They offer a fly fishing 101 class for anyone who wants to get into fly fishing. It was a great two hour class that included the equipment you need and even how to cast a flyrod. Not to mention knot tying as well. Go see Jeff and Hunter as they will guide you through what you need without breaking the bank. I stopped in originally to do get some warranty work done on a Benchmade knife. I had called around the area and they were the most helpful over the phone so came by in person. Very friendly in person and put customer service first. Store was awesome, very clean, neat and organized. Let alone this is the best Fly Fishing outfit you are going to find in North Atlanta. Tons of variety and everything you would need to plan a trip. Rods, reels, flys, lines, knifes, waders, and more. Great fly fishing knowledge right in our backyard. They have the most personable staff. Lots of variety from fresh water to salt water rods, reals and flys. Very helpful to a first timer. They will not try to sell you anything you do not need and will gladly show you how to tie necessary knots and help you pick out what's best for what you want to do. I was going on a small fishing trip with a friend and had nothing but a rod and and a reel with some line on it. They helped me pick out a pack of leaders, a spool of tippet, and a box of 8 flies for 60$ it was a great price for the quality (knowing now being much more experienced) and being a first timer and not knowing anything it was very welcoming how they understood that I was clueless and did not take advantage of me. When I asked if I NEEDED a pair of clippers he told me that nail clippers work just as well (he could have sold me $15 clippers by simply saying yes) ordering off of amazon may save you a few bucks but for the BEST gear and assistants go to Alpharetta Outfitters. read more

Favorite flyfishing shop to go to. Always a warm greeting and welcome by the staff. Staff are all flyfishing fanatics Ana's guides so very knowledgeable on gear, places to fish (either local or around the country and abroad) and what flies to use for the location or season. Clothing for men and women - flyfishing gear or sport wear, fly tying clinics, and fishing clinics regularly throughout the month. Every time I go in there are constantly regular customers that have just stopped in to chat with the staff and look around, have happy fish conversation and stories then leave with a smile only to return again soon. Cool store and friendly service but pretty sparse selection of Fly Fishing equipment. Also staff has very little knowledge of current fishing conditions and which flys are getting hits. Great location for me but I rarely visit due to their lack of information and equipment. read more
