They told me there is no guarantees on used tires but I hoped at least hoped they won't give me damaged tire, "basic courtesy". The tire didn't hold air since day 1. I went back twice but they then told me it was rim/wheel now that was bad. I got it checked elsewhere and my wheels/rim are perfectly ok, the tire has a split!!!! and they do not take responsibility for it. Guess what, NEVER GO TO THEM.

Basically when I went to drive away my car died in their parking lot. I waited a couple hours while they investigated and managed to get it started again but said they couldn't find anything on the Diagnostics so suggested I go to the nearest Volkswagen dealership. It died again on my way home. They didn't help but I managed to get it going again and parked it in their parking lot so I could get them to start it if it died again. The next day it died again before I could get it down the street so I had it towed all the way to Bay City . They ended up replacing the new gas pump that Adams put in because the cap was on it was broken and because they had to follow protocol to figure out the problem. Basically, the diagnostics weren't showing the problem, so it needed persistence. It ended up being the fuel pump sensor. Adams did give me the money back for the replaced fuel pump. I initially dropped it off in October and didn't get my car back until De ember.

They were more than accommodating and once they realized what a quick fix it would be they just took care of it and had me out of there in a matter of minutes. He told us to leave them and would have them done by the end of the day or early the next day. While out on errands that afternoon, we stopped in and the tech assured me it would be done that evening or early in the am as he came in by 8am. I asked if it was reasonable if we would expect them by 9am? He agreed that would be fine. I stepped into the office to ask for pricing and Jeremy quoted me a price and I thanked him and told him we'd see him early in the morning. That's where it went sideways. My husband and son arrived to pick them up thinking they would be done. They were not and Jeremy got pretty rude saying that they were "going to get to them in 20 mins or so." Considering they had not been touched, we decided to take them somewhere else and he became pretty belligerent saying we were harassing him and he had "an entire parking lot full of cars needing to be fixed". There was no need for his attitude. I cannot speak for the level of workmanship as Jeremy's attitude dissuaded us from doing business with this location. Auto repair/mechanic shops are plentiful and in a service industry where the "face of the company" matters as much as the craftsmanship of the job, this location is missing a huge piece of the puzzle. If friendly and HONEST service matters to you, I'd steer clear.

Worried about being stranded on the highway in the 90+ degree temps, we pulled over in Clare to see if we could figure out what the cause was. We called ahead to several repair businesses in Clare and all were booked out 2 weeks. So, we saw Johnson's Automotive listed in Mt. Pleasant and called them. They said they could fit us right in. Our car made it to their place. Their tech got it right in, found that the lug nuts had not been torque-tightened by a previous dealership after a tire rotation, and he fixed the issue and made sure the other three tires were tightened properly. Had us fixed up in less than 30 minutes. We wanted to pay them, we were so grateful, but they charged us nothing. Everyone there was so kind. We are grateful for their help. We HIGHLY recommend them!

Consider this review my steadfast recommendation to service your vehicle at Tuffy's in Mount…read morePleasant, regardless of the make and model. There is a widespread misconception that foreign and/or luxury vehicles can only be properly maintained or repaired by their respective dealerships. It may be true that some repair shops do not possess the specialized skills and tools necessary to care for these vehicles. However, Tuffy's in Mount Pleasant has provided superior and inexpensive service for my fastidious Land Rover LR2. On my most recent visit, I had extensive work done to my rear differential, the radiator replaced, coolant leaks repaired, spark plugs replaced, the fuel injection system cleaned, the front differential inspected, an oil change performed and a light replaced. The most commendable aspect of the recent service is that they were unwavering in their price, despite numerous unforeseen setbacks and uncovering of additional damaged parts. They, unquestionably, took a significant financial loss to the tune of hundreds of dollars (possibly $1,000+) in the course of the above repairs. They wrote-off in excess of $800 in parts that were later found to be in need of repair, provided probably about 5 times the amount of labor billed for, waived many diagnosis fees and threw in a few of the smaller items for free. The above repairs cost me about $1750, but I am confident that Land Rover would have charged me in excess of $4,000 for the same repairs. Historically, there have been other repairs that I got done at Tuffy for 50% or less of what Land Rover quoted me. My experience with Land Rover Farmington Hills, on the other hand, has not been favorable. When I had a faulty PCV valve that resulted in a horrifically loud and high-pitched screech (but only after driving for 1-2 hours), they threw thousands of dollars of new parts at it while charging extensive diagnostic fees, only to have the problem unresolved. They had the vehicle for over 3.5 weeks time, would rarely return my calls, and never drove it enough for the symptom to present. Eventually, I brought it in to them after the symptom presented, but it took a collaboration of 3-4 technicians there to be able to figure out what the problem was.

They gave me an outrageous estimate of over $5000.00 for a diagnostic test for check engine light…read more Im a women and a senior who know nothing about cars.
