Totally missed on design, there's no where to place anything while you shower. I had to jam my body soap behind the installed shower supplies. I really enjoyed my stay at Aloft in Ocean City. When I arrived, there were two Electric Vehicle charging stations available for me to plug in my Chevy Bolt. Even better-- the electricity was free! Everyone who works here is super friendly and efficient. I had no problems at check-in or check-out. They have a pretty decent array of snacks that you can buy in the lobby-- they also have a self-check-out option. As pets are welcomed here, you may see a lot of 4-legged friends leading their people around. I really enjoyed seeing all the cute dogs. My room was wonderful and the bed and pillows were among the most comfortable I have ever slept on. I had a modest balcony where I could see Assawoman Bay and enjoy some fresh air. I especially loved the quirky details here. The curtains appear to have a pattern on them-- when you get up close, you can see they are strings of numbers which I just love. Bonus points for the Marshall Amp-like music player and radio. The price was also easy on this state employee's wallet. I'm a loyal Marriott Hotel patron. However, I have never seen the worst professionalism in all my time dealing with the brand. I had checked in online letting them know that I was coming at 9am because I was coming in from a red eye flight. There was no effort from the front desk to help us or attempt to accommodate our needs. No offers of you are more than welcome to use the facilities while we get your room ready for you like other hotels would. This to me is a surreal experience from a Marriott brand. I am a LOYAL Titanium member, however this place is a DUMP- TRASH in the hallway. They left our door PROPPED open after cleaning it and our BACK door wide open as well. Lights in the bathroom did not work. Shower completely clogged. No "Leadership" around to help with anything and we were kind to front desk to try and get things resolved. Dealing with Marriott customer service now to try and get some sort of compensation but even this is a struggle! Loud music at all hours of the night from neighbors but no one seems to care. We had such a great family weekend in June. Me and the toddler took daddy to the beach for his bday! We picked this hotel for the views and the lil' private beach area. On Friday, our first night, we utilized the private beach area and the pool. The pool area has a bar and dj and it thumps, "MTV lit" type of party. Although the tunes are loud, as they should be, if you close the balcony sliding door, it closes out much of the noise. My 2 year old still went to sleep. Everyone working there was nice and accommodating. At the front desk, if we needed something they were on it. We had a prob with our room upon arrival. The floor was wet in the bathroom and it wasn't from a shower or cleaning. The water was seeping in from the crevices of the floor. They changed us quickly to an identical room down the hall. If you need to to laundry it is 2.50 to wash and 2.50 to dry. You need quarters tho, and they had they at the front desk along with detergent. I was able to wash and dry swim suits and towels to use again We walked across the street to the beach with stroller and wagon in tow. We could have gotten a ride from the golf cart person that the hotel provides (we prob will next time), and who was super nice. He let us know there is a bathroom at the sealoft hotel you can use if you are an Aloft patron and he provided the code to get in. Lifesaver!!! I later needed that code after being at the beach with the 2 year old and her pullup swimmers. She yelled potty and I was running in the sand from the water and got her to that beautifully clean bathroom in time. Good times. It is toddler friendly, family friendly, young people friendly, we had a great weekend stay. read more

STAY AWAY! BUYER BEWARE! Not only was room not clean, there was black mold in the shower as well. Noisy with kids running up and down hallway. Worse, they charged us $300 for damage, ie a "big hole in the wall" which they claimed was found "immediately after" we checked out. There was no hole when we were there, and we didn't do anything to cause one. We are in our 60's; stayed one quick night and got up early to continue our vacation. We are protesting the charge, but essentially its our word against theirs. In all the years of travel I have never experienced such fraud, let alone from a major hotel brand. FYI, when we called about the charge the woman essentially said "too bad" and hung up. Twice. We will dispute the credit charge, but now you see their customer "service." Buyer Beware! read more

