The mansion was built in 1856, making it the first mansion in Lake Geneva. The estate has been completely redone but charming details were kept. Along with a mansion where you can book a room, Maxwell also includes beautiful gardens, lounges, outdoor fireplaces, a heated pool, croquet and bocce ball. There is also a separate area in the back with motel rooms. Like I said, I was there for a lil' drink. There's a bar inside the mansion (Apothecary Bar) with all kinds of medical and druggist paraphernalia, with the space being a tribute to Dr. Philip Maxwell. But it's the speakeasy, which is accessible outside in the front of the house, that you'll want to visit. Ask for the password inside the mansion, and they will let you into a dark, below-ground bar. It's all decorated in prohibitionist flyers, and even the bartenders are dressed up in period costumes. It's a really cool and unique bar in Lake Geneva.

Out of the three, Sky Lodge has been the BEST! Staff have been friendly and welcoming! Rooms are a good size! It's a small little resort, maybe not resort, but it's a cabin feel, not a lot of people, very quiet, bonfire available, grills and a patio. It was the perfect place for our little getaway. When I travel, I generally look for B&Bs because I have done corporate america hotels. I have had many, great expwriences with B&Bs, and Air B&Bs. Many of the corporate hotels are overpriced with horrible/terrible food options (complimentory breakfast? It's worked into that final bill). B&Bs have a niche in persoanlization and care, equating to better food to eat, very competative pricing, and increased safety. Tina and Dean made this stay wonderful!!!!! There were both very attentive and respectful for privacy and timing. The reasons I stayed at this Inn were its location, close to Genoa City and by the lake (little did I know, but you can ask for kayaks or canoe options to use the lake). Though I did not use the lake nor its trails, I know these are options for my next summer getaway. Second, the price and dates were competitive and open. I was pleasantly surprised with two day's worth of steak and eggs for breakfast! Again, because it was not a hotel- Genoa City has "sad" options- it was super quiet and peaceful. The knowledge that I won't be woken by cleaning crews, screaming kids, nor immature adults slamming doors made my stay even better and HIGHER quality. And that is truly what the Inn at Lake Elizabeth and Tina and Dean offer: Quality. I highly recommend you pass up on a hotel and direct yourself to experience that which many are missing: quality.

The hosts were also very knowledgeable about local landmarks and things to do (and I really enjoyed visiting an observatory nearby that was just gorgeous and doing some shopping downtown -- was there for work so not much free time). The room is quaint, nicely furnished for the antique look, and has a very comfortable bed. (The Sunshine Room.) I would go back there in a heartbeat next time I am in Lake Geneva.

The place could use a serious renovation, but it still feels cozy despite its flaws, and we decided the price was fair and reflective of the quality we got. We stayed in the Sunshine Room and it was just fine. The place is about 10 minutes from downtown Lake Geneva. Breakfast was served to all the guests at the same time. Sue cooks and Bob plays waiter/busboy. Very, very tasty...Sue is a fantastic cook! Our only complaint was that the sheets weren't super soft and the towels might be the ones they bought when they opened the place 19 years ago...pretty scratchy and dingy. They could use some new ones. But otherwise we enjoyed our stay here. Sadly Bob and Sue told us they might stop running the place in the next year or so and hand things over to their son. Hopefully he will run things as well as they do!

Hotel Facility was clean and accommodating to needs. Room was comfortable and we chose a room close to the pools, for convenience. Boat rentals were handled by Jenna in the marina office, and done efficiently and professionally. She allowed us to change the time to accommodate weather, for a more favorable experience. We spent several hours skiing and tubing with 2 different style boats on subsequent days, operating well. Jenna seemed to be the person in charge of coordinating the rentals. If she wasn't the lead person, she certainly should be. This was not our 1st time at Lake Lawn but certainly was one of our best stays.

My husband & I got to hit the dance floor and enjoy ourselves. This event is underrated (or not advertised much?). It wasn't full but it was still great. The event info didn't say anything about food, only cash bar. We wish we would have known as they had a great variety of appetizers. There was a good energy in the room, and we even won a prize for couples costumes!
