We hired CRS to do a re-roof on our leaky flat garage roof. They were very responsive, showed up on time, and got the job done quickly and correctly, before the next big rainstorm arrived. During and after the storm, the garage remained perfectly dry and leak-free. We also hired them to add rain gutters in a couple of areas where there were none. In one area I was not sure where to put the downspout so it would not flood my patio or side yard... Danny, the project manager, suggested a clever solution, where they were able to tie the downspout into an existing landscape drainage pipe, keeping all of the runoff underground instead of in my yard. These guys were the best. They did pavers on my driveway which looks great! They were efficient, honest, and courteous and responded to all of my requests. After adding drainage from a gutter pipe, there was a short piece of PCV sticking up about 5 inches which I did not like. They fixed it, cutting it flush with the driveway and now it looks perfect.They hauled off not only their demo but also some junk from a recent deck rebuild. We selected CRS to replace our roof after receiving quotes from six different companies. The quote from CRS was very competitive, but what put CRS over the top was the communication with Liza, the company owner. During our research, we had a number of questions about the project, including materials used, timing, warranties, attic venting, and adding decking (OSB). Liza was exceptionally responsive and professional, responding to all of our questions via email, chat, and calls. She provided detailed information and recommendations, and deciding to go with CRS was ultimately an easy choice. She is incredibly organized and working with her team to finalize a contract and manage the permitting was a simple, straightforward process. The actual roofing job went very well. The tear off crew took a day to remove the old roof. They sent photos documenting that they found three layers of old shingles on the roof - I appreciated those updates. This was a pretty dirty process with a lot of debris, but Liza's team worked hard to keep the site as clean as possible. When we provided feedback that some sections of our site and yard still had debris after the tear off work, Liza sent her crew members back to do a more through sweep through to pick up remaining debris. The CRS framers were skilled and worked efficiently to add OSB to the entire roof. Hamilton, the lead roofer, was our main contact for all of the new roof installation. Hamilton was great to work with and did a fantastic job installing our new roof. He and Liza both continued to communicate updates and progress throughout the project, and remained very responsive to all of our questions. They also took photos throughout the process to share project updates. The roofers were detail-oriented and did a great job adding all new flashings, painting flashings and pipes to match our roof color, and handling our existing solar tubes and skylight with care. The final product is excellent - a strong, weatherproof, beautiful new roof! The entire job took a full week, and there were no surprises or issues during the project. Taking off 2 sets of solar (PV and Pool) started everything off. All panels were kept away from the house for safe keeping (allowed us to clean them off....) The tear down of the old is always messy, loud, and to be expected, especially since we had old concrete tile. Each day things were cleaned up. Putting up the new roof went quick, in just a couple days (Owens Corning Summerwood). Putting the solar back on took 2. After everything was done Liza had one her handymen come over and repair a beam on the front of the house (not roofing related), new bondo and paint. The task was to replace the shingles and damaged wood on two storage units in my backyard. I really appreciated that the team allowed me to be a "hands-on" observer in every phase of the project. Upon removing the shingles, we discovered the plywood, horizontal beams, and fascias were either moldy or damaged by termites. We recently put a house under contract and needed an independent 3rd party to come inspect the roof and let us know the condition. I found this business on Yelp and called and spoke to Liza, she was kind, friendly and responsive. She was able to come out the next day and gave us a thorough inspection report which I plan to use to ensure, 1- that the seller is being truthful in their disclosure of what work was done at the property and 2-that our home is insurable and that we don't get cancelled after the insurance company comes out to inspect the building and roof. CRS just finished installing a new tile roof on my 100 year-old Spanish style home in San Diego. I gave up on trying to patch a few leaks in my roof, and decided I'd just bite the bullet and get a new roof installed. After getting a few estimates, I settled on Coast Roofing Services to install a new TPO roof, and the experience was fantastic! It cannot be overstated how happy I am with how good Liza is at communicating - it truly makes a world of difference to have somebody who kept me up to date on changes in material delivery, was very on-top of making sure things got done right, and was constantly in communication about the status of the job. Huge bonus here is that Coast Roofing Services is also flexible and resourceful. When the color of TPO I needed was a long-lead item, Liza worked out a plan to get the roof sealed up immediately in case there was additional rain (to stop the leaks!), and then suggested doing parts of the roof that can't be seen in a similar color with a shorter lead-time, and following up on the highly-visible areas when the real color came in. Excellent plan, executed well, and I was kept up to date each step of the way. None of that would matter if the price was exorbitant or the quality of work was bad, and happily that's not the case. Coast Roofing Services wasn't the cheapest of the bids I received, but the fact that Liza and team were so easy to work with tipped the scales in their favor. The quality of the work done also appears outstanding. It was evident from watching them work that they really cared about doing things the right way, and we adjusted the scope of work a few times throughout the project as the team came up with suggestions on how to improve the final appearance. Start to finish expertise and excellence. The roofing process began with determination of square footage and ground level walk thru evaluation of obvious defects and fascia board issue. An itemized estimate was provided for review. After further consultation about on roof insulation for a large finished open beam family room the updated estimate was very acceptable. The first day of old roof teardown, the crew arrived at a reasonable time and laid out tarps around the property to catch debris. The teardown was very efficient, and debris was cleaned up from around the house and driveway at the end of the day and following days. Once the old materials were removed, the base wood roofing was thoroughly examined for defects, rot, and insect damage. The defects were expertly removed and replaced. The carpentry was precise, the wood cuts were tight, angles and difficult areas of fascia board replacement were excellent. The large finished open beam family room insulation was installed with great precision without any stray nails or wood splintering. (Note: The on roof insulation already makes a huge difference keeping the room comfortable). The remaining new roofing materials were installed with great attention to detail to ensure a problem free roof for decades to come. Installation was completed in a very reasonable time frame even with rain delays. Liza was there quickly to do the bid, the team came out the next day to put a tarp over the roof for the impending rain storm, and as soon as the rain passed the team was there to fix the roof. The next rain storm came and there was another spot that leaked, and the team was there immediately to repair it. It has rained since and there were no leaks! I know that leaks are very hard to find and repair in a roof, which is why the first roofer really screwed over my friend by not doing it right the first time; however, Coast Roofing has done a great job repairing the roof so that it has stopped leaking! read more

I will preface this review with the fact that Coast Roofing provided us a beautiful new roof in a very timely fashion. Liza came out within 24hrs of requesting a quote and was able to provide one right away. She kept me updated on materials, day to day roofing work, and final delivery. The work was done top notch. Only issue I had was what was quoted versus what the final price was. I was told during tear-off my roof had three shingle layers... which I already knew bc my home inspector told me of it. Not sure how that wasn't known from the initial bid when a home inspector was able to spot it. It was a great quote compared to the others we had received so I went with it. I know there are likely going to be extra costs for projects like this, but over $2k in extras seemed a bit high. All in all, we're pleased with the roof and would recommend Coast Roofing. But it doesn't hurt to inquire about some of the additional costs that may be incurred up front. read more
