Walking into Aloha Fish Company feels like stepping into a little slice of Hawaii right in Nashville. It has that laid - back, market style vibe with a fish market and takeaway, along with pantry items. I ordered the ahi tuna poke bowl with all the toppings and found it incredibly fresh and flavorful. Only wish they put more fish in the bowl for the price! Service was warm and welcoming and it's nice to be able to eat at the outdoor seating when weather permits!

The ONLY place to buy fresh seafood. We have taken their sushi rolling class and have bought seafood multiple times. We love the ahi, scallops, yellowtail and the dole whip soft serve is not to be missed!

Kalua pork and cabbage over rice with mac salad and a Hawaiian roll

I've been looking forward to trying this fish for a while after I saw that the business was moving into its new space at one city. It met my expectations and beyond! I was immediately met with smiling faces and an offer to explain their menu as it was my first time in. I ordered a poke bowl with all the toppings and an order of their special: Kalua pork. It was too cold to eat outside, so I took the food home to share with family. Although I ordered a mixed poke bowl, it turned out there was only ahi added. However, it was the freshest tuna I've had in forever (or ever, maybe!). It brought me right back to a short time I lived on Oahu, eating plain marinated ahi before bowls were so popular! Next time I'll make sure to try the salmon. The kalua pork was equally authentic with its tender bite and smoky flavor, and it paired perfectly with the rice and mac salad. We did add a bit of Japanese bbq sauce to the meat at home, which made it a little more interesting. The portions were enormous! I shared with family and had enough pork leftover for a next-day lunch. There is no indoor seating, but because it's located at one city, there is plenty of outdoor community seating. I'll be back in better weather, to enjoy a fresh catch while watching a beach volleyball match! Before then, I may swing by to pickup one of their dinner kits with the freshest fish in Nashville.

First off, the people who work here are so kind and welcoming. We were greeted and welcomed as soon as we are in the door. My co worker and I both ordered the poke bowl with tofu. It was such a filling, flavorful and unique dish. I chose to get mine without the spicy sauce but I definitely needed some bang bang sauce on my mind to set it off. I also go the ube mochi and wow so buttery and delicious. They have different lunch specials that rotate every week so I'm looking forward to coming back to try some other dishes. Free parking and some outdoor seating is available as well.

Stepping into the restaurant, you immediately feel like you are on a beach in the Pacific. From the unique structure of the room to the smell of fresh fish flown in from overseas, you are transported back to the islands of Hawaii. I can say, as a fan of fish, with a husband who works in aquaculture, that this might be the best place to get fresh fish in Nashville. If you are a fan of poke bowls, then you have to try this place. My husband and I both ordered poke bowls -- his was salmon, and mine was tuna. Both were fabulous... I think my husband wanted another bowl. We will definitely be coming back for more fresh fish soon!

Update: had the immense pleasure of taking a sushi making class with chef Tim and Jennifer. It was so informative, fun, and eye opening! My best friend and I went together, it felt very romantic. Don't tell my mans I said that lol. The fish was so fresh, I honestly just wanted to eat the whole tray. I absolutely recommend this for a fun girls night or date night or just to better your culinary skills night! Side bar- if you had a hoodrat youth like I did and know how to roll js and bs the skills translate over VERY well.

The best poke I've had in Nashville! I got a mix of the tuna and salmon in a spicy bowl over white rice, and everything was fresh and flavorful. I also tried their spam masubi and mac salad which were both delicious. I wish there was a little less rice on the spam masubi, but the mac salad was perfectly creamy with the onions giving it a nice little crunch. They also could not have been nicer! All of the staff was super friendly and chatted with us while our food was being prepared. There is no inside seating, but there is plenty of outdoor space to sit and enjoy this tasty meal!

It's kind of in a weird area with weird parking. Then you walk down a little sidewalk between buildings and it past this coffee shop. I got the ahi poke bowl with salmon and tuna and also got a spam musubi. The menu doesn't have detail about what's in the ahi poke bowl. You just pick your fish and have trust in everything else the bowl entails - but it was good! I will say I wasn't a fan of the raw red onion in it. I'm not really a raw onions person in general so that's why but overall it was delicious. The fish is so fresh it was like I was transported to Hawaii - home to the best poke and fresh fish. The spam musubi hit too. V good. Would recommend. I wanted to try the inari but I got enough food as it was. My friend got inari and it looked sooo good. She said it was great. Staff also very friendly.

