I have been looking for a reliable boat mechanic in Grand County. This is the place. I brought my boat here for a gasket leak and Power World and their staff made sure the boat was good to go for the season. They not only fixed the gasket, but did a lake check and found some other issues that needed to be corrected. They always called to confirm every service with a very accurate quote before any additional work. I have been on the lake every week for the past month with the boat running better than ever. Power World was recommend to me by a friend who rides snowmobiles with his family on the Grand Lake Trail System and has picked up a few items from them over the years. I was looking for a place to get the family ATV a check up as it hasn't been running as smoothly this summer. It's an old early '90s Kawasaki that my little cousins ride around the dirt roads in Fraser. The guys at Power World had no problem with helping me even with the age of the ATV. I dropped off the ATV on a Saturday I was in the area and after a carb clean, new plugs, and a couple other items I can't remember I got the call the following week the ATV was ready to go. I wasn't going to be able to pickup for a few weeks so the guys at Power World even worked with me to drop off the ATV at my family's place in Fraser for a small extra fee. I really enjoyed the service at Power World; being a total amateur at the sport they didn't make me feel stupid or have trouble explaining what was needed and why. I would defiantly send anyone to Power World looking for service. They also had a large number of new a used Snowmobiles and ATVs outside so I know where I will be going when it's time to upgrade the old Kawasaki or get something for myself to ride all the trails in the area. read more

I stopped in to power world while in Granby for the "Adventure Woman Rally", What a wonderful experience. Everyone I talked with was incredibly helpful and courteous. They were just rolling out things in the morning and not actually open yet. I was wondering around waiting for them to open and stuck my head in the backdoor that was open. I know some businesses hate when you do this sort of thing but the guys did not hesitate to ask me what they could do for them. I got such a good feel from my visit I hope I can purchase a bike from them in the future. I was able to ride a Husky 701 while at the rally and could be convinced to buy one pretty easily. read more

I brought my Harley in after riding over Trail Ridge and getting a check engine light. Even though they don't typically service HD they were more than accommodating. PowerWorld in Granby, CO is by far the worst motorcycle dealer I've worked with in 30 years. I ordered a brand new 2019 701 Enduro ($12k) from them, and here's my story. This is the specific dealer I'm referring to. Buyer beware! 1. When you try to negotiate pricing, their sales motto is "This is how I feed my family, by commission on profit". Just understand that commission on profit is how their sales people get paid, so don't expect a great deal on your new purchase. Don't pay more money for your new machine based on any benefits or value-add this dealer might try to project. There is no value-add at this dealership. 2. New bike assembly was sloppy - loose screws/nuts (one screw ready to fall out), grab handles they installed weren't seated properly, and tie wraps on the handlebars that looked like they were installed by a third grader. Minor issues that I corrected myself (except for the grab handles) and then notified the dealer. I didn't ask for a thing - just reporting the issue. I've been riding for 30 years, I've purchased several bikes along the way, and I've never had to clean up a new bike assembly. 3. If you ask questions they don't want to answer, you'll just be ignored. Questions like: Did a Husky certified tech assemble my bike as requested? How many Husky certified techs work at your shop? Can I please have a parts/labor breakdown on the price you quoted that is 2x higher than any other dealer? It has been 30+ days since my Service request, can I please get an update? 4. If you report any issues, they won't take responsibility for anything. Even if you escalate to the GM, he just points the finger somewhere else and will call their paying customers a liar. 5. I contacted my sales guy to get a quote on some simple mechanic work (new business), which he forwarded to their Service Manager. Simply replacing two hydraulic lines with two longer lines to accommodate handlebar risers. I waited 3 full weeks with no response from the Service Manager. Long story short, they don't even have a Service Manager (Jeremy) at the shop any longer and nobody told me that during the entire process. They eventually pulled a number out of the air, would not provide a parts/labor breakdown, and their bogus price was 2x higher than any other dealer would charge for such simple work. The GM said they don't have experience in this area and to take my business elsewhere. So now I realize they don't even know how to work on the bike they sold me, and then they tell me to take my business elsewhere because they don't know what they're doing. 6. I called the GM to discuss and he went off. He was very confrontational/threatening and wouldn't let me get a word in. First try to discuss, he hung up on me. I called right back and our conversation consisted of me trying to discuss, and the GM just saying "you're a liar, you're a liar, you're a liar" over and over again like a kid throwing a temper tantrum. I maybe got two sentences out the whole time and I was very calm. Keep in mind, I just bought a brand new 2019 bike from these guys and I was actually trying to give them more business via Service (bad idea). They were all smiles when they took my money for the bike. Everything I've stated is true. Why would I lie when there's nothing in it for me in the first place? Update - 5-2-19 Since my 1-Star review, PowerWorld received two consecutive 5-Star reviews that do not appear to be related to recent business. Looks like they solicit 5-star reviews when somebody gives them 1 Star. I took my bike to a Husqvarna dealer who knows what they're doing and they confirmed the following: PowerWorld butchered the grab handle install so badly the fender and plastics will have to be replaced. PowerWorld did not install the front forks on the axle properly, which resulted in a dangerous riding condition due to limited fork travel. PowerWorld is the worst! read more

