5 stars, not because this is a 'Five Star Hotel' but because you get exactly what you hope for and expect when spending time at the beach or seaside. We are staying here on the season's opening weekend. The room is clean. The AC/Heat cranks (although doesn't stay on 25/7, it cycles a few minutes at a time, which is interesting), the bed's traditional mattresses feel new and firm. Ample pillows, decent sheets, etc.. There's a big 3 drawer dresser, a table, a couple chairs, blackout curtains, you get the picture. We have a medium sized flatscreen with basic cable (and oddly Comcast lists far more channels than you can actually view), and the TV has ample jacks to bring along a Firestick or DVD player for those wanting more. The shower and a big enough for the shower chair that we brought with us, which is always nice. Water pressure and heat was all that you could want, but they do have what I'd call 1970'a era shower heads. So if you're wanting more there, maybe bring your own of you're the industrious type. Our shower heads would 'whistle' like a hot tea kettle almost the full time it was in use. Maybe that's hard water build up, but it looked to be free of that. The front desk staff was warm and welcoming. The online booking was flawless and a request I included in the reservation was almost immediately answered by a human, which was nice. If you're looking for an affordable place to stay while hitting the beaches or events up and down the coast here, you couldn't pick a more easily accessible and accommodating spot. I'll note that I didn't mention the pool as our stay here has been in the 50s and 60s. It looks great, but that'd be best to try out later into the summer. I was promised 2 queen beds, nope! The toilet would only flush if you constantly held the handle down. The shower didn't spray, it just ran in a stream. You quickly ran out of hot water. The freezer didn't freeze. The room is small. No more than 2 people. The pool doesn't list hours, it shuts down at 8 apparently. I read good reviews and that's why I booked. I'm older and have stayed all over the world. This rates about an honest 2. I will say that the staff is polite and helpful. Also, the beach is literally a block across the street. But that's as far as my compliments go. read more

The best in Fenwick island! In walking distance to everything. All rooms are updated in last couple of years, rooms are painted, new bed spreads and mattresses. Book reservations through their website, it's so much easier and takes pressure off front desk staff when it's busy with check ins/outs. Leave your troubles behind and enjoy some R&R by the very nice pool or a quick walk to the beach. Staff is wonderful, any issues with the room contact management during the daytime so it can be taken care of right away when the hotel is fully staffed. Love the location and the staff, the rooms are a bit dated but are clean!! I rigor to take photos of our room but we stayed in room 105. For my first time in this area I will always come back. It's south of Bethany Beach and a block from Ocean City, MD. I had stayed in Rehoboth before but I love this area better. Not as crazy with the shoppers driving like crazy. read more

A quiet, clean, old fashioned motor lodge with a very nice pool, comfortable bedding and the friendliest staff around. Beach access is just Across costal hwy, and the B bus to oc inlet is a short walk on the same side of the street. A few bars and and restaurants are also walkable, mini golf is next door. read more

stay here every year. Clean, nice staff, great location. The few downsides are that the rooms do not get very dark (at least the upper rooms) because they have automatic lights that come on and it comes through the windows, even when drawn closed. Its hard to sleep in, but who sleeps in at the beach right LOL. The pool is very nice as well. We go off season so its not crowded but it does get noisy with bike week with all the harleys in town. read more

Great place with very polite and accommodating staff but not accepting reservations via Internet is seriously hurting this place. I'll keep it short by saying that this place is priced very reasonable and insanely clean. There is also so much within walking distance. But, there needs to be a serious update in how they take reservations. Over the phone or fax simply hasn't cut it since 1999 and is certainly not anything to be proud about which some of the folks seem to be. Also, they need their internet to reach ALL rooms. It was bit frustrating walking around the hotel looking for a signal in 90 degree heat. But with all the attitude that is is found throughout the east coast shore this place is certainly an oasis. read more

My family and I were very impressed with the cleanliness at this motel. Friendly front desk staff, reasonable rates and a nice outdoor pool. You even get a little private deck with a distant ocean view. The only thing we really griped about was the lack of a nearby crosswalk to the beach. Overall, would book again! read more

Fantastic location for family with kids Location 5 stars Manager/owner hospitality 5 stars *really went above and beyond and truly cares about the customers!!! pool 5 stars - loved the fact that is was actually deep and was plenty big! Room 2 stars - wish I could give it more but I can't. They are in desperate need of an update. The room was a bit tight, but the bedding, decor, mattress, furniture etc was very outdated. On the upside, the bathroom was large and there was a good amount of counter space. The water pressure wasn't great, but survivable. If they would spruce of the rooms a bit, they would be amazing. But, let's get back to location. You can't beat it if you have kids. There are literally three mini golf places surround the hotel, a go kart place (kind of small though), a water park across the street (small but fun for 12 and under), and a block away from the beach. You can't get any easier for the kids. There is also a dunkin donuts across the street, two ice cream places and a popular candy shop nearby. My kids thought it was the most amazing hotel we had ever been at, and we have been at some nice hotels, so clearly, then can get over the outdated rooms for the location. read more

This little motel is great. Been staying here for over 15 years. It is nothing fancy, but clean and family owned. Small pool, very clean. Close/walking distance to beach. The staff is usually friendly, the guy who owns the motel is nice. I've had bad experiences with an older lady at the front desk, but usually everyone is nice. read more

If possible to give zero stars I happily would. Attempted to cancel reservation. On google says free cancellation and no where on website is a cancellation policy stated, however I was told I would not be refunded. After politely asking for the owners to show me on the website where it said this, they jumped down my throat and told me it wasn't up for debate and I would not be getting my money back. Never once did they show me where their policy is stated and they were extremely rude and disrespectful. The owner eventually tried to convince me to make another reservation online so I could see that their policy would then pop up (I called in my reservation the first time and was never given a cancellation policy) I asked if I would be able to cancel that new reservation after he instructed me and he said "absolutely not!". So he was essentially trying to scam me into booking another room that would also be non-refundable in order to prove his nonexistent point. He then told me my room was cancelled I wouldn't be getting my money back and to "have a nice life". Not sure how this is any different from a common thief or con-artist, but hey i guess you live and you learn. Hopefully karma catches up with those two. Nice, clean motel close to the beach with a small pool. If you are the Marriott/Sheraton type then don't stay here! If you want to be in the middle of the Ocean City or Bethany Beach boardwalk "action" and crowds then, again, don't stay here! If you want a clean place for a short beach get away away from the main hordes then this is perfect. This motel does NOT have internet! read more
