Located inside of Plaza La Gran Vía, is one of the few restaurants in Mexicali that offers the modern Mexicali flavor in a healthier way. Even though the name means "Green Soul", that doesn't means that all the plates are veggie based. Walking in to the place you see an ample area brightly open. On the left side of the entrance is the juice bar, offering health conscious elixir by combining different types of green ingredients. I was greeted by friendly attendants and seated in near to window seat. It was late lunch so not many tables were occupied. After listening to the servers recomendación, I ordered the Texana salad. To start, I was served with an elixir shot as a bonus; orange juice, ginger and curcumin; it gave a good kick on my paladar to start the lunch. The main dish; beside bacon, green and avocado; was plentifully loaded with a nicely grilled petit stake. Salad was fresh and crispy, the bacon, crispy as it should be and sliced half avocado was a plus. It was a clean, healthy and plentiful dish for a lunch. They have ample variety of dishes in the menu that is no short of being one of the healthiest restaurants around. A nice modern spot for good food in Mexicali, this place is located in a busy plaza across from Petco and other businesses nearby the hotels. The food was delicious and service was excellent. I tried the acai bowl since it was over 100 degrees out and it was the perfect cold lunch with cute flowers on many of their dishes. My husband got the chicken sandwich which was also delicious, but could have had more meat since it didn't cover the bread area entirely but only had a portion in the middle. We also shared some sweet potato chips with a garlicky pesto and added a greek yogurt sauce and it was amazing! Looking forward to coming back on another trip to the city. read more

Delicious food with a great concept, health. Beautiful garden like venue with a modern twist, very clean and helpful staff. Love the healthy options from fruit to fish as well as healthy drinks and juices. Love their chicken sandwich, has a kick to it with the roasted poblano but the ingredients speak for themselves. Even the edible flowers are tasty, was just sad they ran out of an appetizer that I really wanted to taste. Giving me another reason to return and try more flavors. read more

We have eaten at Alma Verde a number of times and the food and drink have always been good. They are known for their Vegetarian food options. The Tijuana location has a great following, but the Mexicali location is in decline. Wilting flowers on the tables, lackluster table service and massive walls of dying plants. In October they told us the pumps for the plants were broken so they were dying.As of today They still have not been fixed.The sign on the wall reads " have a healthy day" but the dead plants on the walls give us a different message. This location shows poor management oversight which is unfortunate as the food is very good. Lets hope they wake up and address the problems before they are forced to close. read more

I visited Mexicali for a business trip. I'm a vegetarian and this place is my savior. They had so many Vegetarian and Vegan options. I was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is wonderful. They also have staff speaking English. Some great items on the menu that I loved are - Cauliflower tacos, Minestrone soup w Quinoa and legumes, Buffalo cauliflower, Nachos and their Moon milks and not to forget their amazing sugarfree desserts. Muy mal servicio. El mesero tomó la orden de nuestra bebidas incorrecto, de por si tardaron 25 minutos para hacer cafés helados. Tuvimos que esperar otro 25 minutos a que volvieran salir. Estuvimos esperando nuestra comida una hora y media. Llegó gente después que nosotros y las atendieron más pronto que a uno. Comieron y se fueron. luego para acabarla llegó un grupo grande de 20 mujeres y a ellas las atendieron bien rápido, bien atentos. Llegaron las bebidas, incluso la comida del grupo grande. Me sentí como si uno fuera muy poca cosa, fuimos discriminada. Cuando le preguntamos al mesero de nuestra comida dijo que había una falla con el sistema. Pero el sistema si funcionó cuando llegó el grupo grande? Nomás la orden de uno era cuando no servía, ósea como está eso? El mesero nos dijo que nuestra comida iba salir en 5 minutos y nunca llegó. Y cuando les dije que mejor cancelaran mi orden aún tenían la dicha de cobrarme $500 pesos de bebidas que jamás terminamos de consumir. Ni una disculpa nos dijeron. No trataron de complacer al cliente, el gerente estaba ahí y tampoco se disculpó. Nomás pregunto que fue el problema, yo le expliqué lo que sucedió. No dijo más nada, Nomás se volteó y se fue. La verdad muy mal servicio. No los recomiendo. Don't even waste your time or money on this trash restaurant. Horrible service and staff. read more

This a swanky place I have been here twice and for the price don't feel like I would go out of my way to eat here, food is good quality service is high you are definitely paying for the environment so it has an appeal but I just like to eat at places that are not pretentious and have awesome food, I am not a knocking on this place but it's just par for the course read more
