The last 3 times I ordered my CPAP supplies, they relentlessly bill me BEFORE they submit to my insurance. Last summer they sent the wrong water tank for my CPAP. It arrived the day I left on vacation out of state. I left my old water tank at home. When I arrived at my destination, I discovered the water tank didn't fit my machine, and my machine wouldn't work. The supervisor I talked to in order to fix the situation was extremely rude and unhelpful. They wanted me to pay for the right water tank out of pocket and pay for the overnight shipping. They did finally mail it to me 2-day shipping for no charge, but not until I insisted. The supervisor was so rude she made me cry. Today I waited on hold for 30 minutes during my work day to talk to someone about my bill. There were 10 people on hold before me. Finally there was one person before me. Then the automated system said "there is no one to take your call. Please call back later". I reached out electronically and discovered that when they sent out the bill they had not even tried to submit it to my insurance. The kind girl on the line said they get at least 20 complaints per day about this. Things seemed to go downhill for them a few years ago. Their billing is terrible. read more

Was referred here for some medical equipment by my doctor. They claimed that they took my insurance, but then they called me for a "deposit" on the machine, then said they couldn't tell me how much I would actually be billed and that they didn't even know if they took my insurance. They refused to provide any sort of price point, even after my asking multiple times. But then they tried to get my CC info? So basically they were just going to charge my card a deposit, then at a later date I would be charged an UNKNOWN amount? Seems super scammy. read more

I have gone back-and-forth contemplating on leaving this review or not however, I decided after thinking what our family went through I'd never want someone else to have to go through what we did. My son was born early at 37 weeks. At two weeks old, he got a little congested. We weren't really that concerned at first fast-forward a few days New Year's Eve and he was diagnosed with Covid. Later that night due to his oxygen and face turning gray/purple we took him to the ER near our house and were later taken by ambulance and admitted to Ogden regional pediatrics unit at 19 days old due to his oxygen dropping. We spent two days in the hospital and were told we would be able to be released but our son would have to go home on oxygen as his little body just wasn't able to keep up his oxygen saturation on his own. The day we were set to be released on Jan 2nd, the doctor advised us that as soon as the oxygen company delivered us a tank to be able to get our son home we could be released to go home and get back to our 5 year old daughter as well. A social worker from the hospital contacted us to let us know that she had set up the oxygen through Alpine as she had spoken with our insurance and they would cover it through Alpine and that she had set it up through them. I first received a phone call on Thursday Jan 2nd from a male at Alpine who initially seemed bothered that he had to help me but I let it go and just figured he was probably having a bad day or I was just being more sensitive and emotional as my newborn was going through so much, and I was only a few weeks post partum. While on the phone with him, he told me that he couldn't verify our insurance so we would have to pay out of pocket, I asked him to double check the information as our insurance was who referred us to them so there shouldn't be an issue and he said he would have to call me back after trying to contact the insurance. While I waited for him to call back, I reached out to the social worker again and let her know what I was told by alpine just to ensure she had verified our insurance and she confirmed and said she would reach out to alpine again. The gentleman with Alpine then called me back still sounding irritated and rude and advised me that because the insurance wasn't showing valid on my newborn we would have to pay up front but failed to help me to understand, I then asked if there was someone else who could help me because of the way he was talking to me, he then changed his tone and said "there must be a misunderstanding" I asked again if I could speak with someone else. I was then placed on hold for a minute and another male came to the phone and this time was very helpful in explaining that because the insurance on our son was "pending" (more than likely because he was just born a few weeks earlier) that we would have to pay half up front for the home oxygen concentrator machine and we could get it back once the insurance took care of it, he was very nice and apologized and explained what I was trying to understand from the last person who didn't seem to care about treating people with kindness. A few hours later alpine arrived to our hospital room with a small portable tank and told us to call the number on the bag of the tank as soon as we got home and they would deliver the home oxygen concentrator. We arrived home about an hour or so later, I called right when we walked in the door as we aren't familiar with how oxygen works and wanted to get our son set up right away! I was told that they didn't have the right equipment and they would have to deliver it to us the next morning, I asked the person on the phone if the small tank we were sent home with would last as our newborn son was continuous oxygen. They assured me that with the amount our son was on that the small tank would most definitely last overnight and should actually last over 30 hours. They promised me this was the case, we went to bed that night and after waking up I noticed our son seemed a little off, but seemed to be doing okay. I looked at the tank and it showed completely empty, in a panic I called to see if the delivery driver was close so we could get another tank or if we needed to take our son back to the hospital, the woman I spoke to continued to put me on hold and told me "that would only happen if you left the tank on", I told her well of course I left the tank on, my son has to be on it all of the time!!! She said the driver was 20 minutes out and looking at my son I knew we had to go straight back to the emergency room. We rushed him back to ogden regional where they hooked him up in triage and his 02 showed to be in the 70's, the triage nurse grabbed my son so fast and rushed him back into a room where our small 8 pound baby was surrounded by 7 or more doctors and nurses. The Ogden staff is friendly, but Salt Lake City resupply refused to exchange for a different size nasal pillows for a Cpap. No where was it written or was I told that they had to be exchanged within 30 days. I have had family health issues and didn't realize I only had 30 days. Very poor customer service. Hard to actually get a rep on the phone. About half the time I call I am asked to leave a message. So far no one has ever returned my call. My strategy is to keep calling back at different times a day until I'm lucky enough to speak with someone. Usually, unless the question is absolutely straight forward, the reps do not really have an answer and must transfer to you to another department or person. Then you go through the whole message process again. Very frustrating. read more