Great location and cool vibe. This is a pet friendly hotel, so I was worried about noise and odors in my room. I did not notice anything in those regards. Front desk staff was friendly and efficient at check in. Lobby was open and well decorated, reminded me of a more mainstream Moxy vibe. Room was clean but carpet was showing some age, but I'm here for the beach and a comfortable, clean place to stay, so no major fault here, but I hope it will be swapped out in the off-season. The parking situation is not perfect and you'll often be required to park a decent distance from the entrance in a far part of the lot. I stayed here for just one night but enjoyed the property, even though it was a short stay. The rooms are organized a bit oddly, but it worked for me for this trip. The square footage of the room would have been a bit small for a lengthy stay. The shower water pressure was good but the shower was oddly shaped in that you had to stand sideways to bring your arms to your head. Another odd thing about the room was there was a microwave by the elevators for communal use, but the rooms did have a little fridge. The pillows and bed were comfortable, and the balcony was fine but not a big draw if you are on a low floor. The hotel sits bayside and has a small pool with loungers and there is a bar in the lobby. The sunset at the pool area was gorgeous. In terms of location, I liked the area the hotel was in as it was convenient to Fenwick Island Delaware restaurants and just a little removed from the main Ocean City drag. Perhaps my all-time favorite thing about this hotel, $0 Pet Fee! My least favorite thing about this hotel was the breakfast, definitely skip the breakfast included rate and go elsewhere. read more

*** SCAM ALERT *** We stayed 1 night. After we got home we discovered we had been charged $285 for a hole in the wall. We are 60+ year old grandparents and caused zero damage to the room. The front desk person who answered the call refused to let us speak to a manager to resolve the problem. She said she would send photographic proof, but of course nothing has arrived. GREAT place to have a wonderful event! We held a big party in the Bay Vista Event Center at the Aloft Ocean City and it was perfect! It's a beautiful location with big doors opening to a lawn space overlooking the bay. The food was great. The Sales and Catering Manager couldn't possibly have been more helpful and easy to work with, many of our guests were able to stay at the hotel with an overflow crowd at the Sealoft Oceanfront across the highway, there was plenty of parking, and the weather was perfect!! We could not have asked for more. Everyone at the Aloft was friendly and helpful and it was a very relaxed and stress-free experience for all of us. Thank you! Rooms are nice too. This has been my spot for the last three years but each time we come they keep taking away once free items. You used to get a free round of mini golf, free kayak by pool, free speedboat ride, now that is all gone with an added expense of $20 a day parking fee. It's nice you still get free golf cart ride to beach and the one umbrella with two chairs for free ($40 value) I hope they don't take that last amenity away next summer. We've been staying at the Aloft for the past 4 years. We come to OC because of Aloft and wouldn't stay anywhere else. From the time you walk in the front door, the signature scent fills the lobby and feels very inviting. The front desk staff are all nice and accommodating. The rooms are clean and and beds are super comfortable. My favorite part of the hotel is the pool/bar area. First, Scott the bartender is absolutely amazing. He's friendly, attentive, and makes the best drinks. My go to drinks are the orange crushes and his special lemonade. He has an awesome personality that makes everyone feels welcome and have a good time. Scott makes you feel relaxed and certainty lives up to the name of the bar, Liquid Therapy. The live music is always a plus. Love seeing the boats docked in the water in front of the bar. Of course the food is also excellent. Can't say enough about this hotel and the pool/bar area. We just returned from this amazing hotel! The stay was awesome! Comfortable all around. Rooms were clean, lobby was modern and welcoming. The game room was quaint yet a nice touch to the hotel. Totally pet friendly. Staff were pleasant. The beds were the best! Clean everywhere! The pool was small but big enough for the kids. They loved it. There was a gym for physical fitness, also clean. The bar was nice and there was complementary tea and coffee daily. You did have to pay for the other items in the little deli area. There were many food options, most were closed early and not available during the week. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. I believe I also met the owner or manager today when we checked out. Aloft Ocean City has been a family favorite destination for our family. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It's a very trendy vibe with an indoor and outdoor pool. They even have a bar in the lobby and a large life size chess game board and different games for kids. There's also another bar overlooking the water and by the pool. The hotel staff is usually friendly and helpful. This is a pet friendly and kid friendly hotel. It's within walking distance to the beach with several restaurants around the vicinity of this hotel. We chose to stay here for a socially distanced getaway that didn't happen to be socially distanced due to H2Oi weekend (we didn't know until the day before) which is an unofficial car meet... I won't go into detail but you can definitely Google it! The lobby, common area, and our hotel room was clean and spotless. We felt safe staying there with the precautions (mandatory masks in public areas, hand sanitizer stations, 2 people per elevator, space markers for distancing at the front desk). The hotel also provided complimentary sanitizing wipes to wipe everything down. We were "upgraded" to a two queen room after going for a king size room as it had a view of the bay. Check-in was swift and I received a complimentary bag of Fisher's popcorn due to my status. The front desk also provides a parking pass for you to hang on your windshield and there are plenty of marked spots to park in addition to overflow parking within the same shopping plaza. The pool was open and there was also a pool bar as well as a night time bar. Due to COVID-19, they weren't serving food but they have a few self-serve and ready-made options available that could be purchased through the front desk. The boardwalk was several blocks away, but we enjoyed our long walk and getting our steps roundtrip. read more

