Sam responded the request immediately, within hours arrived onsite to give a free evaluation. Out of the 4 roofing companies that came to do evaluation, he was the only one that brought a drone to give a birdseye view and gave professional assessment after. Our house sits on a hill with steep roof, slate tiles that are delicate - requires special insurance and skilled labour with harness to do the job. To manage cost, we didn't want whole roof replacement - just looking to repair. They were able to replace broken slate tiles and rearrange some. Half way through the roof job we found a balcony leak with the supporting beams that showed severe water damage at the house which Sam was also able to repair. Life saving!! We had daily picture updates to show progress and all the costs were communicated, documented ahead of time before the job started. Depending on the scope of work, the contract also offers warranty. Finding out unexpectedly that you need a new roof was a bit of a shock, especially considering the cost. Once we determined we really did need to replace our 27 year old roof, I set out to find the best roofing company in the area. As an engineer, I tend to be thorough about these things and started my investigation online, checking reviews, websites, and companies in the area. I found a huge number of companies, some real, and some sites that are just referral companies dressed to seem like a real company in your town. I wanted a locally owned business with enough experience to minimize issues and risk. I began with 6 companies. One was AllWeather, selected based on their great reviews and that they were a substantial local business with lots of experience. 5 others also looked like good possibilities for similar reasons, but 2 of those never responded. So, I eventually received quotes from four companies. Two of them - AllWeather and another, met with me to provide all of the details, explain the options, and brought sample materials. It was a good learning experience to understand what needed to be done. Sam from AllWeather impressed me the most with his detailed knowledge and understanding. He came to the meeting, having done quite a bit of work in preperation, including having a detailed knowledge of my roofing needs. Two other companies emailed me a quote after inspeciting the house, but the quotes were missing lots of details that impacted price and quality. One took a week to get back and the other just gave me a price with no details at all, as if he didn't want to spend time on it. Neither a good sign. AllWeather came in with a quote similar to the others - in fact, all 4 estimates were within 10% of one another, which was surprising. We picked AllWeather for the clarity they provided, their professionalism, clear communication, and fair pricing. I called references and all were excellent Unlike the 2nd company that visited, Sam from ALLWeather gave us an exact schedule when they could begin and met those dates perfectly. His was the most complete and with his recommendation we added a ventilated skylight light. One I settled on them, Sam came with his foreman Roy to measure the roof to order materials. Sam was involved in the job from start to finish. Roy and his 2 craftsman were the only 3 on the job from start to finish. Everyday the job was left spotless and even though there was no rain in sight, they covered the roof every night. I'm retired from construction and to be honest I've never been 100 percent satisfied with most jobs. That's not the case here. I'm 100 percent satisfied and highly recommend Allweather. Work was fine, wish they had read their own proposal regarding protection of surfaces. I was so impressed how detailed it was but doesn't help if their workers don't know/have the proper materials. My husband was very careful to show their estimator our driveway - decorative pavers. The estimator assure him it would be protected. It wasn't! the workers only put a tarp down on the end where they put debris but ended up rolling their material across the pavers which dripped oil. When I asked the foreman why they didn't put down plywood he said "we didn't have any." It was quite a mess but they did get it clean after spending about 15 man hours scrubbing it. The estimator never called to see if we were happy with the results or even to express regret they had done it. Easy to sell a job, harder to execute it professionally in every way. read more

He took his time and explained what he was doing. He offered a detailed report and quoted a price. He suggested that we reach out to the company that had completed a lift/relay during our solar installation 9 yrs ago to see if any warranty was still in effect.
