It couldn't have been any more of a debacle, and ended with the owner not taking one ounce of blame and gaslighting me. He ended his rebuttal saying he didn't want my business. Thanks, pal, you did me a solid. I rapidly called ACE Handyman Service Grand Strand as their reviews were superior, as well, I just saw Tools on Call, first. They got back to me/us right away and we were put on the schedule as soon as there was an opening to satisfy the potential time it would take for the jobs. They also provided an estimate which I believe was very fair. The appointment was was less than a week later and first thing in the morning. The Handyman, Robert, contacted us on the way over to my sisters, and was early, at that. I was told that he was like Santa in that he went right to the work and banged everything out expertly and promptly. He was extremely respectful, professional, and genuine in personability to my sister - a single person, and never a question of safety or trust whatsoever. Robert finished the jobs in less time than was originally estimated, and ACE Hardware fairly deducted the time difference and original estimate. I would definitely use them again. They are fair, trustworthy, honest, hard-working, experts, and unlike my first experience, exactly what I was looking for being almost a thousand miles away. Thank you so much....especially Robert. The worker was nice, but the job took far too long. He was even called away for about 2 hours in the middle of the job. He never mentioned that a ton of dust would be created when cutting through grout, and did not attempt to put up plastic, so the entire house was covered in micro-dust just 2 weeks after the house was freshly painted. The owner called me after I inquired about the silica dust, but didn't offer any help for the extra charge or mess created. They are coming back today to fix issues created when they did the job the first time. I would not recommend them.

Luke's was one company we called. Marshall Holmes quoted us (he beat all other quotes), and repaired a few "emergency" panels immediately and returned soon after to repair the rest. He arrived both times when he said he would, no waiting around for him to show. He did amazing work and you can tell by sight and touch that the screens are higher quality and expertly installed. A month later they sent me an invoice for the full amount. I called, they'd lost the check. I gave them a credit card to pay the bill. 6 weeks later, they cashed my check. I called, spoke with Justin who apologized and assured me they'd write me a check to cover the overpayment. 2 months later, zip, nothing, nada. They dont answer my calls, texts, or emails. He sent 2 guys, rushed them the entire time they were there, underestimated truck space, left 2 storage units, an attic, and a garage untouched, damaged the home I was loving out of requiring emergency repairs, lost keys to storage units costing me lock cutting and replacement fees, lost hardware to my safety gates, requiring a last minute pet smart run on move in night, during which I was harassed by Michael for having left my home that I needed to secure, even though I bought the laborers dinner and still returned before they were done. Half of my belongings were destroyed, and things were thrown in boxes and not cared for properly. They left furniture in places I couldn't move, large boxes stacked to the ceiling, and a complete state of chaos. Michael refused to fix it, paid me no money back, refused insurance info, and ceased contact. When a certified letter was sent to his home, he lied to the postal service. They were also at the time operating without a legally registered business license, per Horry County.

Upon inspection he found some hail damage & all I'd have to pay for a new roof was my deductible. I asked how much will my premium go up? He told me it wouldn't being an act of God! Being I only had a $1000 deductible I said if you can give me a new roof for $1000 knock yourself out! He contacted my insurance company, called in a claim & had an adjuster come out and check it out. I didn't have to do a thing. The adjuster agreed with Anthony & approved the job. This is an awful company. They are in Myrtle Beach, but supposedly service Summerville. Well,…read morethey serviced us for installation, but not for real service /repairs. Our lights were not working on one side of the awning. They charged almost $200 to come out, and say we needed a new motor. They were going to charge another "trip" charge to do the installation. We had an electrician that we trusted come out and he made a very minor repair for $100. Affordabe Awning agreed to return the first payment as they didn't do anything, and made an incorrect diagnosis. Now, there is something else wrong with the awning... coming out unevenly ....only 2 years old. We will try to find some other way to correct this problem. Will never deal with this company again. They say their awnings are under warranty, but charge a large trip charge because they're in Myrtle Beach...not our problem!