The staff is mostly pleasant, if under trained. The property is clean and seems well maintained overall. We had a few small problems that if handled more crisply would have not been worth noting. Had a key card issue on first afternoon. Needed to have maintenance guy come sort it out. This took two trips down to the desk, and me telling them to engage maintenance vs. simply reprogramming the same defective plastic card over and over again. I also observed many others having minor issues that desk clerks turned to the on duty manager to solve for them. So either bad leadership that has stifled initiative/self problem solving or lack of training. The bed was a bit soft and "lumpy", I felt swallowed. The pillows were also very "collapsible". None of those things are wrong, it just wasn't to my liking. There were insufficient outlets in the room. In order to use a bedside lamp, we had to unplug the vanity light over the sink and there was no outlet available to plug in the hairdrayer unless you stood well away from the vanity mirror. The general furnishings in the room were pleasing to 'look' at but lacked function. There is a party vibe in the main lobby area, and the outdoor pool bar is a center of energy. Its clearly a place geared to the 30-something beachgoer/party seeker. The indoor pool is well maintained. We are older, was there for a conference and I wouldn't book this hotel for personal use. That doesn't mean it is a bad choice for others. read more

This place is the hip hotel you could get. this is my second time staying in the Aloft hotel so I kinda knew what the vibe is like. But the view of the lake is nice! You will get the sunset view if you get the balcony waterfront view. The rooms are spacious and not your typical hotel cabinets. I was curious about the breakfast voucher. They have a little kitchen close to the front desk where you can order hot sandwiches. My daughter thinks the place is cool oops nvm it's amazing. I would come back here again. read more

Great value for the money. It's a newer facility that is well kept up. As an out of season promotion, they had a free wine bar in the afternoon. They made miniature golf, bikes, lawn chairs, and umbrellas available free, as well. Heated indoor pool, and outdoor pool were options. There was a game room. Free parking. The room was well appointed. We had a bay view. The bed was comfortable. The TV connected to netflix if you had an account. On a darker note. Just like the rest of Ocean City, there were no Covid precautions. Most people including staff were unmasked indoors and outside. They do not allow smoking on their balconies. My room was clean. Bed was comfortable; linen smelled freshly laundered. Everyone we encountered at the front desk were excellent. Our room was nice and view of the bay was beautiful. Watching the sunset from our balcony was definitely relaxing. The first room we had contained a bathroom door enclosing only the commode but not the glass shower. If privacy is important (parents/children or traveling with a friend) this could be something to inquire about. Our first room was located next to the elevators which I wouldn't recommend to light sleepers. The hotel is very dog friendly. Rooms have a small refrigerator. A house microwave is located in the main lobby area near the front desk. Ice machines are on floors 2 and 4. I liked the location, it is within walking distance to the ocean, dining and many activities. We had a good experience all around and look forward to coming back. read more

