Long story short, Dr. Edwards gave me subpar care and ignored my personal health wishes and the…read moreinstructions of other health professionals I've seen. I was made to feel like a hypochondriac when I may be suffering from a life-altering chronic illness. My new OBGYN is running tests for cancer and other serious illnesses on me, something Dr. Edwards' would have never done because of her mishandling of my care. As an undergraduate student who is a research assistant, honor's student, and completing graduate credits at the same time, I consider myself an intelligent person who likes to keep tabs on the specifics of my health. This is to say that I'm not stupid and I know not to believe everything you read on the internet when it comes to health. I have many medical professionals in my family and so I am familiar with some terminology and how some medicines interact with each other. Dr. Edwards undermined previous advice that I had received from other professionals as well as my own personal wishes for my health. She made me feel like a hypochondriac instead of someone who has been suffering with a chronic illness for their entire post-pubescent life. 1. I have a cyst on my ovary that I have been told by 3 medical professionals needs to be removed. Without looking at my records, Dr. Edwards continually talked over me and told me that it would go away on its own. After looking at my records, she discovered it was a dermoid cyst/teratoma tumor, which don't go away on their own. Worst case, they can rupture and cause severe damage to my reproductive system or give me sepsis which can be life threatening. I've already been to emergency rooms before for fear of a twisted ovary. Doubling down, she told me that I "still don't need surgery if it's not giving me pain" and that I wasn't in pain at that moment. I told her I have flare ups like any illness. The fact that she doubled down after being told other professionals recommended a different course of action instead of acknowledging my knowledge of my own condition was extremely disheartening. 2. I want my IUD removed and not replaced. Because she continued to interrupt me on this issue, she did not remember that I did not want a replacement or did not listen to me in the first place. She only interjected with how we could do an IUD replacement while avoiding surgery because surgery was unnecessary, and that the Mirena is approved for 8 years so I can keep it in. Girl, do you like your job? Do you want to do things to help people? Everything I requested for my own health seemed to her like I was making a big fuss over nothing, and she contradicted everything I wanted for myself. Anyhow, proof of her not listening was that I was contacted a week after the appointment to confirm the order of a new IUD. 3. I take a biotin supplement for hair growth because of my androgenic alopecia, a symptom I didn't even get to tell her about because I felt she had blown off my other hormonal symptoms. She ordered a thyroid test to test my TSH and T4 levels, which are notoriously affected by high doses of biotin and can cause false negatives for hypothyroidism. My family have thyroid issues, and as a non-medical research-minded student I was able to find tons of literature that supports this by just going to Google Scholar. It's not that hard! I told Dr. Edwards that I take this supplement and it may affect the test. She told me since "the test would be negative anyhow", that it didn't matter. First, if you know the results, I should not be paying for an additional test. Second, biotin causes false negatives for hypothyroidism, so saying the test will be negative is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy. 4. I was called multiple times by the office to "confirm" I had switched providers. I told them kindly that I had done this when they called about my IUD, but they called about my ultrasound soon after. When I told them kindly again, thinking they must have not heard me the first time, the receptionist said "Yes, I see this, I'm just confirming this is the case." I'm confused as to why an office would call under the pretext of scheduling a new appointment to continually ask me if my final answer is "no" Make the drive to Villa Rica Tanner. They are amazing and are finally addressing my symptoms and are testing me to determine if I have PCOS or a similarly presenting chronic disease. I'm already making lifestyle changes due to the diligence of these healthcare professionals and I already feel great. Do not set foot in this office. The receptionist is a sweetheart, but that's it.

Dr. Ashley never called me with my results or uploaded the results. Instead she insisted for me to come into the office to discuss this matter which I had to pay and additional $193 dollars. During the process called the office numerous times for my results that she refused to discuss over the phone and never called me back. I am still waiting on a call from Dr. Ashley or even a member of her team. After my pain progressing because of her negligence of care I ended up developing an infection which I went into urgent care to be treated. This all could have been avoided if Dr. Ashley was responsive to my care. I have never experienced a process like this and I DO NOT recommend visiting this clinic or this doctor.

I was even going to a location further from my house. JUST 10 days before my appointment THEY cancelled with me. Just shows me they do not care about their clients. Terrible practice. Probably for the best I never have to deal with them again. They have made it very difficult for me to find care before the end of the year. TERRIBLE. Don't book an appointment.
