Our dog Rocky, had a sudden & severe issue with his tail. We are new to the area, and did not have a vet for him yet. We needed a place that could see us quickly, and was reasonable with pricing, especially since this was an unexpected emergency. We were given the recommendation of Animal Care Center in Danville. There were kind enough to squeeze Rocky in very early on a Monday morning, and worked with us so well. It turned out that he had to have his tail amputated and needed to be neutered as well. Dr. Wild was so wonderful! She was very patient, and reassuring about the procedure; as this was a big deal to me. She took time and answered my questions, and I felt confident with him in their care! Additionally, because this was an unplanned expense, they helped us work to keep it affordable, and let us know what options we could change to keep it in a range that we could take care of! They were very helpful and great to work with. The surgeries went very well, and Rocky is doing well. This is a great place to take your pet. We have been taken my puppy here since she was 4 months old. Our first monthly visit was horrible. Dr Ryan man-handled her and pulled her up to the table causing her to scream and yelp. Then we Ordered her 6 months flee and tick medicine that they claimed was never paid for. After that everything was fine until yesterday. My mother called to schedule her a nail cutting. During this call the lady proceeded to ask if it was for our other dog who passed 15 years ago... After my dog's nail cutting appointment today, they charged us $29 and claimed it was a level 2 nail cutting. Whatever that means. My family has had 4 dogs and two of them went to different vets, neither of those places charged us that much. And while on the topic of other dogs when my last dog passed back in May of last year they could not find his ashes and it took weeks for us to get them. Totally ruined the grieving process for everyone. I don't recommend this place to anyone with pets. I will not have my pets mistreated and I will not be squeezed out of every penny. read more

I am grateful that my dog was able to get in same day as I called. They took her on emergency status. My long-term vet had no openings. Bloodwork and a fecal sample study were done on the spot. on the other hand, the technicians did the hands-on exam, they did not offer my 13 year old dog, an exam table that could raise and lower for her, I had to strongly suggest it. If it was "casual, treating bitch has a home that my dog had to get over. She sent me home with some meds $450 later no x-ray was offered. when I took my dog to her, regular vet a couple days later, a hands-on physical exam by the vet revealed a very sore spot in her abdomen and x-rays confirmed that. she has a Mass in her stomach. She is now on palliative care. read more

We had a very positive experience at this clinic. Our English Bull Terrier was having progressive GI issues for 4 days. We were worried about an obstruction or kidney issues (this breed is known for both). Dr. Kaminsky took X-rays and did bloodwork. All findings were visually & verbally shared with us. She was terrific at explaining the results. Both of us are medical. My son is an ICU physician and I'm a PhD who taught pathophysiology to doctoral students. Despite this she spoke in laymen's terms which was helpful as we are all about humans and dogs are much different. We discussed a plan and made shared decisions. All this made us feel comfortable and heard. Our pooch is better now. Our animals are family. This facility and their staff recognize this. Highly recommend! read more

