3.5 stars that is! So, this Alma Store is convenience store as well as a restaurant. If you find yourself in the Glenwood area, this is your best bet for things you might need.
The store is part convenience store, grocery store and local movie rentals too! Now I can't saw how new those rentals will be, considering the selection was mostly VHS! But! I did see some Disney selection, so you can't complain too much!
This was our selection of locale tp eat after a work team building excursion to the newly renovated Catwalk Trail, which you will also find in Glenwood! The food is pretty basic so don't stop by here is your hankering something specific. You better just keep driving! Maybe you can find more of a selection in Silver City? I can't be sure, so you better check the yelp app!
We left Albuquerque at 6 am to get to the Catwalk shortly after 10...by 11:30 the crew was ready to eat! It's a cute quaint little spot with two rooms of dining room seating. The cashier/server and cook know everyone that walks in. The walls are adorned with cute southwestish photos and little 2x2 tiles covered with cattle brand symbols from around the area. The menu isn't much to write home about but will give you some options. Among the eight of us, sandwiches, burgers, enchiladas, huevos rancheros and a burrito were ordered. I split a patty melt and a combo burrito (ground beef and refried beans) covered in red chile with one of the girls. Patty melt was bomb. The bread was toasted just right and held up to the sauteed onions and cheese perfectly, no sogginess to be found. It came with a super small side of onion rings that were crispy and tasty. I wouldn't have minded just a bit more, but I guess someone needs to control my portions. Ha! A points of interest concerning the burrito. Good size. Good flavor. The chile even had just a small bit of heat to it. It wasn't hot. Not even warm. The filling was more like, room temperature. I ate it. All of of my half. I should probably mention that I'm a member of the "clean plate club" and I represent just about everywhere I go. I guess I could have asked them to nuke it for me had it been an issue for me. Luckily for them it wasn't. Just thought I would mention it for you other patrons.
The food was good and will keep you going til you get back into town. Then you can go to your go to for a fix if need be. read more
