I'm giving it a 2 star for the lack of accountability and the poor service their front desk Maria provided today. First visit with Dr.Patel was 2 weeks ago. Holly answered all my questions on the phone and she's one of the reasons why I decided to do all my treatments here. Are they a little pricey? Yes. Did I trust dr.Patel to complete the work that I need? Also yes. I'm ok with paying more just to have the peace of mind. Today's appt was supposed to be 4 hours(fillings, a crown and deep cleaning for my left side. I was 13 mins late- texted and called the office to let them know I'm going to be late, in case they couldn't fit me in anymore. Holly answered and said no problem, drive safe. When I got there Holly was busy, Maria checked me in. The first thing she said to me was "we might not be able to do all your treatments today since you're late. Please sign all the forms and pay the balance of $550." I said what do you mean? The whole reason why I'm here today is that I don't want to get numbed multiple times. She said but you're late and time is tight. My machine is not up front so do you have a card? I said I texted Holly she's aware I'd be a little late, she rolled her eyes and said "I can see the message too". Who talks like that and who trained her? It took them 15 mins to check me in and I didn't even SEE the doctor's face till 11:45. Clearly my 13 mins was really a big deal lol. I am responsible for being 13 mins late but I believe Maria could work on her delivery better. If you want to gaslight patients cuz you're overbooked- you're arguing with the wrong person. I'd have no problem if I was told on the phone that me being late would delay my treatment- I probably would have turned around and rescheduled instead of driving half an hour to get there and be told that I cannot do all of my treatments which would of defeated the purpose. Dr.Patel ended up doing all my treatments as discussed- I want to make it clear that this review does reflect on her work, the hygienist, Dr Jamie(I believe she did my deep cleaning) and Holly. I'm more than disappointed by the front staff Maria and her unprofessionalism/rudeness. Holly witnessed the whole interaction and the fact that this wasn't brought up to the management is concerning. If I was the owner of the practice I would absolutely like to know who cares about my clients and who doesn't. I hope they do better in the future. read more

I've been coming to Desert Inn Smiles for years now, and I can confidently say I'd never go anywhere else. The staff here is incredible hands down the best customer service experience I've ever had. Everyone is involved and genuinely caring. It never feels like a rushed "hi-bye" visit; they take the time to connect, make you feel seen, and somehow manage to be personable, funny, and kind all at once. Honestly, I wish I could be friends with all of them! I've come here for pictures, X-rays, cleanings, deep cleanings, and most recently wisdom teeth removal. Every experience has been amazing, but it was my wisdom teeth removal with Dr. Kamal that drove me to finally write this review. I was terrified going in. I put off getting my wisdom teeth out for 5-7 years because my pain tolerance is laughably low (getting my ears pierced was traumatic enough). I had to get all 4 removed at once to relieve some pain I was experiencing, and from the first conversation, the team completely reassured me. They went over everything, post-op plans, expectations, recovery tips and made me feel like I was genuinely in good hands. But even then, I had no idea just how committed they were to making this comfortable for me. The surgery? Flawless. I didn't feel a single bit of pain or discomfort not before, during, or after. I'm someone who cries at a paper cut, so to walk away from oral surgery without pain? Truly a miracle. I chose IV sedation, and it was so easy , i fell asleep, and next thing I knew, I was at home, pain-free and minus four teeth. Recovery has been just as smooth. No pain, no issues, and if there ever was a moment of mild discomfort, Tylenol took care of it. I went in for my post-op checkup and everything is healing beautifully. Ill now be starting my invisalign journey with them. Dr. Kamal is amazing, and I still can't believe how positive this entire experience was. I couldn't have asked for a better team or outcome. Extremely Disappointed - A Humiliating Experience I had a deeply upsetting and humiliating experience at Desert Inn Smiles with Dr. Karishma Patel. I have a long history of white coat syndrome--a condition where my blood pressure spikes in medical settings due to anxiety. I've lived with this for over 20 years and always check my BP before appointments to share with the provider. During my visit, I initially declined the in-office BP check (as I usually show my pre-recorded results), which I know is part of my patient record. The assistant called in Dr. Patel, and from the moment she entered, her tone was stern and lacking empathy. While I eventually agreed to the BP check, she seemed to interpret my explanations as argumentative--despite me trying to explain my condition. What followed was a shocking escalation. I repeatedly told her I was not trying to argue and that I was already complying. I even asked multiple times to "start over" and move forward respectfully. But she continued to speak over me, insisting I was being difficult, and ultimately told me I would no longer be seen by her or anyone in the clinic. She stated she was the owner and refused to continue. I left in tears. Her reaction was not only unprofessional but deeply lacking in compassion--particularly for someone with known anxiety in medical settings. I went in seeking care while in pain and left feeling dismissed and humiliated. If you struggle with anxiety or white coat syndrome, I would strongly advise seeking care elsewhere. So a 3 tooth bridge fell out and I went in, asking them to help me out. They did a whole bunch of high tech x-rays on me and then handed me a bill of $9412. I was told that the bridge cannot be put back on because there was a tooth decay. $3866 was the cost of the bridge and that my insurance will not cover it. The cost of the bridge before discount was $5252???? after $3866... The cleaning was $$1638.20. I was offered a 12 month loan interest monthly pmt of $323 A month. Estimate was creatively designed like several I have seen in Vegas to sponge off the $2500 and the health benefit card insurance gives and get the patient in debt after the fact. Think I need to stop trying as like everything else insurance and the medical system is a complete scam. They were friendly but not improvising. My issue was left unresolved. I was returned with an estimate, to process the debt I will have to incur and a bridge in a tubber wear toothless. Not impressed. When I compare my efficient doctors overseas and then see how doctors rip off patients here the less I want to go to them. This was another of the same. The gals in the front are trained to design these estimates. Reminds me of the auto stores that make an estimate on your car to include everything unnecessary. Even discount tyre that openly lies about new Tyres with low thread counts. The whole system is not about the customer it's about making money. read more

