I ordered through Uber but the food was so fresh, and was such quick service for how much food we had ordered! The pricing was really well, for around 8 people it cost less than $200! Now when it comes to the food, everything we ordered was so amazing! There was so much flavour and everything was beyond delicious! We ordered so much food including a Shawarma platter that came with so much sides including hummus, garlic sauce, fattoush salad and rice. A bunch of hype on this place so me and my partner happened to be in toronto so we came by to give it a try. Inside was busy alot of people in line but orders were completed pretty fast. The food was decent. A little more on the expensive side. The amount of meat is good but normally the plate comes with a wrap on the side which this did not. The amount of rice and potatoes were not alot compared to the meat. Hotsauce was not spicy. The wrap was okay. The beef was a little on the dryer side of beef shwarma. based on my single experience here, I won't be back a visit that featured a sticky floor, fruit flies in the dining area and lack luster wilted veggies, this was not for me. this was highly recommended by a friend but absolutely missed the mark from the food standpoint on multiple fronts. the service and the staff were ok, the person who took my order left half way through preparing my meal which will forever be odd to me, the reason why this was bad is that the person who took my topping order took it verbally, but didn't relay the into onto the person taking over which didnt help the good experience maybe this was a one off visit, but i wouldn't take the chance again to find out read more

My friend... Since I tried this place, I've been back twice. It's bloody good. When businesses get it right, there's an energy about the place. It feels right. There are always patrons and the people behind the counter seem natural at their jobs. They are happy, they move around and serve like it's second nature. I came here for the second time yesterday and I was quite disappointed that I clearly told the cashier I wanted the extra meat on top of the shawarma, but they didn't give it until I told the person making the shawarma, I got the chicken shawarma and it did not taste good at all. They gave a little bit of pomegranate molasses and it didn't look like the beef shawarma at all, now I think Sumaq is way better than alpha shawarma, they make their own bread fresh, I can tell the quality of meat at Sumaq is way better than alpha, alpha chicken shawarma was not juicy it tasted very underwhelming, I think the best thing here is the beef shawarma, but I'm not coming back here anymore alpha is now the worst shawarma in Toronto read more

Arguably one of the best shawarma spots in downtown Toronto. We went to alpha's on a weekday evening and it was packed. The restaurant is pretty small and narrow, so you need to squeeze through to place your order at the cashier. There is limited seating at the back and washrooms are in the basement. We got the chicken shawarma Arabic style, which included fries inside the wrap. They used saj bread and perfectly toasted it before giving to us. Prices are affordable for what you get and the ingredients are fresh. Fast service. Unfortunately we had to walk to Trinity Bellwoods to eat because it was too busy in the restaurant. read more

Creamy garlic sauce, pickles, fries, pomegranate molasses in SAJ bread made this so uniquely flavourful. We're here for National Shawarma Day, October 14th and shawarmas were only $5! I think they are regularly around $11 but still worth it. It's very filling. The ambiance was very clean with seating in the back. The restaurant replaced an old classic diner that's been there for decades. The service was very friendly and fast. Of all the shawarma places I walked by on the way here, this was the only one with an actual line, and we ended up waiting 30 mins for the a $5 chicken shawarma. The shawarma itself was pretty good. What really stood out to me was their toasted saaj bread, and the plentiful pickles and radishes in the shawarma. The chicken itself was solid but I would've liked more charred pieces, but I understand that's tough on a day as busy as today. Finally their garlic sauce was just okay, I would've preferred it to be a lot more garlicky, but they have a great hot sauce which helped bring the flavour I needed. If you have specific requests, it's a good idea to remind the people packing your food, as they can sometimes forget special requests due to their busyness. I asked for a chicken shawarma plate with fries, no veggies, and no hummus. The person prepping my food accidentally put hummus in the container, but when I told him I wanted no hummus, he was happy to fix it and passed my request to the next station. The other person at the next station also ensured that I was getting what I asked for. Holy cow, the portion size here is crazy! I asked if I could get some pickles and turnips on my rice, and they were happy to give them to me at no extra cost. Everything is pretty much self-serve (like getting your own utensils and such), but it's a straightforward system. Wow. This place is great, I'm surprised there weren't any reviews on Yelp but I'm happy to be the first! The restaurant is very clean and there's lots of seating in the back. The owners are very friendly and the service is quick. There's LOTS of filling and sauce options, you can really customize your meal to fit your palette. They also use lavash bread which they toast and it gets nice and crispy on the outside. The shawarma is HIGH QUALITY. Very fresh, perfectly cooked. Everything from the vegetables to the sauces worked well together and there wasn't a dry bite. The flavour was very savoury and a little sour from the picked veggies, I feel like a touch more sweetness would've balanced it out beautifully. Other than that, it's an affordable, quick and tasty meal option if you're in the area. I'd highly recommend checking them out! ***UPDATE: My second experience was a 5/5 star experience thanks to the the Shawarma Plate. Their rice is god tier! I was expecting to have the best shawarma in the city but it fell short because of the oil smell in the shawarma sandwich. I'm not sure if it's from the grill that they heated the sandwich on or the grease from the chicken. Either way, it wasn't pleasant. All the fixings inside the sandwich, including the spreads, veggies and sauces, are pretty generous and bulks up the sandwich nicely. Overall, it was an ok experience. read more

My mom is visiting and I realized they had a bug 1 get one special on the quarter of a chicken platter. Let me say the portions were not disappointing.