Do not use this company. I have had continual problems for over a year. I still have not received a statement but they have no problem charging my credit card for more than the insurance allows. Poor customer service and that is only if you get them on the phone. The wait time and callback times are terrible. When there were issues with account info, they accused us of not having insurance. To make matters worse, when they found out we did have insurance, they again accused us of making a mistake saying my birthday instead of admitting that there may have been a typo on their end. To top it all off, the representative also shifted blame to the hospital as well. When the hospital was trying to reach this company as well. Blame was shifted everywhere else when mistakes were made, but there was a single point of failure. Absolutely terrible experience with Alpine Home Medical in Ogden. My elderly father in law purchased his super expensive wheel chair from them and we were told it would have a "lifetime guarantee" through them. Well... let me just say that I have been contacting them for a month because it stopped working completely and he relies on it 100% of the time for mobility. When he is not sleeping, he is in his chair. It wouldn't even turn on and after around 20 phone calls and repeated left messages that were supposedly tagging the manager I have not even received a call back to help him get this fixed. i finally paid someone privately to fix his wheelchair and we paid out of pocket to get his chair fixed. After an entire month I wasn't able to even get an appt to get his chair fixed?!?!?! Do NOT trust them with important items your loved ones desperately need! We will NEVER buy anything from them again. It should never take 20 phone calls from a business in an emergency! No call back, no care, no concern! Will be reporting this to Medicare and BBB. read more

Absolutely terrible company. They gave us broken equipment. Pulse ox did not hold a charge for my premie to get all the way home. When they showed up at the hospital the pulse ox wasn't charged so we had to wait longer to even go home and it didn't last. The plug was cracked. The oxygen tanks were at half. When I tried to call the company and tell them I sat on hold so long and was hung up on every time. We had to go into their office to schedule pick up. The billing department had no idea what the charges were to be and charged us the wrong amount right upfront and wouldn't drop equipment until we paid, we still received a bill, on top of faulty equipment. If you have options, go with anyone else, chances are you will have way better service and products. read more

I have had nothing but trouble trying to get someone to help me with my account. Either no one answers the phone or, when they do, I get the condescending "we will look into it and get back to you". As you might guess no one EVER gets back to me! This has been going on for months! I have been overcharged over and over and no one seems to be able to figure it out. Now they have refused to send my supplies until my account is current. Will be contacting Medicare to request they not work with this office in the future and to help me find a more reputable company to give my business to. I sat for over a hour and a half waited for insurance authorization in Alpine Ogden medical office supplies . I had to go back to the doctor office to get a new RX as I am sitting and finally had enough I asked to help get a authorization and call the insurance my self . at that point the guy said, O I just looked in the back and we don't have the wheelchair and don't know when we will get one . I asked for a office manager to a nice lady. she walked right up to him explained I was asking for . he just ‍ Like o well . I told him this is horrible customer service and I will be telling the surgeon office. I will never recommend anyone to sit for all morning only to be told we don't have it because he didn't bother to look first place. I was furious!!!!!! No apologies for my valuable time. Another lady was in furious for them billing the wrong insurance and billed her fully!!! Their billing is very shady. I got a bill in the mail yesterday for CPAP supplies delivered 12.5 months ago. I quit using their services over a year ago, I found the supplies were 1/10th the price on Amazon and their billing always seems sketchy. I was supposedly all paid up 7 months ago, so not sure why I got a new bill from them. I would avoid Alpine Home Medical. read more

we rented a oxygen concentrator for a cpap machine from the so Ogden store last year starting out they told us it would be 15 dollars a month witch ended up being 36 dollars a month (the gal told me it was because of insurance ) so over the next year we had nothing but problems with the bills they would not come on a monthly basis some months the rent would be double or triple because insurance had not paid in a timely manner we never knew what they were going to charge our credit card for every month and they were almost impossible to get ahold of would leave a message and would never get a call back , alot of times the bills did not match what we were being charged after i did finally reach someone after going into the store and getting a personal number she sent me a readout total statement from the beginning which was totally different from what my bills were the last straw was the january bill was for 136 never got a feb bill and at the end of feb the charged the card 179 we took it back and canceled the rental agreement with them after that read more

Recalcitrant and rude customer "service" and a "take it or leave it" attitude I had forgotten from when we conducted business with these people for my father years ago. This time, their nasty, condescending attitude --even before delivering any goods or services -- was sufficient to jog my memory and help me avoid doing business here a second time. I have to say that there are really nice and qualified people at Alpine Home Medical. That said... they are like most medical suppliers. After 2 years with a CPAP device I found that they are charging up to 8 times the price that it could have been purchased online for. They charged me $350.00 for supplies that could have been purchased on line for $57. Between the insurance and my copays I could have purchased 3-4 of these machines online. read more