Unfortunately I think their service is declining. I started taking my pets here about 5 years ago when Bloomsburg Vet killed my cat. They were really good then. Now not so much. It almost seems like they were bought out by the other vet. No call back, terrible entitled attitudes from staff & vets are all different. They dont really care about animals anymore. If you're looking for a compassionate, attentive vet clinic that treats your pet with care and respect--*this is not the place*. From the moment we walked in, we were met with cold indifference rather than the warmth and empathy one would expect from professionals who claim to care about animals. Our dog had several concerning symptoms: red, balding spots, scabs, and dry patches. Not only did the vet tech fail to greet her, she didn't so much as glance in her direction. She didn't help weigh her, didn't acknowledge our dog's clear discomfort, and barely acknowledged us. We provided our dog's medical history, yet the tech gave no indication that she heard or understood a word we said. It was as if we were speaking into a void. When I offered to look up the brand of prescription food our dog was on, she snapped back with, *"Are you transferring care to us?"* I explained we were only in town for a few days and needed temporary care. Her response? *"Don't bother."* I still have no idea what transferring care had to do with identifying a brand of dog food, but the attitude was enough to make it clear we were unwelcome. Then came the vet, Dr. Adam Ryan. I use the term "vet" loosely here because I've seen more medical insight from a Google search. He gave our dog a cursory glance--maybe 30 seconds at most--then literally shrugged and said he didn't know what was wrong. He said he wouldn't bother doing any lab work because "these things just happen" and there was "nothing he could do." He then stood there silently, staring at us as though we were the inconvenience. I had to pull basic information out of him like *I* was the one responsible for diagnosing our dog. It was both infuriating and heartbreaking. They refused to help us. Not even the bare minimum was offered. No treatment plan, no suggestions, no care. Just apathy. Do yourself--and your pet--a favor and avoid this clinic at all costs. If you're looking for a vet who treats your pet's health like a mild inconvenience, Dr. Adam Ryan is your guy! We brought our dog in with a rash and noticeable hair loss--basically the dermatological equivalent of a neon sign flashing "something's wrong!" Dr. Ryan gave it the ol' one-second glance, shrugged like we just asked him to explain quantum physics, and declared: "There's nothing we can do." No treatment plan. No suggestions. Not even a sympathetic pat for the dog--or us. It was like going to a restaurant, pointing at a fire in the kitchen, and the chef goes, "Eh, it happens." If your pet ever needs real medical attention--or you'd like your concerns treated as more than background noise--I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Maybe even WebMD for dogs would be more helpful. One star for the waiting room chairs. They were the most attentive part of the visit. read more

My son brought a stray cat home and we took her here because this was the only place that had availability. When we got there we were informed they had soem emergencies come in. We waited 45 minutes past our appointment time - understandable if they are dealing with an emergency. When we finally did see the vet she acted like we were inconveniencing her. She said the cat was pregnant but when I wanted to ask more questions she responded "quite frankly I don't have the time" . Today I received a phone call about my dog Capone being behind on shots. Capone has been dead for two years now and he died because of Rachel's incompetence. As I said before he was there numerous times and after the last visit my dog collapsed and died, after Rachel said he was fine. They obviously are hard up for business. It upsets me to have to write this review. We've taken our animals to this place for almost 20 years. In that time, they have gotten worse and worse and worse. They've just butchered my cat over a simple shave, to the tune of about 5 staples. The vet who did the job had the audacity to laugh and tell me he didn't even feel it! Would YOU feel it if I gave you a two inch slice and stapled it shut? THAT is the quality of care these people provide at this point. If they cannot handle a bog simple fur shaving DO NOT trust them with actual health issues that require expertise and professionalism. You will find neither here. The insolence of her attitude has me shaking with rage even now. I will be speaking to someone in the Pennsylvania Department of State about this clinic. Clearly some oversight needs to occur. Update: An hour and a half after the incident and my cat can't even really put weight on his back leg. Sure sounds like he didn't even feel it, huh? All over a simple grooming procedure. read more

I began taking our dog here 6 years ago. Since then we have added '4' additional dogs to our brood & recently fostered '2' more. Over the last 7-8 mths the quality of staff here has taken an enormous decline! Phone calls never returned, scheduled care NOT being given in its entirety and yesterday I drove 40 minutes to pick up the prescription I requested be ordered. I opened it today and it's capsules, which my little dog obviously cannot take. I emptied it on her food and began researching why it is NOT chews but capsules instead. Imagine my surprise when I discovered what they ordered me for $50 is for HUMAN Eye care NOT canine tear stains! WTF! I love our vet but this is the straw that broke the camels back! I will be going there tomorrow, requesting ALL records and finding a NEW VETERINARY office. Our dogs are OUR CHILDREN! Substandard care is NOT acceptable! My 3 year old bulldog mix, Oliver, passed away on 6-14-22. I have been taking him to animal care center Danville since I rescued him. I called on 6-14 when I noticed him wheezing, the woman on the phone stated there was no doctor available at animal care center and I was rerouted to Sunbury, 50 minutes away. I live in bloomsburg. Oliver passed away in the car. I am not leaving this review because the center had "no vet available" for him. I am leaving this review because I called twice the next day to speak to Oliver's vet and asked that he call me back and I have yet to receive a call. I was pretty hysterical in the morning so I called BACK to apologize and ask again for Oliver's usual vet to call me just so I could speak with him for some peace of mind to explain his symptoms and maybe have him tell me there was nothing they could have done even if I did make it this facility in time. I don't think a phone call is too much to ask for after this. Shows how truly concerned and caring the staff is. Do not recommend. read more

