Do not come here there reviews are fake and when the dr perfomed my filling on my cavity's he said he wasn't licensed to do this he was only certified but he was doing em so often so he got ust to this well now im dealing w toothache on 2 of the the fillings he did one got an abscess infection and the other is starting to hurt as how the other one started to before I got the abcsss I feel like another abcsss is coming this litterly can cause me sepsis there's clearly an infection now I have to go see an actually dentist read more

Been coming here for years and they have never disappointed until now. They have completely changed their staff, which I wouldn't mind if it wasn't for both the dental assistant and the dentist to only do the bare minimum and rush me out without explaining how my teeth are doing. Previous staff were more than happy to explain my situation and prevention methods, now I'm worried that the cleaning they did for me won't prevent a thing. The GD was good, he was helpful and respectful--I had no issues with him, but some of his office staff lack transparency, and communication. I was given a detailed treatment plan with pricing after my insurance was included the first visit, scheduled an appointment to come in a couple weeks later and without no phone call update I show up to the appointment and a woman that I never saw before gives me a new treatment plan which was completely different from my original treatment plan with an increase of $300. I ask her why has there been a price increase and she says it is protocol that insurance is ran before the appointment and pricing for fillings increased-- so coincidently there was an increase in "fillings" within a couple weeks before my appointment? Weird I told her I'm not paying that and she replies, OK that's fine and I walk out. I then call my insurance company and they claim to have no record of anyone calling from Aloha Dental, no one submitting photos or estimates for a treatment and they advised me to speak to my dentist office to find out why there was an increase. I call back again and the same manager person says, well if you didn't storm out, I could've explained everything to you. Then she immediately offers me a discount and says again if you didn't storm out, I would've offered you a discount-- which is a lie because as soon as I said, I'm not paying that she quickly replies, OK that's fine and didn't speak anymore. She gives me a reference number and a name of a person she allegedly spoke to from my insurance. I called the insurance company again and they couldn't find that reference number and didn't know what I was talking about. I immediately call back to cancel my Husband's upcoming appointment with them. Be careful! Companies will do whatever they can to get more money out of clients. read more

When my 18 year old upper denture broke i came here to get it fixed. I was told that my insurance will cover a new set of dentures at zero out of pocket cost. Sounded good. My new upper denture cracked after about 5 months. When I went back to get it fixed they said they will reinforce it, but did not offer to reinforce the bottom, which broke a few more months later. I noticed that the new ones did not have my name on it. After a bit of research I found out that putting identification on dentures is required by law. Between building such low quality dentures and bringing them twice for repair, they didn't notice or care that there was no identification. Now to correct that I will have to be without teeth for a third day read more

Terrible office, they told my mom her insurance would cover her procedures, then stuck her with the bill. A senior citizen who lives on a fixed income. Shameful!!! It was a blatant mistake on their part. She specifically asked them to make sure it was covered. I do not work in the dental field and I was able to figure out that these partials would not be covered. One would think they would know this. Be careful at Aloha Dental, print out your dental coverage and check the codes to see what's covered! Because they do not care to do their job. This was my second time visiting Aloha. Unfortunately this was worse experience. I had my teeth cleaning scheduled then rescheduled (by office), entire procedure lasted 18 min, hygienist wasn't very skilled, jacked my left gum, wasn't gentle AT ALL, almost got a "newbie" feel. Never offered protective glasses, kept on telling me to keep moving my head - instead of doing his job. Never offered fluoride treatment. Basically wasn't worth my time driving there, and got totally bad job. Wouldn't recommend! read more

