We even ran into one obstacle which Steve helped resolve : we had reached the final phases of escrow and the lender we were working with all of a sudden decided not to fund the loan because of a peculiar room addition. Steve quickly took action and produced an eloquent letter justifying why funding our loan was very low risk and sent it immediately to the lender; but at the same time, he was already contacting other lenders (just in case the current lender wouldn't budge with their decision). We contacted Alpine Funding/Old Arbor Mortgage in January of 2020. Explained to Steve we would not be in a position to buy until May 2020, and he worked with us with no hesitation. He also suggested to check out other companies, and if this was our first company we should explore our options just in case. He seemed more interested in what we wanted vs making a sale, which was great. (we did check out other lenders and even broker dealers but decided to go with Steve because of the honesty and the former clients we spoke to. We spoke with them at least once a month because we had questions doing this the first time about our financial situation (IE Debt, income, expected expenses) and what documents we would need. Steve was incredibly patient and spent more time explaining thing to first time home buyers than was probably warranted (thank goodness), We knew quiet a bit however it was nice to have someone fill in the holes.
