hair? He didn't even ask how I part my hair and even worse, when I hand styled it, he kept combing it the opposite way. I'm so disappointed and it's a shame that I can't even enjoy the balayage because I have a horrible cut. I will never go back. read more

If Kim is still there, I advise you to DO NOT sit in her chair of you care about the length of your hair. She will hack it off within seconds. Too many seconds too late and then you've got a pixie cut. I was miserable for a year because of her haircut. The level of depression was deep, and she really didn't give a fuck. RUDE. DISRESPECTFUL. I had an appointment for a haircut with Kim. I arrived and waited over 10 minutes. Then they said she was running late and offered me another stylist. I used the other, less experienced stylist, and when I went to pay 40 minutes later, Kim was still cutting the person before me. I asked why they put someone in at my appointment time and they claim that did not happen. Was Kim really running an hour late or did they just ignore my appointment? I asked to speak to the owner and he refused to talk to me. Why would a salon take my phone number and not call to say they are running later or don't want me to have the appointment? For me to drive over the George Washington Bridge this place must be good! After trying numerous salons all over Westchester, NY I almost gave up on ever finding a stylist that worked for me. I began asking my friends that had great hair where they went and starting experimenting. That's when I found Kon at Allure Salon! My friend has been going to him for years and I can see why. His haircuts are perfection. Kon is very precise and is constantly cross-checking his work. He examines my hair carefully during the consultation to give me the best advice on what would work best. Kon also offers blowout instructions for people like me who are terrible at styling. For any ladies with long hair that are used to paying 90+ dollars for stylists that just snip the ends for 10 mins. need to go to Allure. Eric colored my hair today and was a pleasure to work with.