Stayed here for a few days while attending a convention I must say I was presently surprised with the services and cleanliness with Covid-19 the hotel was on point with trying to keep everything clean for their guests. The rooms were spotless the beds provided a wonderful nights sleep they have an indoor and out door pools two bars one in the lobby and one by the outdoor pool their play area keeps the kids happy with a pool table and plenty of board games to choose from there is a mini beach area in the back of the hotel that has access to the water parking can be difficult definitely would stay here again read more

I haven't been back to Ocean City in a hot minute but wow, this hotel makes me want to come back sooner than later! Opened a couple months ago, the team of upbeat individuals working here is what made our experience so wonderful. From check in to check out, everyone we encountered was so willing to help, offer suggestions on where to eat, and/or places to hang out with our pup. Did I mention, this place is super pet friendly and at no extra cost, they will shower your little pup with so much affection, your pup wont even want to leave! At check in, our little pup was offered some biscuits/a frisbee/and poop bag carrier; all so necessary! Every room comes with a balcony and I believe it is the only Aloft that is outfitted with a balcony in each room. This Aloft also has a tiki bar by the pool and I believe this is a concept for this property as well. We really loved the stay. read more

My Husband and I had our wedding reception here and the staff, location were truly amazing!! My husband and I are Maryland natives but moved to Washington State 5 years ago now. With no family in Washington we planned our wedding back East. Planning this from across the country was a hard and stressful task, especially never being able to see the hotel and meeting the staff first before settling in on Aloft. They made our wedding truly a miracle! We couldn't have asked for a better place and staff who helped us along the way. Love the decor - free drinks for two nights / outdoor indoor pool was decent. Bar outside by the pool with live music was a good vibe. Located on a reef but with a beachy feel,and they give free beach chair and towels for the beach which is across the street so you will not miss direct beach access . Plenty of restaurants to choose from and the room was nice with a modern flair and clean. You can order breakfast at the small serving station. Def will come back! Is it your usual policy to not work with a customer who can't make their reservation due to an emergency even though they called to tell you this? And then refuse to allow them to book another day? I had a reservation at Aloft Ocean City on 2 Sept and was I unable to make it due to a family medical emergency. I tried to see about getting a refund and called the hotel AND booking.com alerting them of the situation. I asked if I could get the cancellation fee waived but Aloft refused to speak to me directly and refused to even work with Booking.com. And then when I was like fine can I go on a different day I was told no because I was marked as a "no show". Even though I have messages saying I can't make it can I please Get some kind of a refund. So now I'm just out $451 due to no fault of my own. Also any time I called Aloft directly on Booking's advice, the staff were very hostile with me and refused to work with me or even direct my call to someone with more authority. Even now as I contact Aloft through social media they are being hostile. At this point I am disgusted with the customer service and would really like my money back since Aloft Ocean City won't even allow me to rebook the stay to a different night. Again, I was planning on coming and a family emergency prevented me from going.I just want my money back. All I am needing is someone at Aloft to say it's ok to refund me. Nice new hotel with great service. Wonderful bold colors poolside and in the lobby. This location is conveniently located with a bayside view (which I personally prefer). The rooms are very modern and quite spacious and each room has a patio area. Lastly, there is a bayside bar that makes sunsets an even more enjoyable situation. The parking lot isn't huge, but had enough spaces during my stay (end of September). All and all I would 100% recommend and thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay. read more

