I specifically searched for one the closest to the border with good reviews and Provet Clinica showed up. Since originally discovering this vet in 2025, I have been taking not only my dogs, but I am also a pet sitter so I offer to take client's dogs. I have probably been to his office over 20x's in the past year and he has been amazing. He is knowledgeable, explains everything in detail and even uses a white board and draws pictures to make it easy to understand. He is honest and his prices are amazing. If you're searching for a vet in Mexico that is easy to find and super close to the border, do not hesitate to go. It is on a first come first serve basis, but if you arrive 15 minutes before they open, it's typically a 30 minute wait. There is limited parking but I'm always able to find street parking and have never had any issues with either my vehicle or ever felt unsafe. Very kind staff and even the people who live there and the other clients who go to his office are very friendly.

PLEASE BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL! I strongly recommend avoiding this establishment. If you must go there…read morebecause of an emergency and have no other alternative, keep your belongings under constant supervision and do not let them out of your sight for even a moment. My iPhone disappeared during my visit. Four hours later, when I was already entering the United States and had an internet connection through my husband's phone, the tracking system continued to show my device inside this establishment. I immediately requested to review the security-camera footage. However, they allowed me to watch only a very short clip and refused to show me the rest. While I was asking for an explanation, two employees whispered to each other, exchanged looks, and sent messages while reviewing the videos. Their behavior significantly increased my concern and distrust. Later, when I formally requested the recordings, they claimed to have reviewed all the footage and insisted that I did not have a phone with me. This version of events is completely contradictory: I used that same device in front of the veterinarian and other employees to show them the official government requirements needed to issue my pet's travel certificate. The veterinarian also pressured me to purchase a deworming product that had already been administered to my Sphynx cat only two days earlier. I presented the product that had been used, its original packaging, and the instructions from the veterinarian who treated my pet during our trip to Playa del Carmen. Nevertheless, she claimed that she did not believe the treatment had been administered because the product had not been purchased from their establishment. They required me to purchase another product exclusively from them, even though I could not administer it to my pet again because repeating the treatment so soon would not have been appropriate. They warned me that if I did not make the purchase, they would issue an incomplete travel certificate. I formally requested a copy of the security footage in writing. They refused to provide it and offered only an in-person viewing, expecting me to return to the same place where my phone disappeared and where, for obvious reasons, I no longer feel safe. The matter has already been reported to the appropriate authorities. I would not return under any circumstances. In total, this visit caused me more than USD 1,500 in expenses and losses, in addition to the wasted time, distress, and numerous problems resulting from my phone's disappearance.

We've been coming here for several years now for vaccinations for our chihuahua. Located a few miles from the Otay border, I noticed the place when I was having work done on my vehicle at a nearby shop. I dropped in one day and saw the prices, which totally wooed me back! It had started to become inconvenient and expensive here(in US) for us. The prices are super reasonable and of course much lower than anywhere in the US. The quality and level of care is equal to if not better here, yes, believe it! Note: Take the time to exchange dollars into pesos, to avoid miscalculations and improper change back from transactions. On our occasional visits, there has been only one quality, licensed veterinarian that does all the exams and vaccines. Actually, we like this. He remembers our dog even though we come only once a year, and this goes a long way with us. He scolded my wife when she confessed to giving our little dog pork & chicken bones. I warned her.. More of a personal touch. It's never been a long wait time, and we can drop off the dog and hit Wicho's across the street, or shop at Soriana, which happens to be in the same parking lot. We always call ahead,(which I recommend)to make sure the doctor is in that day. It is a full on pet and feed store too with many items for cats, dogs, birds, chickens, etc. They have found a customer for life!!
