Alpha martial arts is a fantastic place for little kids, my daughter started at 4 and loved it right away. Today Master Woo hosted her 5th birthday party and it was perfect. He calmly managed a group of 15, 3 to 6 year olds for an hour and a half! They had so much fun doing an obstacle course, kicking and punching. Master Woo is fantastic with kids. After three years, my son still attends Taekwondo classes at Alpha Martial Arts, and he's still loving it. The classes are twice a week, with belt testing occurring on average every four months. The class sizes aren't capped, but it seems to average about 10 students per session (fluctuations are usually due to make up courses or black belt students participating/assisting in instruction and demonstration). Master Woo provides clear, authoritative instruction, and the students listen. He is attentive, and when his black belt students are present, they also provide an excellent level of instruction and close-to-one-on-one follow up. The 40-minute course structure usually starts with about 10 to 20 minutes of core and aerobic activities, and the rest being Taekwondo instruction. The instruction ranges from practicing hand techniques/Poomsae, reinforcing different types of kicks, and one-on-one sparring. It's also very reciprocal in that the students seem to be as committed - never displaying any disrespect and taking things seriously. read more

Great class! I signed up for adult class after trying out trial classes. Gives me great workout and learned some self defense techniques already. Also, loved the fact do-bok (the white uniform top and bottom) is included with registration! Master woo is a great teacher with knowledge and patience. We have had our kids in Alpha Martial Arts since the summer of 2021. Even before we officially joined the class, Master Woo scheduled time to meet with our kids to give them a brief intro to the class and to get a sense from us what we were looking for our kids to get out of taking Taekwondo and how our kids felt about it. Hands down the only place for taekwondo training in the area. Master Woo manages to corral a dozen 4-6 into respectful order in a way I can't manage with two kids. After a few months, my kiddo is already showing more self confidence, focus, and body control. As an adult taking fitness classes from Master Woo every week, I would have to say it is surely a fabulous experience. He not only takes care of us individually but strives to strengthen us physically and mentally. His trainings varies evertime. Great! My kids were one of the first ones to register, and they are having a great time! The head instructor is Korean, and from the first days, he taught them many different techniques on self defense. The kids say that he is fun and is really interactive. I personally think that this is an excellent way to work out and exercise, running around with other friends, stretching, and throwing in a couple kicks and punches. They are learning hand techniques and basic kicks currently, and even learning some new Korean vocabulary.