I have been there several times for annual checkups and for sick appointments with various pets. Each time I felt like they rushed me in and out and didn't listen to my concerns or answer my questions. The vet techs and vets don't seem to have much bed side manner and barely give the pets any attention besides the basic checking over. Seems like they just want as many patients as possible each day to push in and out for the money. Don't recommend. Go somewhere else. read more

Night before my dogs procedure they called to remind me about the procedure but never told me to withhold food. When I asked him about it he said he didn't know what I knew and what I didn't. If I hadn't known to withhold the food, dog could have aspirated. If office staff can't be trusted to give important information then how do you trust the vets? read more

I would recommend ACC to anyone. I have been taking all my dogs to them for over 2 years now. I see Dr.Ryan. He has been the best through all my needs, from surgeries to having to make a choice to put my sweet Kloee girl to sleep. He has and continues to give all the necessary information I need in doing/making the best decisions for my dogs. I an currently dealing with a mast cell tumor on my Rockee. Dr. Ryan has recommended me to a specialist and asked that I keep him updated. I love his true compassion for animals. I look forward to receiving my dogs care through ACC. We received a reminder email stating our appointment was at 1215. We arrived at 1210, the front desk told us our appointment was at noon. They were rude and since we were "late" we had to wait 45 minutes. We showed them the email that was sent to us stating our appointment was at 1215. They did not apologize and continued to be short with us. I understand mix ups happen but to be rude to us and then not acknowledge it was an error on their end is not understandable. I've gone to this vet for years. If this is how their customers will be treated I will be looking for a new vet. read more

I was very happy with animal care center until recently. Since the move service and animal care needs have declined. I have a German Shepherd puppy who lost interest in food and basically barely ate any food. I was told she is more closely related to.the wolf than most breeds. I told the vet that even after not eating for a while she still was barely interested... not wolf-like. After spending between $800-900 on several tests there was still no answer. Then I started researching what could be going on myself. What seemed most likely was giardia. I made another visit to the vet and brought another stool sample. I.asked that she be tested for giardia. In the meantime my large animal vet had come by for horses, she immediately said giardia. So she took a stool sample with her which was positive. Animal care was negative. Meanwhile my puppy is still barely eating and had intermittent diarrhea... also not wolf-like. I have had dogs my whole life and at 67 years I think I my opinion should count for something. I did treat her for giardia snd she got better for a while, but still not gone. I dud call animal care to speak with vet who still has nor called me back. Just filled prescription for warmer that is a powder that she won't eat. Very frustrating. read more

I think they're amazing. I loved Dr Berg before he retired, Dr Campbell always went above and beyond for my parents lab- including picking her up in a snow storm at their house when she finally needed to be put to sleep. And I absolutely love Dr Lapus. She is incredibly kind and compassionate. I read someone's review saying she had no interpersonal skills and it only made me question the skills of the person who wrote it. She has never ever made me feel rushed, has always fit my kitties in for same day appointments when they were in bad shape, and always says to call her if I need anything. I've only seen Dr Ryan once or twice and I believe him to be incredibly intelligent. A little more concise and and perfunctory then the others, but very very competent. The vet techs have always been personable and happy people. They're front desk staff varies. They're mostly wonderful and caring. However I have dealt with one or two over the years that was rude. But you can't have awesome people all the time. And of all the vets I've been to I've never had any that tries to save me money more than ACC. I've always been asked before tests are run and told the price of anything I asked for ahead of time. I've also been advised when testing could be done but isn't a necessity. ACC is a wonderful place and I've never been happier with a vet hospital. I'm more than surprised at the negative posts because everyone I've ever talked to that takes their pets there always raves about them. I've recommended switching to them to many people over the years and everyone of them has thanked me. They're def a 5 star place read more

