Our shelter pup has been getting regular walks from Dro and the crew at AlphaPet for six years. We could not be happier and recommend them wholeheartedly. They care about and love their pack. These are not skimpy little jaunts around the neighborhood; she is gone for hours each walk and the sand on her paws and occasional sea smells in her fur are evidence of her glorious days spent romping at Fort Funston. She had been a challenging dog for her past walkers who were unable or unwilling to offer the attention and skill that brings out the best in her. As one example we get to witness at home, our dog has long been a barker and a jumper, and regularly greets anyone who is not us with a cascade of piercing barks and jumps when the door opens or the doorbell rings. Dro manages to discourage this behavior, while maintaining absolute calm and control of the situation. He makes eye contact and tells her to "sit, mama." He also tells us when on occasion she's had a hard time focusing and gets to be on the leash for the beach time to keep her out of trouble. Dro and his team have been awesome partners in caring for and tiring out our high energy Vizsla over the past five years. They're dependable and professional. Dro at AlphaPet is who you and your dog need in your lives! A friend recommended him to us for our two dogs, and I am now recommending him to the world. We previously had a dogwalker who would take them around a couple nearby blocks. And while it was great that they got a potty break midday, they were still full of energy and needed a good run when we got home from our long days at the office. Our friend told us about Dro, he came to meet us and Dexter and Miles, he instantly put us at ease and explained a typical walk (which is actually a 3-hr adventure from when they leave to when they get back!), and he worked out a schedule that fit our limited budget. Yes, this will cost you more than a neighborhood walker. But it was life-changing for us and the value is unquestionable. We scaled back to a few days a week, which was fine for our 9-yr old pups, and it was so fulfilling to see them tuckered out for the next day or two after the adventures. He would let us add on extra days if we wanted, and he is so organized we never had to remind him about it. We have since moved away from the Bay Area, and we miss Dro! Not only did he treat our dogs so well and give them the exercise they badly needed, he would do awesome extra things... Like leave a little Halloween pail filled with some dog treats and human candies, and also a "scary" photoshopped photo of the pack. Or leave us a 2018 calendar at the end of last year. Highly recommend Dro as a dog walker, especially for your Vizsla! I met Dro while waking my Vizsla pup at fort funston. He was one of the rare dog walkers who stopped and chatted with me, and let my puppy play with his pack. He already had two vizslas in his pack so he was very familiar with the breed (TLDR: vizslas are VERY high energy and VERY attached to their humans). I continued to run into Dro at the beach, and when it came time to find a dog walker, I was confident in selecting Dro; after all, his pack was following the same routine to which my pup was now accustomed. Two other things worth mentioning: If you are, like me, the owner of the most particular dog in the history of dogs, you can be assured that Dro is extremely chill and knows his dogs. Whenever I take my pup to the beach and my pup sees the distant figure of Dro and his pack on the trail, he immediately starts wagging his tail and waits for me to release him so he can charge ahead and go play with his pack. It's very comforting to know that my dog (remember, the most particular dog ever) actually gets excited to see Dro and forgets (momentarily) about me. AlphaPet SF is simply the best. The owner Dro and his partner Fox have been taking our dog Basket on daily adventures for almost three years now. They take her for over three hours to Fort Funston, where she lives her best life, hiking, playing with friends, swimming. Dro is the best dogwalker I've ever had. He has been walking my German Shepherd, Goku, for almost a year now. He's fantastic with dogs and took time to smoothly introduce Goku into the pack. Dro is really great at what he does and also extremely reliable. He's never canceled a single walk, and even shows up in full rain gear during crappy weather. Goku gets so excited to see him and all the pups go to the beach and hike everyday. The daily personalized report cards and social media posts honestly make me jealous of my dog!
