Alpaca Direct is a great source for yarn, patterns and good customer service. I recently found a pattern I want to make for my great niece. From the yarn manufacturer's web site I could not tell which solid and variegated color looks good with a variegated one. I called AlpacaDirect and was told Kelly was the best one to tell me. I talked to Kelly who pulled the yarn in question with others that coordinate well. She also had a picture of the yarns texted to me so I could see for myself. They asked for this review on the blackboard of their store.... For a small storefront the selection is ok, more of a web-order place. The real complaint, their customer service is terrible. They have very invasive email usage policies and when I've complained more than once they are not very responsive. For example, an $8 in store purchase generated 4 emails in less than 24 hours. If you don't mind this then this may be a great place to shop. For me, I'll spend my money someplace that respects my preferences. Also, they are very hungry for feedback, big request on black board in store and one of the emails was requesting feedback... yet when I called to complain, I was told I was nasty.... so here is the feedback they so desperately only want if it is positive. read more

I have never meet a more wonderful group of ladies! I am new here and I have a love for alpaca products, so naturally one of the first things I did is search for a store that pertaind to my intrest. Oh! How I found a golden ticket! They had the most beautiful and vibrant yarn. They had all the tools you would need. They have knitting groups and a bunch of wonderful people there willing to help and answer any questions. They have alpaca socks, gloves,plushes, and the most amazing slippers that this planet has ever seen. They are sheep on the inside and the most amazing soft and lush alpaca fur on the outside. You know when something is so soft it's almost like you can't feel it because your skin is just like "what is this amazingness that has graced my presence?!?!!?!?" Well that was my experience and when I found out they were under $60 I knew they were coming home with me. This place is wonderful. I have nothing but positive things to say about this lovely place. You will definitely find wonderful products, wonderful people, and I can promise you that you'll walk out of there with some new friends too. :) read more