From my initial appointment (which was thorough but took some time), I learned I needed my wisdom teeth removed. As someone who hates the dentist and struggles with anxiety, I can't express enough how incredible Dr. Karishma and Dr. Kamal were throughout the entire process. Not only are they highly skilled and knowledgeable, but they are also kind, relatable, and truly care about their patients. Leading up to my surgery, I called the office twice with anxious questions, and both times, they responded with patience and kindness. On surgery day, I was extremely nervous, but Dr. Kamal's personable nature and confidence put me at ease. Service definitely went downhill and prices have gone way up. My insurance confirmed they're prices are 20% higher than similar dental offices in the area. They demand 50% up front for any services...I'm not paying for medical treatment before it's received. They call, text and email multiples before appointments when it's not needed. If you offer an adult a paper reminder card that their appointment is on a certain date you shouldn't be contacted multiple times for the same thing. They also don't do late afternoon appointments which is why I originally went here in the first place. read more

This is the lowest I can give but she is really a zero that owns this place and a Dentist. No patience at all. She is not professional at all. Somehow she got pissed and assume that I am disrespecting her by not wanting to get my BP and the way she talks has no respect at all and lots of ego and refused and kicked me out. While she's explaining she is really escalated the situation and I let her take my BP even if I told her I have a white collar syndrome. I told her it is in my record and she just got more pissed off and even when I repeatedly asking her to calm down she still thinks I am arguing when I am telling her three times to calm down and trying to deescalate the situation, she's just more pissed and told me she's the owner and kicked me out. This dentist has no manners, egoistical and power tripping, no patience at all with her clients and very disrespectful. She need to go back to school on how to manage people. read more

I had been with my previous dentist since I was a child. He recently retired and his patients were bought out and transferred to a new practice. I felt that the level of care provided at the new practice was subpar to what I had come to expect and began looking for a new dentist in my area. I came across Desert Inn Smiles on Yelp and I'm glad that I did. I was impressed with the time that Dr. RJ took during my consultation to thoroughly explain my smile in a way that no dentist ever had in the past. I was also impressed with my cleaning by the hygienist, Aubrie. It felt much more thorough than cleanings I've had in the past. Additionally, the office staff was great and I really like the modern approach they have taken. Using an iPad to fill out new patient forms is so much easier and more efficient than paper forms! read more

