I communicated the symptoms of my engine issues and he was responsive via email. Since there wasn't an earlier opening, he worked on my car day of appointment. He uses a platform called Tekmetric, which breaks down repairs by cost, description, photos. Brent was also communicative via text after I had questions about the estimate. For parts / labor, it wasn't a cheap repair and his turnaround time was professional. It was great to find someone in Steamboat that could easily service a '04 VW GTI.

I had a simple request; help me get back into my car that I was locked out of. My spare was missing so I had no choice but to call someone since the Steamboat Police Department doesn't unlock cars anymore since it apparently "takes away business". So I called Alpine on Sunday to see if they could help me, the girl on Sunday said that's no problem and asked what my address was. I told her and she said "unfortunately we don't have anyone in the steamboat area today. (Always there when you need us). I find this confusing because they're open for business and according to their map on the website they're located near 5th street which is 0.4miles away from my house. She said someone could help me on Monday in the afternoon, all I had to do was call back. So I did. Monday afternoon, same woman picked up the phone, I asked if someone could help me now, she said yes and said it would be just after 5pm, I said no problem. 6:30pm roles around, an hour and a half later, I'm patiently waiting for "Freddy" to show up, but I get a phone call from a new woman named Lauren, she said "we know you have an appointment and it's getting late but our driver isn't going to make it". I have an appointment and live 0.4miles away... and they can't make it?? (Always there when you need us). So Lauren asked if I would be able to do the next morning and I said had work 6am-2pm, but then she had informed me that I actually didn't have to be there, the driver could still unlock my car and just hide my car keys under the driver side floor mat. I agreed to this, even though it meant I had to take the bus to work and would be 30min late the next morning. It's Tuesday now, I got a phone call from Lauren at 1:55pm to let me know my car is finally unlocked, but the driver didn't bother to look for the key to hide it under the mat like I was promised, he just unlocked it and left. Now my car is unlocked with the keys just sitting in the ignition ready to be stolen... this is Steamboat so I'm not too worried but it's not what Lauren promised me. I got no apologies for all the delays, my keys weren't hidden like promised, and it still paid $75 for bad service. I'm very disappointed and find it hard to believe all these positive reviews are legit. I don't recommend using Alpine Towing for ANYTHING. I still don't even have my emailed receipt! (Always there when you need us).

From the moment the phone was answered I was treated like family. The woman who made the appointment was the kindest person- I felt like I had called my aunt! Then I was an hour late for my appointment. I had written the time down wrong- totally my fault. They accommodated me instantly anyway and had no issue or attitude with me! I was holding out on reviewing Barron's to see if they would redeem themselves. Over a year ago we…read morefound ourselves in a pickle while heading up to Stagecoach State Park. We had our truck towed to Barron's, and they diagnosed our truck with needing an engine rebuild. So, they reassured us they knew a shop that could rebuild the engine, and then Barron's would install it. The price estimate they gave for install was around $5,000 So, we trusted them and paid Dave's Auto over $20,000 to build the engine and anticipated on paying Barron's $5,000 for the install. Barron's received the engine sometime in March. After countless texts, calls, and emails, Barron's finally decided to return our truck in June with a price tag of close to $9,000. At least we would now have a functioning truck. . . NOPE. Once again the text chain continued. As of yesterday, we realized Barron's is no longer interested in helping us. I'm honestly regretting giving them full payment, but we're honest people, that's what we do. I do understand that they are a small company out of Steamboat, so if you need a small company job done they may be helpful. If you have any serious issues, you should pay for a tow to a more experienced and quality shop. Otherwise, you're looking at $30,000 in the hole and a truck that does not run as it should. Oh, and it's now leaking oil. I will now be saving to get the truck serviced by an expert. Hopefully, we will have a working truck by next year.
