Terrific Service Made our Ride Possible!…read more We recently bought my wife a motorcycle and were about to leave on a four-day trip through the mountains. I realized late Friday morning that her bike had 318 miles on it and it would need a 600 mile service soon -- and it really needed to be done by a Honda dealer! We would be riding through Steamboat Springs, so I called the Steamboat Powersports Service Dept there and spoke with Joel Fraser. For context, I'd called a few other shops (I won't name names) and none of them could fit us in for a week. Saturday is a busy day in the service departments of many shops, so I held out little hope that the Steamboat dealer could accommodate us. Joel immediately said, "We're booked up tomorrow, but I think we can work you into the schedule." He then looked up the parts we'd need for the service (oil, oil filter, transmission filter, etc.), confirmed he had them in stock and set us up for 9AM the next day -- which is when the shop opened. We arrived at the shop at 9AM on Saturday and we had the bike back before noon. Not only did Steamboat Powersports do the entire 600 mile service work, but they also washed the bike! That was particularly nice since we'd ridden in the rain on Friday afternoon. My wife and I also enjoyed strolling around the showroom, talking to the sales people who were friendly and highly knowledgeable about their products but never pushy. When I picked up the bike, Joel told me, "We like to accommodate travelers." That's for sure! I also felt like the pricing was more than fair -- it was a bargain, especially considering the circumstances. I thanked him and told him I'd write this review. Thank you, Joel, and Steamboat Powersports -- my wife and I both appreciate the friendly, expert and very timely service when we needed it. Your flexibility rescued our ride from my lack of preparation! It was a memorable experience and I highly recommend Steamboat Powersports to anyone needing a motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile, EV or service.

From my experience they don't really listen to your problems or just don't care…read more I had them press rear bearings for me and when they did they seated them incorrectly, costing me over $1000 having my wheel hub replaced as well as the 2 lyndall sprocket it chewed up in the process. My fault cause I brought them the bearings apparently. when all that it needed was a rotor spacer $4 part. Not sure how with all the experience in the building that couldn't be deduced... their response was " as long as the rotors not rubbing it's fine" it wasn't anymore cause they pressed the bearings incorrectly.... Still my fault cause I supplied the bearings.... Then they put in a 1250 kit on my sportster in which every gasket leaked atleast twice and I was given some grief at the fact that I wanted a bike that didn't leak from the owner and push back. On top of that I'd been chasing a noise they refused to actually pay attention to and just gave me the run around every time I dropped it off. only to find out doing my own due diligence the bolts they removed to install the kit aren't torqued to spec. I wasn't charged for any of the additional gaskets needed however for the one job my bike saw their shop atleast 5 times that summer, not counting the time I had to re drop it off cause they didn't complete the service I requested. I originally had a better review posted but I'm still leaking oil from my base gasket on the rear cylinder and I'm having to go through my bike and make sure bolts on the drive train are actually tight and I'm constantly wondering what care was taken re building my rocker box's and the other internal parts if I have bolts on the outside loose. Shops beautiful, summers nice. Other than that my experience wasn't great and as it's known for being performance driven I expected to be taken care of much better and I shouldn't have ever even had any push back to having my bike fixed properly.

I appreciate the smaller shops as they really know how to treat their customers. Quality work, good prices and keep you up on progress. They have become my go to shop for all my repairs.