I stayed at this hotel on a Friday night while in the area for work in June 2019. My company was putting me up, but I did notice the room had probably the most expensive nightly rate out of all the Marriott properties I'd stayed in that summer (in the 2 preceding months, these included a Residence Inn, an AC Hotel, a Delta Hotel, and a Westin), but was probably the least nice amenities-wise. I figured it was probably because the property is in such a touristy spot, and because we'd made the reservation on a fairly last-minute basis due to a work emergency. I understand the property was almost brand new at the time of my stay, and I could tell that it was pretty new. I'm glad I got to stay at it before it got any older because I think some of the fixtures aren't going to age super well, such as the bathtub that has a shower curtain (I'm more a fan of the sleeker glass showers, but understand those might be reserved for higher-end Marriott properties). I did really like the bed, which I found super comfortable, and the fact that the shower had a detachable showerhead. There also looked to be a bench that you could pull down if you need to be seated in the shower, and the soap/shampoo were in large bottles attached to the shower wall, which seemed more eco-friendly than those little bottles you usually get. Generally, the set-up of the room is pretty modern and integrated (e.g. no separate closet, sink partitioned off from the main room area but also not in a separate room), so when staying at the hotel, I felt a little like I was staying at an unusually well-maintained hostel. I got food delivered for dinner and didn't have any issues there; on DoorDash there were plenty of delivery options within the vicinity. The front desk staff I interacted with were polite, but a little slow. The hotel is right next to a bar/restaurant, with which it shares a parking lot. The hotel parking spaces are marked in magenta; all the ones closest to the hotel were occupied when I arrived around 4 pm on Friday, but there were more available a bit of a longer walk away from the hotel. You get a parking pass to display in your windshield upon check-in. If you're looking for a Marriott property in the area, this one's not bad. However, there might be some hotels that are more on the water if you're looking for a view, or maybe a bit cheaper if you're on a budget. This hotel also has an outdoor pool, a small café near check-in, and a put-put golf course in the parking lot. read more

What: new Marriott property, opened about a month. New modern hotel, room door is extremely heavy and difficult to manage, elevator is stifling hot and lobby ice cold. Service: my hubby is Titanium Elite but did not get any privileges. We were early (11am) and they did not have our two rooms ready which I find hard to believe. The issue is the front desk is incompetent, lacking training and customer service finesse up to Marriott standard. So slow, could not give us connecting rooms with two beds in one room and a King in the other. We were given a King room with a view of the parking lot and main roadway, while the two bed room a few doors down had a view of the water. They don't know how to use the computer system and there were computer problems. Also they said breakfast was included but did not provide any coupon so in the morning we were met with weird incredulous stares that we maybe didn't have that privilege. The girl sort of pointed to everything (basically dry bagels and pastries, whole fruit and drinks). We just went to Starbucks instead and grabbed bottles of water at checkout. There are so many people loitering around the front desk not helping you and it's not even clear if they work there (no name tags) but they appear to be employed since they are looking at the computer screens of their co-workers and carrying notebooks. Both check in and check out took forever. Save yourself the headache and wait a few months for them to get their act together. read more

The staff was nice but the room was sub par. The shower leaked into the bathroom floor, the shower door was hard to close, and there was no floor mat so the bathroom was just wet the whole time. The bathrooms also have those weird non locking sliding doors that give no privacy. Worse yet, two of my four pillows had a foul odor coming from the pillow itself (though the cover was clean). The room also had some sort of motion sensor that wouldn't stop clicking all night long. It was hard to sleep. Positive stars for the great staff though. read more