I recently had the pleasure of having my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Kamal and I must say... what an experience. I was nervous. I had been told for a couple years now by various dentists that it was time, but I brushed it off. After having a couple routine crowns done by Dr. Karishma and a couple cleanings with their super awesome hygienist Aubrie, I gained the trust to full send and have all 4 extracted at once. Extremely happy I did!!! The experience exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff ensured that I was comfortable throughout, frequently checking on my well-being and addressing any concerns I had. Brandon (and the laughing gas) had me busting up and it's evident that they genuinely care for their patients' well-being. Post extraction, Dr Kamal made an effort to ensure I knew proper preventative procedures to avoid aggravation / dry socket and checked in frequently. It's now day 7 after my operation and the pain is virtually gone! In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Kamal, Dr. Karishma and the whole Desert Inn Smiles team for teeth extractions and any other dental procedures. Their exceptional expertise, gentle demeanor, and commitment to patient care set them apart. I am grateful for the flawless extraction experience and I give them my highest recommendation. My first visit to this Dentist. I chose them for their reviews on yelp and their location within a five mile radius from my house. X-ray and all equipment were very up to date. Everyone was friendly and professional. Hygienist was great. Dr. was very personable and thorough. I left feeling like my teeth were in good hands. Pricing seems a little better than average, but then again dental work is not cheap. I liked that I could fill out the paperwork online. That was another plus. I give them easily 5 stars. Since there is usually just one dentist, the wait to see him can be long, but once you see him, he does not rush you. I actually think this is a plus because if I were having major work done, I would not want my dentist rushing off to the next patient. read more

I was recently referred to Desert Inn Smiles by another dentist. As most, I get pretty anxious when going to the dentist, especially someone unfamiliar. Wow, let me tell you from the moment I walked in, my anxiety was gone. I felt comfortable and important. The front desk staff are amazing. So kind and welcoming. I had the pleasure of working with Abbey on an initial treatment plan. She is very knowledgeable in insurance coverage, estimated costs and payment plans. The dental technicians and dental assistants walked me through every process and what they would be doing. They continually made sure I was comfortable. Dr. Kamal and Dr. Karishma, I don't even know where to start. I learned quickly that they are not only incredible doctors, they are genuinely down to earth people. They both sat with me and took the time to listen to my concerns and what my ultimate goal was for my teeth. As professionals, I also wanted their opinions as I needed some major work done. In a short time, we came up with a treatment plan that worked for me. Within a week, Dr Kamal was able to start the procedure. I had oral surgery two days ago, no discomfort during the process and I feel really good. So excited to see my new smile in a few days. It's still a good clinic and a doctors but they always recommend us to go to other dentist for other consultation because it's not their specialty which is I totally understand. But, sometimes we don't have a budget for that because we need to go back and fourth for that and this clinic. (Co payments) Doctor RJ is very nice but when my kids was seen by his wife which is also a dentist, one of my teenage son was not that happy that day compare when doctor RJ checked/cleaned the teeth. Because she's so frank on what she saw on my son's teeth which is again, is a good thing but I believed she also needs to say things in extra nicer way especially to the minor patients. Very good and thorough doctor. I was really impressed with all of the new technology that they had here and love when a doctor keeps up with the times. I have am a Vegas transplant so this is my first time at a dentist here. After a series of x rays the doctor sat down and showed me lots of things about my mouth that I didn't know. Jaw structure, discussed airways, it was really cool. After that a cleaning and I was out. Last week I got a call to confirm my appointment and they ask me for a payment, I told them that I had never paid before getting the service. When I walk in, right away, they ask for a payment. I asked them if they want to service me and pay after. Otherwise, I would leave. They told me it's ok, so I got my teeth cleaned. I told them that I had never paid for the service that I haven't got. Excellent every time. Like most people as a child had traumatic experiences with dentists. RJ has been amazing, four crowns and a couple root canals later he still delivers excellent service.
