I was late by 12 minutes today and the woman checking me in announced to everyone we were late and they would have to work us back into the schedule. Not a good practice of announcing when a client is late when clients so frequently have to wait beyond their initial appointment time.

I needed a crown. I was given an agreed upon price for the work to be done. Received a bill above…read morethe agreed price and brought it to my tech, Amber, in the Mechanicsville office, the day of my appointment and she took it to the billing office, then brought it back and told me not to worry about it because they "would just write it off". Fast forward, I received another bill so I call and suddenly Amber's information is incorrect to the tune of over $400. Never again will I use them. Never will I recommend them.

The staff at VFD has been so patient with me through the years and has partnered with me to achieve the smile of my dreams! They answer all my questions and help to provide an accurate quote for any out of pocket expenses I may have. So what's it like going to the dentist during a pandemic? Surprisingly it's pretty normal,going to the dentist during COVID was a major concern for me. I'm happy to report VFD is doing an amazing job keeping everyone healthy and safe. They have limited seating in the waiting area, mask are required. Both the dentist and hygienist wear both a mask and a face shield and there is hand sanitizer everywhere! Long story short if there was a cleanliness award during the pandemic VFD would easily win the award!

Over the next couple of years I watched my smile transform and I got to know his great staff. Tara and Katie made every adjustment painless and always approached each appointment with a smile. When it waa all done I had the smile I always wanted. Now my 8 year old daughter needs an orthodontic intervention so my next so was Horsey Orthodontics and we were not disappointed. The staff has been great and they quickly alleviated her fears. One again this process getting started was quick and easy.

While the…read moreexperience was pleasant during the time of treatment, today I received the most disgusting display of professionalism - post care. My daughter received a regular retainer after treatment however with her being 12 at the time she lost it!! I went back to Horsey and it was suggested to go with the permanent retainer as an alternative to her "losing it" again. I paid the $250.00 fee and the permanent retainer was placed. I was told that day, she should continue to wear the tray retainer at nights for a week and we went on our way..... fast forward 6 months later- I started noticing my daughter was beginning to form a gap, I called Horsey and came in for a visit. I was told she needed to have a 8 month treatment plan because the retainer broke and it would cost me additional money. I explained to them that I have a permanent retainer myself for well over 10 years and I haven't had an issue with mines nor have my teeth moved as I don't wear my tray at night ( this was one of the excuses I was told - my daughter was the wear the tray every night) I asked to have someone look into this issue because I didn't think it was fair to spend an additional substantial amount of money after spending well over 5k for the treatment. At this point the Dr and nurses in the back were very professional and understood my concerns. I spoke with a young lady at the front of the office, she identified herself as the "office manager, or office coordinator", I explained my situation to her and off the bat she said "it's my responsibility to make sure my child is wearing her retainer " I explained to her that I was told the permanent retainer should've fixed any issues and we were only instructed to wear it for a week. This young lady was at times combative, rolled her eyes at me and was very dismissive. She even had the nerve to lie and say I received the retainer for free, she quickly back tracked after I said I could show my receipt that I paid for it. At this point I have reserved a consult with another orthodontist, I'd rather spend the additional money elsewhere than to give it to this business.

I have been going to this dental office since moving to VA 3+ years ago. I have always felt…read morecomfortable here. Yesterday I had one of my crowns pop off (been on so long I dont even remember). I called to see when I could get in to get it re-cemented, and I was offered a next day appt which was AMAZING! Thanks to the office staff, Dr Nash and Tonya for seeing me today! I will see y'all soon to get a new crown put on. Amber A.
