My daughter received treatment at the Parham Rd location under the care of Dr Horsey.... While the experience was pleasant during the time of treatment, today I received the most disgusting display of professionalism - post care. My daughter received a regular retainer after treatment however with her being 12 at the time she lost it!! I went back to Horsey and it was suggested to go with the permanent retainer as an alternative to her "losing it" again. I paid the $250.00 fee and the permanent retainer was placed. I was told that day, she should continue to wear the tray retainer at nights for a week and we went on our way..... fast forward 6 months later- I started noticing my daughter was beginning to form a gap, I called Horsey and came in for a visit. I was told she needed to have a 8 month treatment plan because the retainer broke and it would cost me additional money. I explained to them that I have a permanent retainer myself for well over 10 years and I haven't had an issue with mines nor have my teeth moved as I don't wear my tray at night ( this was one of the excuses I was told - my daughter was the wear the tray every night) I asked to have someone look into this issue because I didn't think it was fair to spend an additional substantial amount of money after spending well over 5k for the treatment. At this point the Dr and nurses in the back were very professional and understood my concerns. I spoke with a young lady at the front of the office, she identified herself as the "office manager, or office coordinator", I explained my situation to her and off the bat she said "it's my responsibility to make sure my child is wearing her retainer " I explained to her that I was told the permanent retainer should've fixed any issues and we were only instructed to wear it for a week. This young lady was at times combative, rolled her eyes at me and was very dismissive. She even had the nerve to lie and say I received the retainer for free, she quickly back tracked after I said I could show my receipt that I paid for it. At this point I have reserved a consult with another orthodontist, I'd rather spend the additional money elsewhere than to give it to this business. read more

The quality of the services are going down. My 13 year old daughter was asked on her braces removal appointment to make a decision instead of asking her mom. She got very nervous how can she make decision if her braces should or shouldn't be removed and apparently Dr Horsey is too busy to see the patients. really bad experience never going to refer anyone. read more

Dr. Horsey and his team are absolutely AMAZING! When I first went in for a consultation, I met with Melissa and Dr. Horsey himself to discuss the best braces option for me. I wanted to get braces what weren't too noticeable (I was in undergrad at the time). We were able to make an appointment soon after to get the braces on. They explained everything really well to me and provided everything i needed in order to keep my braces clean and hygienic. I have to say, Tara is my FAVORITE technician! Recently changed their appointment structure - used to be able to schedule appointments around my work schedule. Was informed that my child's braces can ONLY be removed at 8:30 am (my workday starts at 9 am). I now have to choose between the braces coming off or potentially losing my job because (according to my employer) there's "no reason I should need to take additional time off since I have afternoons free." read more

The white leather seating in the luxury waiting room should be your first clue that the office isn't geared for children. The one staff member Abby, is the best thing the office has. We had numerous problems with hardware falling off and the staff insisted it was my young child's fault, to the point of her no longer feeling she could eat anything. Dr. Horsey has no compassion and only places blame on the patients never once stops to say maybe he or his staff made an error. They publish evening hours but are never available. read more

Dr.horsey and his team are so nice and friendly. Whenever i see dr.horsey he has a special smile and he talks really friendly. I been going there for 2 years. Getting ready for braces off surgery first. They take pride in what they do. The ladies there are the cheerleaders and dr.horsey is the coach since he tells them what to do.He does like how all his patients the same regardless. I pick them since i like how there right near me. I started the treatment senior year at northstar off of sharder road. Perfect location. Our son received braces in January and it's been a great experience so far. Both my husband and I had adult braces so we can relate to some of the temporary discomfort and eating behavior changes required. (Braces are a commitment!) I was excited about the removal of my braces Feb 2016. Once the swelling of my gums went down I noticed that there were spaces and I still have a slight over bite. I have spoken with Dr. Horsey and he just continues to tighten up my retainer and suggested I wear it all day. It has been 8 months and I still have the spaces in addition to that it is very uncomfortable to try to talk at work with a retainer in my mouth. I have gotten 2 other opinions and both orthodontics agreed that there was an over bite and I would need braces again. I suggested permanent retainers because my daughter got them when she completed her treatment with Dr. Villa's office. I wish I would have used Dr. Villa. My daughter's case was worse than mine but she got better results. If I want treatment from another orthodontics it is going to cost me about $3000.00. I have also moved out of Richmond and I live over a hour away from the office. This is a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend this office to at all. read more