When your animal is healthy vets are great if they can be nice- but when your pet gets sick you get to see the depth of capability of your vet. Unfortunately my poor dog was unable to walk and presenting with other symptoms. After multiple trips, $800+ of diagnostic testing I had to beg for a tick panel to see if Lymes was the problem. The following days the dog continued to decline. After begging for a call back from the vet that never came, I guess I annoyed them too much by calling and was told to take my dog to an emergency vet in Clarke's Summit that wouldn't open until 7pm at night because they refused to treat my dog further. I found another vet that treated for tick disease (doxy+prednisone) based on what was presenting and my dog made immediate improvement. The kicker is 8 days later I call to find out the tick panel results (because of course they never called me) that they didn't send enough blood to the lab for them to run the test!!! The vet I saw Dr Lapos was not nice and lacking in people skills along with veterinary skills. If I continued under their treatment my dog would be dead. I wouldn't recommend this practice anymore. I had come here back in 1998-2000 with Dr Berg and Dr Campbell- both were great. Now that Berg is gone the new vets don't compare. read more

The staff have absolutely no personality and can not be bothered to talk to you. That is a turnoff for most people BUT when they literally have the guts to try to make more money off keeping your animal instead of offering advice or ideas for how to help that is where I draw the line. to be clear, I drove back after a procedure to ask for help with bleeding and the only thing they were able to offer was to keep him in a cage for a few nights becaide to them nothing was too serious. Meanwhile my cat runnier my carpets and couch with a large amount of blood loss. I will never recommend or spend another penny at this establishment. read more

I have been taking my dogs to ACC for about five years. Just recently, I started having issues with their service. My Collie was having symptoms before her passing, and I tried to get her in on two different occasions with ACC. They declined and never returned a voicemail I left. My collie died shortly after. We recently rescued a puppy and when I called to get him in, since our other dog abruptly passed away, they wouldn't budge on their schedule. I spoke with the manager, whom apologized. My boyfriend took our Great Pyrenees for an irritated anus and itchy ears. The Vet was new, and he asked my boyfriend if he could cut her hair around her anus to see it better. My boyfriend said sure, because it wasn't a big deal. The vet also said that her anal glands weren't enlarged. When I saw the bill, I noticed two additional charges on top of the 53 dollar examination fee. They charged for "cut hair and clean wound" and "anal expression." Which didn't add up... they have never charged extra for basic things that they do during an exam. When I called and questioned the bill, I was told that the examination is only for the diagnosis and any extras, can be charged at the vets discretion. I was also told that day to day the charges change depending on the vets mood... They claimed that they have done this for years, but that can't be the case. I have never seen any billing similar to this during my previous visits. If you want a place that is fair and takes care of your pets I suggest going elsewhere. read more

Great Veterinary clinic. We have been bringing our pets here for the last 20 years. We brought our first Pug, Napoleon here when we lived in Danville, and they were wonderful. Dr. Berg and Dr. Campbell found the Lymphoma he had, and directed us to the University of Penn. Afterwards they worked with Penn to administer and monitor the treatments,until his passing. They were so caring and compassionate during this time, it truly was a God send. Even after we moved to the Williamsport area and got another Pug puppy, we decided to stay with the Animal Care Center for the Veterinary needs of our furbaby. Very recently after our 12 year old Pugs annual check up, he had an emergency with bladder stones and needed bladder surgery. Therefore , we had to take him to the Watsontown Emergency clinic where he was all weekend, he was then transported to Animal Care Center today for a check up by Dr. Campbell. We have the utmost respect and confidence in the Veterinarians at this clinic. Not only are they overly competent and well versed in veterinary medicine, but they are truly compassionate with all their patients. I took Jabroni in today because he was in pain and having trouble urinating... they were so nice and thorough... they checked him for a uti and possible kidney stones through a urinalysis... just to be safe they then did a prostate exam and did ultrasounds just to make sure he did not have kidney stones or swelling... Dr Andi Koehler was just awesome... she answered all my questions and took the time to discuss diets, ticks & fleas medications, dental health, and even made sure little Jabroni was up to date on his vaccinations... after paying for medication for the uti all of it cost less than 75 dollars... best vet clinic ever!