Absolutely loved my stay at Aloft! I came down to celebrate my 30th birthday. I went the last weekend in September. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. I loved all the amenities at the hotel like the several downstairs lounge seating areas, game room, indoor and outdoor pool, and gym. I also liked the free golf , beach chair, and drink vouchers that they offered us. The beach chair and umbrella vouchers were an added plus because it saved us the hassle of lugging all of our things to the beach. The hotel is dog friendly which is amazing, I will definitely return again and bring my pup. The hotel room that we stayed in was a queen double facing the bay, my recommendation is to pay the extra money because the view does not disappoint. Unfortunately, I have to give Aloft Ocean City a One Star rating. I booked a Queen/Queen Bayview room back around the middle of July for Labor Day Weekend. I made this reservation using my mother's Bonvoy login. She received many emails confirming our stay from the middle of July until the end of August. I logged into her Bonvoy the night before we left to get the reservation number and address to the hotel. I didn't see any alerts or anything out of the ordinary when I logged in. In the morning, I drove us 5 hours (due to Labor Day Weekend traffic) from Alexandria, VA to Ocean City, MD, only to find out when we arrive that our reservation has been cancelled. The front desk staff informed us that the reason they cancelled was because an old expired credit card that was attached to my mother's Bonvoy account was declined when used for pre-payment. I did not know there was a credit card attached to the Bonvoy account since that credit card was added years ago. They said they sent us emails about the credit card, which weren't sent until 3 days before I left. My mother does not check her emails that often. However, there was no alert on the Bonvoy account when I logged in the night before and they never attempted to give my mother a phone call when her phone number is attached to the reservation. I asked them if the reservation was indeed a Pre-Payment reservation, then why wasn't the credit card charged right away. They told me they give a special courtesy to Bonvoy members by not charging the credit card right away. If that's true, then what's the point in calling it a Pre-Payment reservation then?? I am disappointed because there is alot of things that could have prevented my reservation from being cancelled. First, if they would have charged the credit card when I made the reservation back in July, we would've had more than enough time to see the emails and update the credit card. Secondly, they say they didn't charge the card right away because of a courtesy to Bonvoy members, but you couldn't give us a courtesy phone call before cancelling our reservation the same day that we are due to arrive?? If you were truly trying to get payment, at least one phone call would have been great. And lastly, why doesn't Marriott have their Bonvoy accounts set up to let you know when an old credit card needs to be updated or at least an alert on the Bonvoy system when something is wrong with your reservation?? To be honest, it almost seemed like they purposely waited until the last minute to cancel so that they could give the room we had reserved to someone else for more than double the price. My rate was somewhere around 450 a night after taxes and fees. I noticed that when we were looking for other hotels that day after they cancelled us, on Google it said that Aloft Ocean City was charging around 950 a night, but when I clicked on the website that offered that rate, that room had already been reserved. What probably happened is, they cancelled my reservation early Saturday morning and someone reserved it that morning or afternoon for that 950 daily rate. They informed me that the hotel was all booked up and didn't even offer to help us find another hotel in the middle of Labor Day Weekend in Ocean City. A Reservation Associate at the Marriott customer service number was able to at least get us a room at the Aloft the next night (Sunday) since every hotel in Ocean City was booked. I got online and found a room for that night (Saturday) at the Fairfield Inn Ocean City, made the reservation online with my credit card, drove to the hotel up the street, parked and before walking into the hotel I got an email from Fairfield saying that there was a computer glitch, they were all booked up, and our reservation was cancelled. This was the second time in one day that our reservation was unfairly cancelled by a Marriott property. This experience made me question whether or not to continue to choose Marriott properties for my travel stays, when in the past I would go out of my way to choose them. We ended up having to drive two hours to Dover, stay in a hotel, and drive two hours back into Ocean City in order to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Aloft did refund us 250 dollars off of Sunday night but gave us a room with a King bed with no view (Two Queens with a view was our initial reservation for the weekend). I also did not like the lack of social distancing in the pool/bar area. They should have a policy in place that limits the number of people in that area at one time. The above experience with Aloft OC, Fairfield Inn OC, and also an experience not spoken about in this review at Tru by Hilton OC has made me question Real Hospitality Group as a management company. read more

4 of us tore up the bar menu! Was unsuccessful finding anything that wasn't delicious on it! Really reasonable. Crab dip was a meal in itself. Crab cake sliders and sea scallops were also notables! Scott the bartender is awesomely helpful. Enjoy! read more

We stayed here on New Years Eve (a little stay-cation, as we are locals). It was awesome! The staff & manager went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The food at the bar was very delicious too. Our room was nice & clean. Nice new hotel in OC. The only thing was the guests in the room next to ours left their dog to bark constantly at 8am until we decided to check out about an hr later. I told the front desk & they said the manager was already going up to check it out, so they were on top of it & its not the hotels fault. I'd definitely stay there again. read more