    Salmon inari (Day 1)

This was our first time in Nashville so we wanted to make sure we took advantage of what Nashville has to offer since where we live there aren't much options. My husband found this place while searching for lunch after the zoo. When we first pulled up I thought he was lost because it's at a dead end street which I thought were apartments at first. There's a sign on the sidewalk letting you know where to go. When we walked in we were greeted right away by Jerry. We told him we were visiting and where we were originally from and from there he had my husband hooked with letting us know how recent the fish were caught and how recent it was shipped in and so forth. We first ordered tuna and salmon inaris, and a poke bowl. I had the salmon and my husband had the tuna and hands down the best inaris I've had. First off I love seaweed salad and I couldn't get enough of it. The tobiko toppings just went really well as they were both regular and a wasabi one. Then to top it off with the amazing sauce. The poke bowl was just as good adding in the cucumbers. Before we left we got some musubis and more poke. I'm not too big on kimchi so my husband ate that and he was amazed! I had the Portuguese sausage musubi and one of the best musubi I've had (at that time). Before we left Nashville, we stopped by again to get some things for the ride home and ended up leaving with more. We of course ordered the inaris again and poke. But this time we left with some laulaus and Portuguese sausage for home. Let's not forget the musubis. That day Jerry had unagi musubis and that became the best musubi I've had! The eel was cooked perfectly wrapped with the sauce, then dip into the sauce mixture he made. Needless to say when we come back to Nashville we will be bringing a cooler!

This little Cajun market used to have a spot in Nashville's Germantown, a modest building now occupied by a Taco Mamacita. Sadly, Music City lost a reliable purveyor of unique seafood that still lives on in Clarksville in an equally humble space. And thank heavens it does! I've been planning to visit Little's for about 10 years now to complete my experiment with fried alligator and fried frog legs. And I finally got to put their products to the test with a two-hour, round-trip drive followed by a full scale cooking test at home. I acquired the alligator meat and frog legs in the frozen section of this tiny store, items you simply cannot find in Nashville. I also couldn't resists the breaded fried clams also in the freezer. And I went home to commence an extensive culinary adventure. I leaped into Leap Day of 2024 by frying up my secret recipe for Nashville Hot Frog Legs. And thanks to Little's selling frog legs of exceptional quality, this is one of the best things I've cooked in the last five years! Juicer than chicken, good enough to win competitions, and worthy of starting my own food truck, this would have been impossible without such an impeccable product! And the best-kept secret might just be their frozen fried clams, nearly as good coming out of my deep fryer as the best versions I've had in Maine and Massachusetts! The alligator was pretty good, too. Let's just say that I'm an excellent gourmet cook, but I'm only as good as the quality of my ingredients. And Little's did not disappoint!

I especially love it when simplicity and genuine passion is served, not just presentation. Anyway, to start off - this market, and it's a market, not quite a restaurant. When my friend and I stopped in, there was one table, four chairs. Since we were there late, we were able to sit and dine in. Sitting and eating there allowed us to chat with Kojo - the owner. Learning not just about the market but his history and his passion for what he does. Switching gears again - the market is in a huge shopping plaza. Lots of parking. And free. As for the food - see the pics. Dinner pics is mixed in with what was left in the market. I can't even begin to explain how much I enjoyed the flavors of the dishes he made on the spot for us. As we were there late in the day, most of the popular dishes were sold out however, he made a few suggestions, even two that were off the menu and made it to order. When we were there, it was a one man operation. So he was also our host and server. If you couldn't tell - service was excellent. Chatting about food. About seafood. About the beginning of Gulf Port. And about life in general. This is one of those places, that if I lived there - I'd frequent the place just because of him. It's just too bad that me going there requires a plane ticket and a five or so hour flight. But, also know this - next time I fly into Nashville, I'll make my way to Hermitage and have more delicious, fresh seafood.

**April 2025: Saturday Evening Visit**…read more My friend and I wanted to eat somewhere in the Hermitage area since that's where we were staying and Gulf Port Seafood had really high ratings, which were 100% well deserved. I should preface this by saying that Gulf Port is a seafood market first and that they have one table (4 chairs) so you can dine-in - but space is limited. Kojo, the restaurant owner, has both raw and hot options for patrons to enjoy. We came pretty late on a Saturday so many of his popular items (gumbo and lobster roll) were sold out, but we decide to try his other offerings which were delicious. We ordered the 2 orders of Cajun Crawfish Roll (methinks $15?), Seafood Mac & Cheese (methinks $20?) and Shrimp and Grits ($20? maybe) and all were made to order and brought to our table in a timely manner. The Cajun Crawfish Rolls came out first (I guess one order is given two rolls) and we demolished it. The toasted bun had a nice char, but was fluffy on the inside and the cajun sauce gave the crawfish nice flavor. We devoured this and were really impressed with the item. Next the Seafood Mac and Cheese came our as well as the shrimp and grits. The Mac and Cheese had such a great blend of cheeses and the noodles were cooked al dente. The grits on the shrimp and grits were scrumptious - not mushy at all and the shrimp was cooked through. Everything tasted very comforting and the prices are very reasonable! Overall, this was definitely a highlight meal of my Southern States travels and the next time I'm back in Nashville I hope to try the gumbo and lobster roll!
