Service was exceptional till I found out they didn't put flounder in box. Let lady know at counter. She takes fork and looks under shrimp and then asks to see my receipt. lol. Service 2/5 Hamburger 3.8/5 nicely seasoned but on the dry side and tomato I requested was missing. Ambiance was laid back 5/5 Wait time 3/5 waited about 30 minutes. When waiting a long time u (i) expect everything to be hot, it was not. Fried flounder 3.9/5 Onion rings 4/5 nicely seasoned but not hot. Hushpuppies 4/5 Fries 3.8/5 Fried shrimp 3.9/5 Slaw 4/5 Mustard sauce 4/5 Cocktail sauce 4/5 Tartar sauce 3.9/5 Some special sauce 4.2/5 Wasn't asked what kind of dressing I wanted on salad therefore I ended up with none. First time going there with our ladies group! You order your food n pay, they call your ticket number when your food is ready. Not more than 10 minutes. I ordered a Gyro which would have been excellent if the sauce didn't taste like ranch dressing! All but one of the ladies enjoyed their meals. I would go back n try something else. My sister mentioned that she came across a spot on TikTok that everyone was talking about--apparently, they serve huge portions of seafood at a reasonable price. Honestly, there wasn't much convincing needed. She had me at seafood, big portions, and affordable prices, so I was like, let's go. When we got there, the parking lot was pretty full, so we expected a bit of a wait once we went inside. They do have a drive-thru, but since this was our first time and we weren't exactly sure what we wanted to order, we decided to go inside instead. For it being our first visit, we ordered quite a few things: shrimp platters, a hamburger just to try it out, and even a couple of hot dogs. When the food came out, they weren't kidding about the huge portions. You get a lot of food--served in what looks like a medium-sized pizza box, overflowing and a bit greasy. But the food was good. I really enjoyed the shrimp and fries, and the hushpuppies, fried okra were good too. I didn't care too much for the hot dogs or the hamburger, or salad, the bake potato. The grill shrimp was ok but to be fair, when I go to a seafood place, I usually stick to seafood. When I post the photos, you'll see just how much food they give you. Overall, the food was good and the service was solid. Would I go back? Probably. I'd likely check out a few other seafood spots in the area just to compare, but if I couldn't find another option, I'd definitely come back here and order the shrimp platter again. read more

HONEST REVIEW!!!! They give you a TON of food. However, the wait is too long and the food is not well seasoned. Our order was missing the fish but was easily resolved. If you want a ton of hot fried bland food, this is the place for you! The customer service was excellent but unfortunately I don't think I'd return. First visit here and we were loving the minute we walked in the door. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is very welcoming. We ordered the calabash dinner and the old fashioned. The plates have more than enough food. I think I finished 1/4 of the platter and needed a to box. Same with my husband. Everything is flavorful and not too greasy. We were shocked by the prices because we thought it could be more compared to the amount of food we received. We will definitely be back. read more

I hadn't been to Jumping J's in years until yesterday when I happened to be in the area. I had yesterday's Shrimp special which came with 2 sides. I got homemade onion rings, a side salad and complimentary hushpuppies. I ordered online and picked it up shortly after via drive-thru. The gentleman who gave me my food was very welcoming and had a winning smile. My food was hot, tasty and filling. I also had the strawberry shortcake. I was stuffed and very satisfied. Nice family restaurant. Baked potatoes and chicken are very good. I like the grilled chicken. Hope they are offering a gluten free meal, now, or a non spicy vegan dish. Wait staff and cashier's are nice and cordal, as I remember. I have not eaten there lately, as I'm on a special diet, similar to the Mediterranean Diet. I went to Jumping J on Saturday November 29th, 2025. It wasn't busy so I was expecting some great food. I ordered the Saturday special. The shrimp dinner. The cashier was fantastic. He provided excellent customer service. The food was hot but it tasted nasty. The grease was old or the shrimp needed to be thrown away. I was so disappointed. I took it home to my family to make sure it just wasn't me. Sure enough it was nasty to them as well. Food is too high to be wasted. read more

Driven by many times, always crowded, finally stopped. Located beside Maryland Fried chicken on S Irby St, Flo. Was in search of a healthy meal saw reviews of the flounder platter decided had to try. This restaurant has variety of burgers/seafood platters, all the fish items are breaded except grilled shrimp which my wife requested. Breaking down my meal, the breading is very thin so can just pick off for fresh hot flounder, yummy. The coleslaw has similar taste to Bojangles if you know what talking bout so that's good. The circle battered items are hush puppies not onion rings, the shrimp were small but the amount given makes up for this. Also included are side of fries, all this in one platter for $12.95 that is value. Side note, my wife felt her gizzards were not thoroughly cooked for her taste so this could vary person to person. So to wrap up, very good portion for money. Due to amount of food I would definitely utilize drive-through next time as it is nearly 3 meals worth depending on your appetite. read more

Classic food in Florence! If you leave hungry it's your own fault! The fried seafood platters are large enough to feed a family of four.

Wonderful. The service was down home. The flounder was fried good and seasoned. I love the slaw. Portions were fabulous. You will leave satisfied, and with leftovers. The burger was cooked great with bacon fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Tons of fries. The Fried pork chops were cooked well and seasoned to the bone. The interior was very clean. The menu is very broad. From the outside, this looks like it was once a McDonald's. But now it's not. It's a nice fast casual restaurant. I opted for the gyro and my number was called out shortly afterwards. A nice sized pita stuffed with meat and veggies and a dollop of almost-but-not-quite tzatziki sauce (not enough dill/parsley/mint), it was great. The fries were cooked properly but were too salty. There was some confusion as each cashier was generating orders and they were numbered the same... I location has burgers and such, seafood and chicken. All meals come with fries and onion rings and a small salad with homemade thousand Island dressing. . Some folks ordered salads. I ordered a fried pork chop dinner. The chops were cooked to perfection and all the sides were very large. I would suggest one should order this for 2 persons. All portions are huge. Highly suggest you view the health department records before eating here. Staff with long hair doesn't keep their pulled back, i personally have found long blonde hair in my food, videos of roach infestation on Facebook posted by an employee. One year for Ash Friday my family and I (6 of us) ordered dinner. I use to frequent the place when I lived in town and always try to swing by on my way through or when I am visiting. The food is fantastic and always fresh. There honestly isn't anything on the menu that I have tried that I didn't like, but the chicken salad platter and cheeseburger tray are highly recommended. Or, you can just order a pint of chicken salad which is always a big hit and will make several delicious sandwiches for a hungry family or group of friends. The staff has always been friendly. Everything is jumping at jumping J's we rolled up into florence and went to jumping J's and I must say I'm a give it a new name fried fish florence because that's all I remembered about Florence was the good food that we had at the jumping J's the fried flounder was HUGE! so we had to take half of it home and then we came back the next night for some more fried fish at the jumping J's. Great value for quantity I stopped at one in Freedom, SC that was my first encounter.

Portions and service are always great. Had the hamburger today and hubby had shrimp. Both were more than we could eat.

I really been wanting seafood for a good two week. My husband aunt was telling me about Jumping J's how it was sooo good and they give you your money's worth. So I'm like ok let me look on yelp. Only a few reviews all good though and only three photos. So I took her word and went down there myself. Ummmm nice, clean and great customer service. When I got my food I took pictures at the counter and ask the cashier could she video the menu.
