The city of Roswell has some of the best libraries in all of Fulton County. This library is no exception. It's small but don't let the size full you. They're jammed packed with good stuff. The space itself was built to blend in with the surrounding area. They used a lot of natural materials so that the building would harmonize with the city park that is directly behind here. There are lots of windows for natural light and lots of comfortable sofa/chairs inviting you to curl up with a good book. I saw lots of current travel books for those looking to broaden their scope this year. There were at least half a dozen books on learning Japanese. A book on the techniques of acting coach legend Stella Adler can be seen on the shelf among plays by Oscar Wilde and Victor Hugo. There are 3 group study rooms, 3 more rooms for up to 2 people, a large conference-like room that can seat up to 10 people. Of course if you can't find an item here you can just go on to http://www.afpls.org/ 1. Go to "books and materials" at the top of the green menu. Click on "catalog search" 2. Type in the item you are looking for. 3. from the search results...just click on the item you want. 4. then click the green "hold" button on the right. 5. enter your library card number and your PIN. (The default PIN is CHANGEME) 6. Click on the library branch where you want to pick up your book. 7. As a resident and writer, this public taxpayer institution never stops to coldly amaze me. The reception is cold as a polar bear's delight on ice. Many smiles are smothered like onions on liver. Sorry, a cold brew would melt in this icy domain. A Stephen King's moment would squeal with delight. No one is friendly, if helpful, it's short-lived like skaters waiting for cold chocolate beverage served with no warmth. If your a reader enthusiastic, better drive south. I rather read an Ernest Hemingway's book in Marathon or Key Largo than place my loins in the seats with frigid temperatures. Grab your ear mugs, thermals and mittens. Where is the good stuff? Oh, please. Here is antiquated and stiff. We need a community lift not dreariness with diversity and inclusion for patrons from all assortments of colors. read more

As a bibilophile, I love libraries. I love being surrounded by so much information and knowing all I have to do is reach out my hand to learn a new skill or travel to another country...so I'm kinda biased to give any library a good rating. However, I was at the East Roswell Library for a group meeting, so can only give my observations. Saturday afternoon - library was busy. Good sign. Plenty of parking available. Staff were friendly and helpful. Building is light and spacious and sections are well marked. Meeting facility - a conference room that comfortably held 30 people and we were permitted to bring in coffee and cookies. I would've loved to spend a few hours browsing but after the meeting I had to dash to a dinner date, but I'm pretty darn sure I'll be back to this facility. read more

I AM SO JEALOUS!!! This is the library to build so that they will come!! If I had this library in my neighborhood, cops couldn't get me out. No lie, it is that incredible. This library was sorely needed in this area, (east of 400) because they did not have one. This library makes up for all those times that this area did not have their own library and had to travel to the other "oh so inadequate" branches. This library was built with beauty in mind and does a wonderful job of incorporating the outdoors by the installation of a wall of windows that run along the sides of the building. These windows provide not only soft serene views but lots of natural lighting perfect for reading and studying. I love the designated areas that shoot off from the main area of the library, the children's area, the teens' room and the individual study rooms. I like that the children's area is not just an area set off to the side, it is a separate structure away from the teens and adults with a bay of computers, a nice reading area and of course books, books and more books. The teen area is on the other side of the building and is fully equipped as well. The library is a great place to obtain information about community related events such as the summer reading programs, reading time for tots, etc. Unlike some of the other libraries, this one is open every day of the week which is great for the community. read more

This library is a nice library and conveniently located. Just recently started stopping here before going to the gym. The 2 stars are for the lady at the front desk. She has this look down her nose at you kind of attitude. Maybe it's the gym rat attire. This review was written by my 8-year-old son. I think this is a great library, especially for children. The thing that is hard in the kids section, is that the shelves are not labeled so it's hard to find the book you're looking for. My sisters also really like the library. DVDs are always popular for the littles. I am also in the chess club held on Mondays in the meeting room, which is always fun. My mom used to run a chess club in Austin Tx. I usually check out the books on sports, which are inconveniently located in the back of the kids place, which confused me the first time I came. I also like the design, because it feels newer and brighter. Overall, I think this is a great library! read more

Alright library, I see you. This place has a lot of natural light brought in through the windows - I sense my productivity rising. They have a drive thru to drop off your books, plenty of computers 20+, rooms to reserve for solitude, and friendly staff. Plenty of parking and I highly recommend stopping here to study, work, or get some great books! read more

We just moved to the area and I brought my children here so we could get library cards and check out some books. Maybe I was just spoiled by my wonderful library in Kentucky, but this branch was very underwhelming. The children's area wasn't very child friendly. An older woman snapped at my 4 year old to not put books in a cubby because it said "please don't put books here." Well, she's 4...most kids aren't going to be able to read that. Put a lid over it'd youvdkntaant it used in a kids area. I also had my 10 month old with me. The staff looked annoyed that he was crawling around. Everyone just seemed annoyed and not inviting. It made me wonder if they even want to encourage children to come to the library at all. Purple library had rugs, puzzles, a train set, a toy kitchen, and many other activities to encourage families and children to visit. It was a wonderful place to be. This library could learn some things from them. I would have given a lower rating, but the gentleman at the front was VERY friendly and helpful. Maybe he should be in the children's area. read more

This is my favorite out-of-town library. Love the building architecture. And that it's built next to a scenic nature trails. Not a very large library, but it has plenty of seating and several small study rooms. Staff is pretty helpful too. read more

This place is okay. They need to work on their drop off. It's hard to pull up to because of some stumps in the ground. They also are bad about telling you that your hold items are ready for pick up when they aren't even on the shelf yet! But aside from that they are good in here. First the library is beautiful! I love the look, wood items & nature feel indoors! Now what took away from a truly beautiful experience was my entrance into the library. There were 2 people (male & female) sitting at the front desk & neither made eye contact or greeted me upon entry. I was taken back a bit because it was just me and an older gentleman, so I decided to walk directly by the desk thinking maybe they just didn't see us. Still neither of them even lifted their heads to acknowledge me. I would've even taken a friendly smile (since it's the library). The librarian upfront (female) not friendly at all. I forgot my pen in the car so I walked up to the desk. She finally made eye contact but did not smile or ask me how she could assist. So after a few seconds of awkward silence I asked her to borrow a pen. She gave it to me & walked off. I took care of what I needed to & left. I'm going to Gwinnett where the people are friendly. read more
