Certainly Nashville is a city replete with meat-and-three joints, some forgettable, some good, and some great. MacHenry is going to become one of the more competitive such establishments in the area with high quality, down-home cookin' from scratch. I've tried several meat options there including a roast pork loin with marvelous seasoning, juicy and tender in a light gravy. The catfish is a huge filet with beautiful crispy batter, although I hoped the actual fish had been a bit flakier. The two side dishes I've sampled were amazing. The fried Brussels sprouts with seasoning are perhaps the best in the city of Nashville, and I don't even like Brussels sprouts! They just left everyone at the table stunned! The mac and cheese is incredible, a far cry from the fake cheese sauce poured over shells that many restaurants attempt to get away with. This is real, melted, slightly crispy cheddar cheese over quality pasta were talking about! Everything here is homemade and the freshness shows. And the honey butter rolls are simply impeccable. Customer service here is fantastic as the owners make you feel very welcome and taken care of. I highly recommend a stop at MacHenry's Meat & Three!

The fried brussel sprouts were so incredible, the mashed potatoes homemade and perfect with a little lump to them and the squash casserole is as good as I've had. Can't wait to try more of their sides (but only 2 at a time because my 3rd will always be those brussel sprouts).

The quality of everything they sell is top-notch, and it's become one of my favorite local spots for fresh meat. But this visit, I have to talk about the blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Wow. It was one of those desserts that makes you stop talking after the first bite. The cobbler was warm, packed with sweet blueberries, and had the perfect buttery, crumbly topping. Paired with the cold, creamy vanilla ice cream melting into it, it was absolutely incredible. I honestly wasn't expecting to find one of my favorite desserts at a butcher shop, but here we are! The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions or make recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their products and the experience they provide. It's rare that I update a review, but this place earned it. Between the outstanding meats, excellent customer service, and now one of the best blueberry cobblers I've had, Light Hill Meats keeps giving me reasons to come back. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor--grab some meat for dinner and don't leave without trying the blueberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream. You can thank me later!

I like to support local businesses, but it's become obnoxious. Perfect example is they sell Masa Chips for $15 a bag. I have ordered them direct for months, @16 bags for $56, free shipping. Seriously, I am all for running a profitable business, but I stopped shopping there for a year, and finally went back for sausage just last week. I will again, go back to Semler Farms.

Absolutely the Best BBQ in Nashville - Honey Fire BBQ on Sawyer Brown Rd is a Must-Try!…read more I recently visited Honey Fire BBQ in the Bellevue area and left completely impressed. From the moment you walk in, the place feels welcoming with its clean, modern vibe and that cozy wrap-around covered porch--perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends. The star of the show is their slow-smoked meats paired with that signature sweet heat sauce. The brisket was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, the ribs had the perfect bark and fall-off-the-bone texture, and the pulled pork was juicy and delicious. Their house-made sauces (especially the honey-based ones with just the right touch of tangy sweetness and a little kick) elevate everything--I've never tasted BBQ quite like this Nashville twist on tradition. Sides were equally outstanding: the baked beans had a great depth of flavor, the mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, and the sweet corn pudding was a standout. Everything felt fresh, generous, and made with care. Service was friendly and efficient--true Southern hospitality that made us feel like family. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, this spot delivers every time. If you're in Nashville (or driving through Bellevue), do yourself a favor and head to Honey Fire BBQ on Sawyer Brown Rd. It's become my new go-to for outstanding barbecue. Highly recommend. I will definitely return and bring friends. From our family to yours--thank you, Honey Fire!
