I think the scariest part was when someone let out an aggressive fart mid-story at the mental hospital . Be sure you bring some water...if you're fat and out of shape like me you'll be grateful for it about halfway through. Another couple in our group was super flirty and I'm pretty sure this date helped the guy seal the deal for their relationship. If you do take a date, be aware that if you go in the summer you will get sweaty. Derek's flamelit oil lantern was a nice touch to the tour too. Just go and have fun. We spent most of the time in the van and when we did stop at the locations, we weren't able to go inside to tour any of them or even use a bathroom at them, we just stood in the driveways to learn about them. I admire her passion for teaching, but we cannot for the life of us figure out how our $3000 was spent. The wine was limited to an ounce every time, and whenever we asked for a second "glass" the lady pouring would say "well we want to make sure everyone gets some!" - the "snacks" were two tiny pieces of cheese inside of a ziplock baggie and there is no place to use any restroom throughout the course of the entire tour... mainly because the tour takes place only in a van and standing in driveways. For $3000, a nice suggestion would've been a charcuterie spread INSIDE of one of the locations with some tastings and every person at that price should at the very least have been able to go home with a bottle of wine from the tour. I give her credit for starting up a creative business in an extremely competitive tourist city, but I can't in good faith allow anyone else to pay so much money to go into this expecting a luxury experience, and end up getting yelled at by a bus driver and having to sneak around an old hospital just to pee. I really liked her as a person and hope she can take this advice and use it to work on creating a better experience for all.

From Tampa Florida we boarded the Norwegian Sun for our adventure south to the ancient Mayan ruins of Belize, Chetumal and Tulum. Our local guides were so knowledgable, particularly in the Chetumal and Tulum Ruins. The Lecturer traveling with us gave lots of insight as well. Also visited the island of Roatan Honduras which was not fabulous. Beware of locals who do not understand personal boundaries. Being polite doesn't work. Say NO and mean it. I would cruise with the Cruise Lady anytime. They were very well organized and took good care of us.