Andrea is so kind to my cry baby adult self. She's a thorough communicator who makes sure you're comfortable and you know what to expect each step of the way. Clearly she follows in Dr. Capener's footsteps. He gives off the "favorite brother in law" vibes because that comfort level goes along way espexially if you have dental anxiety. You know he's got your back to make sure you're not ever uncomfortable or in pain during the procedure. He's committed to your comfort as much as he is your well being. Be careful if thinking about going here for your dental needs. I was told by them that my insurer was in network and I would be fully covered. However I find out that I was only partially covered and they lied to me. So I ended up paying way more then I should have and they offered 200 dollars back which is nothing compared to the thousands of dollars I paid. Them even refunding any amount shows they are guilty and knew what they were doing. If you're reading this then take your business elsewhere. They only care about money and will over charge you with some of the highest rates in town. I even over heard them once sorting out their calendar by highest price to lowest and accepting a walk in with no insurance close to close of business after telling someone on the phone they are too far and wouldn't make it there in time. I've been here twice for resetting a crown that fell off. They have been very accommodating and communicative and saw me quickly. I'm very happy with the level of care and work done on my teeth. I don't know if the owners are from Hawaii but they definitely have the aloha spirit. First off, let me just say that I hate dental work of any kind! I have terrible anxiety when it comes to the dentist, but Dr. Capener and his staff put my mind at ease.They are professional, knowledgeable, and very gentle. I had to go in for an extremely difficult crown placement and fillings. Dr. Capener is very detailed oriented with his work and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. My temporary crown had come off in the middle of the night (100% my fault) and when I called the office to leave a voicemail, Dr. Capener answered the phone! He got me in first thing in the morning. Dr. Capener is an honest, compassionate, and genuine individual. Dr. Capener reached out to me with his personal cell number in case I needed anything; I don't know very many professionals that would do that. I was a new patient. My 1st appointment, they did an exam and took x-rays. I had to reschedule my 2nd appointment twice (a week apart each time) because I came down with a cold/flu that turned into Bronchitis. The third appointment, I went in and was told that they didn't keep my appointment because I didn't confirm it. Fine. What sent me out the door was what the front desk lady (the only Caucasian lady in the front) said. She said "because my history of no-shows, they couldn't hold the appointment". What no-shows??? So according to her, rescheduling appointments before the appointment time is considered no show. Ridiculous! I never had any medical office of any sorts drop my appointments because I didn't confirm. In addition, at the end of my 2nd appointment, I provided my secondary insurance. She checked online, it said it was inactive. I explained to her that my husband had just switched companies and that it was valid. She gave me my insurance cards back insisting that they are inactive. I left the office embarrassed. I sat in my car in their parking lot and called the insurance company myself to verify the validity and indeed it was active. She didn't even bother calling them, but was in a rush to go to lunch. So first time I went here , everyone was really nice . However the experience with the cleaning wasn't very good. The girl doing my cleaning didn't seem to know what she was doing. My wife and I had both gotten a cleaning done and we made sure Dr.Gelo was made aware that they needed work in this department. Went back for some work I needed done, they got me in the back before my appointment time, but I had a lot of waiting to do. Finally they got started on my tough crown. I specifically asked if it was going to hurt... Ramiro said no, well it did. So they decided to do the numbing after all. ..... Good Call doc. I would like to be comfortable during this procedure. Then ouch! The Drill must have been in control of this procedure because the next thing I felt was the drill catch my lip. Sure it was a little nic, but it hurt and my lip started bleeding. They were really busy, they even put my chair up pretty high while I was waiting, and I had to get up and put it back down because I was super uncomfortable. This place has to make sure they slow down and do things right. 1. Not numbing a patient on a difficult crown isn't ok. 2. Cutting my lip with the drill is not okay. It's one thing for me to not feel confident in the cleaning, but another thing for me to not feel confident in the actual dentist doing my procedures. I will say this office has the nicest people.. But being great with customer service and really kind, isn't going to help with my cleanings and quality of work done in my mouth. read more

I made an appointment for an emergency (TMJ injury) The women in the office are very nice and the one on the phone told me they'd help get me out of pain. I leave work to go here hoping for answers and relief. The nurse takes x rays, doctor says he needs a better x ray even though he won't be able to see the tendon or whatever. They take a more thorough x-ray and doctor is able to see that there is something WRONG but he can't say WHAT. He knew what it was before x rays, and could see that there was a difference in the side I was having extreme pain on. By the end of my very short appointment, I leave with a migraine from the issue being made WORSE by making me do what I'm saying is hurting, with a small print out of a suggestion to take ibuprofen and Tylenol together to relieve the pain and a referral to a specialist who is booked out until end of October. So I go home with this pain even worse, excruciating migraine and no answers OR help. I wake up the next day with a rip in my lip near where he felt for who knows what when examining "my anatomy" for a numbing shot which I was unable to get because the chances of it working were low. I'm upset that I went here and scammed my insurance into paying for x rays and a useless referral. Dr. Davis was not willing to help whatsoever. Please just go anywhere else during an emergency. I have had some really bad experiences in Las Vegas with dentists so I was leery when I made an appointment here even after being referred by my orthodontist but I am SOOOOO glad that he sent me to Dr. Capener! He is so nice and makes you feel completely at ease. They didn't recommend anything I didn't need (no sneaky expensive cleaning when I KNOW I don't have periodontitis and no saying I have cavities when I don't) and when I brought my kids in, they left telling me that they are excited to go back. No small feat when my youngest was petrified and was crying silently in the waiting room before being called back! The entire front desk staff and the hygienists are patient and sweet as well. We see Dr. Capener a lot as my husband has some serious tooth issues and he's also terrified of the dentist but he doesn't mind going in (much) either. He said he hasn't ever had pain in the office which is amazing with all the work they are doing to fix his teeth after a lifetime of fear. They have no issue spacing out your work over a couple of years if necessary so you can use as much insurance as possible and save yourself some money.
