The portions were generous, big enough that you're not leaving hungry, and maybe even with leftovers for later. The spring rolls missed the mark for me. They lacked the veggie crunch I was hoping for and didn't have that crispy, golden snap that makes spring rolls irresistible. Instead, they leaned a bit on the soggy side, which left me wanting more texture and flavor balance. Overall, Hawaii Steak & Seafood House is one of those spots where you'll walk out full and satisfied portion-wise. The hibachi veggies shined, but a few other items could use a little fine-tuning. The Buffet is all you can eat. They offer Iced Tea and Water with buffet. All other drinks you have to pay for. The Show itself was Amazing. Watching how they interacted with each other was really enjoyable. You could feel the camaraderie among them. The Dancers were Amazing and Graceful. Wish I could move like that. My folks are not the photo takers that I am so if they did this and I didn't recall the mention, there is no photo evidence to the matter so here we go. Presented at the St. John's Inn, the event takes over what appeared to be the entire inside event space. Once the line moved the crowd inside we were greeted by staff in traditional garb and handed leis. Another person played a ukelele to welcome everyone and it set the mood. Inside were all the tables, the stage of course and a small gift shop with items that had an island flare along with a pay per drink bar. The food was set up as a buffet and there was some pork, a fish dish, chicken along with a couple of vegetables and some rice. Some have balked about this being all that was set up to eat but I was actually okay with it. I admit that I thought there would be more along the lines of seafood but I am fussy about that stuff for the most part. The emcee/host was also a part of the musical group that performed a few radio hits with an island flair and I got a kick out of this and then it was time for all of the island presentations. It's difficult to describe it all but there was lots of hula being done by lovely dancers, along with a menacing Haka dance. Then a pause in the night happened while a protective netting was set up between the stage and the patrons and this was done to prevent any accidents with the batons and assorted other items that were used during the fire performance. This was a super exciting part of the night and I give credit the performers for their skills and amazing display. My high rating was mainly because I had a really fun time and had never been to anything like this before in my life. Macaroni salad tasted similar to Food Lion macaroni salad, not great. The Huli Huli chicken was strangely cold-if that was on purpose, it was not good cold. After I warmed it up, it tasted better, but not great. It was made with store-bought salsa and canned pineapple chunks. Pork sliders were ok, came on two small Hawaiian buns with a side of sweet canned pineapple chunks. I was disappointed in the food. I wouldn't try this food truck again.
