I am a regular patron of the Alpharetta GA Branch library. It is greatly disturbing, and disappointing about the ongoing issues with the poor sanitation, public computers and printers. Over the past several visits, I have noticed that the multiple computers are either out of service or functioning intermittently, and the printers frequently experience errors or downtown, and the computer monitor, mouse and keyboards are covered with food, hair, dirt, crumbs, and other unclean things, which makes it difficult for patrons to complete essential tasks such as sanitation, printing important documents, conducting research or applying for jobs. Please keep the public library clean, and the maintained. This is very concerning. read more

This is a nice library located in downtown Alpharetta. It's a bit on the smaller side but it's still pretty cozy and I could see myself hanging it out here to study or something. They have a small shop in the front where they sell used books and other media for very affordable prices. They have a few seats in the front of the library to chill as well. read more

It's a great library located in a prime spot in Alpharetta. Be it the weekend or a weekday, the library is always buzzing with people of all ages. I usually reserve my books online on their user-friendly website before heading to the self-checkout kiosk to pick them up. I highly recommend this to others as well as it saves you a lot of time browsing in person only to realize later the book is available at a different library and would take several days to arrive to this location. So far, I have found all the books I've wanted to read with no issues at all. The staff are super friendly, although they're swamped all the time. Parking can get tight on busy days or days when they have book reading events for the kids, so I'd recommend parking in the free public parking lot right opposite the entrance. Since it's in the downtown area, there can be traffic at times while entering and exiting the library. read more

I'm a math tutor and met a student here several times, to study. They have a few very small rooms for people to meet quietly. It gets the job done, but I do wish the rooms were a bit bigger. Also there is often a bit of competition for the rooms, since demand for the rooms will spike soon after high school lets out. Still it's the best nearest option for studying in the area. read more

I really can't say enough about this library. Growing up in a very small town, with an even smaller library (not to even mention a library SYSTEM), discovering the Alpharetta branch of the Fulton County Library system has been the best part of "city" living! I used to have to pay outrageous prices at bookstores to read anything new. Now, I regularly visit the library for new books at no cost to me. The best part to me is the access to books all throughout the Fulton County Library system and the ability to view them all through an online portal. Once I get toward the end of my current book, I just go online and reserve the next few I want. If they aren't located in the Alpharetta branch, they transfer them in and are ready within a few days. This branch is well-organized and it's always easy for me to find the books I've reserved or locate some new ones from within the stacks. They have self-checkout stations that make checking out quick and convenient. This library is the best part of Alpharetta in my opinion! read more

Amazing building and selection of resources and events! We go out of our way to visit this location to peruse our favorites in the presence of excellence! Huge selection of print books, CDs and dvds. For the past 5 years I've been a regular visitor to the Buckhead library, but with recent renovations I had to change my go-to spot. Alpharetta branch is on my way home from work so I checked it out and I'm IN LOVE. It's so beautiful and bright and sunny. They have art on display and sculptures hanging from the ceiling. The librarians are a complete joy to speak with and have gone out of their way in helping me find my books on hold. There is a little charity bookstore on the second story that benefits the library. Some books are less than $1. I visit this library once every month or two. There is always parking available (free) and there are plenty of tables so I can sit and read or work if I have the spare time. read more

So I've been to a couple libraries this past week. This by far has the least study space. The sound travels and there's a ton of people. They are doing construction about a block over so you can hear that too. Plus side, free parking. And a walk away from the restaurants in downtown Alpharetta. read more

What a major upgrade from what the Alpharetta library used to be! While I didn't have the opportunity to peruse the inside of the building, the outside grounds were BEAUTIFUL! We were there taking pictures, along with lots of other folks for the Easter Holiday. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. We actually came here because the scenery outside was great for taking some pictures, though you could read a book outside on one of the benches, or just take a walk. Very peaceful area. read more

A NEW LIBRARY WITH A GREAT LOCATION! The new library is okay but it left me with the thought that it is "unfinished". I expected it to be beautiful! I imagined that it would have large cushioned arm chairs, nice carpet, beautiful art on the walls and more. I was a bit disappointed but understand that the main purpose of the library is to offer books and to connect with the local community. It is a nice functional structure with two levels. As you enter the main level, you will find the reception desk on your right. Going past this desk you will see several computers in a large open area, (porn patrol). There are four study rooms and two meeting rooms beyond the computer area. On the main level you will find books for teen and adults. On this main level, you will also find the teen room (with its own unique seating and computers) and the periodical section. The periodicals are housed in a small enclosed space with a long table. It is a little tight and claustrophobic. Picture it, you are seated in an enclosed glass structure facing outward, like a prized zoo animal. I chose to sit outside of this section in the cushioned chairs for my leisure reading. The lower level houses the children's section and the vending machines. I love the "cafe" sign that directs you to the vending machines. There were a couple of "cool notes", the rabbit sculpture that is displayed over the stairs and the stairs. I just love the stairs because they are wide and comfortable and have a designated seating area to the right of the banister which is perfect for little kids who like to perch. Unfortunately this library did not feel warm or inviting and I have never felt that in any library I have visited. This library gets three stars because it serves its purpose and I love that it is now at the center of town. read more

What a beautiful new building inside and out; yet the free wifi does not reach the back end of the library ~ sit near the doorway and you'll get on. Beautiful row of computers, but be careful with the mouse! You won't be able to reach individual tabs on varying screens unless you minimize the screen since the cord length is SHORT! Sad really, its not functional or comfortable. read more

The FOTAL (Friends of the Alpharetta Lubrary) group is absolutely the best Friends group! They somehow manage to have a huge book sale on the first Saturday of each month. They support library programs, scholarships, GED programs and donate books to schools, libraries, hospitals and various charities. So FOTAL would get ten stars! The library building feels sanitized. It is too plain. The money seems to have been put into the building and not the interior. The staff changes too often but the old timers are nice enough. The porch and chairs are a plus. The Greek garden outside is lovely. Unfortunately, there are huge buildings being built that will overshadow both the library and the new city hall building. It currently has plenty of parking but with the new buildings it may not have enough. The collection is average. read more

Today was my first visit to this library. It was much smaller than I expected it to be. There seemed to be adequate computers and staff on both levels yet there was hardly any study space. I had to share a table with someone else which is fine but would have much rather had a quiet place to think (I normally study at home but went there for extra concentration - I stayed 1 hour). Nice building and staff seemed to be as well but I didn't communicate with anyone. Will try other spaces in the future. read more

From what I'm used to in Shelby County,TN, the libraries are so beautiful. Always a pleasure to visit them.

Great, modern library with friendly, helpful staff. Offers free presentations and other events in their auditorium, too.

I love this library. I went for the first time yesterday and it's nice and spacious with lots of big tables.

I would not recommend going here is you are looking for quite place to study or read. No attempt is made to quite loud screaming children or people using their cell phones in a loud voice. After wait for a long period of time hoping that someone would say something I had to complain. read more
