Great little coffee/lunch spot on the Main Street in Rossland. They have a variety of coffees, teas and hot chocolate plus soup, bagels, calzones, sausage rolls and sweet treats. Limited seating. The calzones were excellent, my BLT bagel was delicious. Enjoyed my hot chocolate but it could have been hotter. Apparently, the local secret is to ask for your beverage "extra hot". A very enjoyable place to watch the folks walk by while enjoying a cup. read more

After a long morning of ski boot shopping my son and I stopped here for lunch at the recommendation of the ski shop owner. So glad we did! The vibe is laid back and the food prepared to order. Enjoyed a cup of hot coffee while putting up my (cold) feet and waiting on my soup and sandwich. Tried the Borscht soup, served hot instead of the traditional cold. My son had the zucchini soup. Both were unique and yummy!! The sandwiches we ordered were hot paninis. The portion generous, served hot and fresh! Both sandwiches were delicious and nutritious. Lunch here hit the spot. This shop is great! My friends and I stopped by for some brunch and coffee before we drove back to the States, and I was really impressed by the quaint little shop. They have such great dishes, yummy baked goods, and well-crafted drinks. My pick of the day was homemade granola with a side of yogurt and a matcha latte. The matcha wasn't overly sweet, and it was a nice drink to start my day off. The homemade granola was also yummy. I love that they have bits of dried fruits in the granola. The thing that threw me off at first was that the yogurt was quite sour, but if you eat it with a granola it's a perfect blend of sweet and sour. If you're ever in town, definitely stop by here for a good cup of warm drink or some brunch! read more

This little coffee shop is a gem! Everything is home made, their breakfast sandwich bagels are delicious and cooked on a panini press so they are warm and crispy. The coffee is perfectly made and tastes great. If your gonna stay and enjoy your drink, its serves in mice big mugs or glasses. You can't go wrong with any of their homemade pastries, they are all delicious. read more

We go there every day since we are in Rossland. We take a latte with almond milk which is very smooth, and something to eat, as a panini or salad or bagel. The salads are big, panini are tasty, choice of gluten free stuff:bagel, loaf, energy ball. Nice atmospher, table outside. Quite noisy and busy but we liked the coach to chill out! read more

Visited my hometown this weekend for my best friend's wedding and it was so nice to come back to the Grind for some much-needed coffee after driving for 8 hours. The new (I guess it's not so new after a year) location is perfect for groups, couples, catching up with friends, and has delicious coffee and food to boot. Food is great, lots of gluten free options if your a Stone Age human like myself and can't handle the dreaded wheat. Coffee is on point, and I highly recommend the smoothies. Great place if you want a quick meal or if you want a place to chill with your friends for a few hours. 10/10! read more

The absolute slowest service I have ever had at a cafe. We ordered one bagel and it took over 25 minutes.

I was here on business and needed a pleasant cafe to work at for a bit, have a good lunch, and have some decent coffee. This place was wonderful, and comfortable enough that I was willing to actually spend some time here. I would definitely return. It is more than just a simple cafe in that it actually has a lunch menu (also breakfast/brunch) and the food was quite good! Considering Rossland is so small, I was very happy to find a cafe of this quality. It had a more upscale feel than elsewhere without being really pricey or pretentious. read more

Great spot! Coffee was to die for! Best raspberry dark scone my wife has ever had! bagels themselves were great. The hot chocolate was great! Both my wife and I had to use the facilities very quickly after eating the common food of bagel and cream cheese, but this discomfort was only temporary! Still a great place! read more

I no longer live in Rossland, but visit for extended periods a couple of times a year. I've always enjoyed the food the at the Grind. The sandwiches are tasty as well as the baked goods. The soup tends to be hit and miss. While it is always edible, it can range from rather bland to quite flavourful. After visiting the Grind three or four times over the Holidays this past winter, my issue has more to do with the counter staff. I can't say I was treated rudely, but I would say there was a kind of "too cool for school" attitude, for lack of a better phrase, amongst some of the employees. They just seemed indifferent/uninterested in their interactions with customers. With the exception of meals which are brought to the table, you place your order and pay as well as pick up your drinks and lighter fair at the counter. For an establishment which for the most part doesn't provide table service, if you expect me to drop a couple of loonies in the tip jar at the register, it would be nice to be met with a more enthusiastic greeting and friendlier counter service. Moreover, two of the times I visited over the Holidays, during the down time after the morning or lunch rush, the staff were standing idly around behind the counter playing on their iPhones in full view of the owner working in the kitchen. This time could have been better spent wiping the empty tables, straightening the chairs, and cleaning up the accumulated spills at the sugar and cream area which on each one of my visits always looked to be in need of a good cleaning. read more
