It might have to do with a special deal between Starbucks and Freeport, but I'm not sure. It's located in the same area where the gym is. It's a very small Starbucks, so not really a place to sit down and study. They do have a large table inside the gym that's associated with it, and a couple tables and chairs outside. Since it's a special setup, they do have monthly specials going on if you look in the Morenci activity newsletter. You can use your Starbucks card here but they do not award the free drinks/food once you reach the correct number of awarded stars. They also don't always offer the same national specials that Starbucks offers. Overall, a nice treat for Morenci and good place to grab some coffee and specialty espresso drinks!

It is a great break from driving on the highway, is clean, and they have abundant seating - often decorated in cute ways. The staff is always friendly, and orders are made quickly and correctly in our experiences. In the past they did not take mobile orders, so you'd have to search your phone at the counter to try and get your order out to them correctly, but now they do accept mobile orders. So convenient and simple for the customer, IMHO. Just this past weekend we drove over to Deming for the Great American Duck Races and stopped here twice - each way on our trip. Both times we had great stops. Definitely highly recommend.

My internet connection gave out but, with such beauty around me, I didn't care. Mogollon is often described as a ghost town. That's not a fair description. First, I wouldn't describe Mogollon as even a town. It's very small. Second, there are a few inhabitants so the main street is quite a cozy thoroughfare. I can imagine sitting in a chair for hours in this canyon setting. There's a museum, an inn, an eclectic store selling a mix of t-shirts, art, geodes, etc., and there's The Purple Onion. All may be closed depending on the day and the season. Fortunately, The Purple Onion was open. It seems to be known for its lunch fare of burgers and such but I settled for a breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast, hash browns, coffee, and a milkshake. The food was okay but the coffee and milkshake were both very good. If you're on the main highway and you see the sign pointing to Mogollon, take it. Even if the businesses are closed that day, the drive there and back is worth it. If The Purple Onion is open, get a milkshake. You won't be disappointed.