Don't buy anything from Power World sports in Granby, CO. I saw a 2012 ski-doo Summit 800 on their website and called, joe said that the was some front end damage and when I asked if an estimate for repairs had been done and he said "yes, it's about $1,000". I live 5 hours away and made the drive to look at it. When I got there the service dept. was closed so I couldn't make a deal including repairs so I made a deal $1000 under their asking price. They were even saying that looking at it it may even only need a motor mount bracket, about a $200 part. I took them for their word and bought the machine and took it home and dropped it at my local Ski-Doo dealer and had them do an estimate on the repairs. My local dealer estimated that it needed about $1500 in parts and $800 in labor to repair. It needed a full S and E Module, left shock and all the related items. I called Power World and they changed their story and said it was too costly to send it thru the shop and that they mis-spoke when they said they had done an estimate. They explained to me that since the shop is run separately from sales that they don't go to the expense of inspecting their used machines before they sell them. But they did sell me the parts at cost. Once work started it was discovered that the motor case was cracked at the motor mount, so the engine had to be pulled, opened up and welded. When they opened it the pistons had groves and most the reeds had long cracks and all needed replaced. This added $800 in parts and labor to the bill. Even with getting the parts at cost I will have over $2600 in repairs and Powerworld won't do a thing for me. Don't trust what these guys say, just head over the hill to steamboat, the Ski-Doo dealer there sells quality machines. Update: Even though I may have gotten a good deal that doesn't excuse Powerworld of wrong doing from stating there shop had gone thru it and estimated $1,000 in repairs, which was 100% false, the repairs were $2500 and that with getting parts at cost. It's really too bad they can't just admit they made a mistake and own up to selling a machine that should have been totaled and used for parts. Where's my $1,500 Joe. read more

I have a cabin in Granby and I can tell you that these guys are a mess. I have tried to purchase several machines/trailers and the deal always falls apart one way or another. I literally had cash in hand one time for a new 3 place trailer with my truck backed up to it and they couldn't get anyone to help me for 90 minutes so I had to leave. My most recent attempt to work with them was with a side by side purchase. They were about $500 over the price at SUN in Denver, and they told me that I should consider spending the extra money buying locally (Granby) so that they could support servicing the machine. I thought service and parts where where dealerships made most of their income?? My friend has purchased 6 or more sleds from PowerWorld and had all his service done through them in the past won't deal with them anymore. read more

Last Fall I searched and reviewed several places for boat storage after purchasing a home in Grand Lake and also a boat earlier last year. I was looking for a "one-stop" shop for my boating needs and building a relationship with a company that would offer everything I needed year after year, including winterization, storage, repair, maintenance & tune-ups, etc... I thought I had found that in Power World until an unfortunate experience I had with their company earlier this year. The more I thought about it, and being a business owner myself of a hospitality company, I felt I needed to share this information. As mentioned, earlier this year I went to Power World to get my boat out of storage and ready for use for the upcoming summer season. After receiving my boat it was very apparent to me that the hull and trailer had been clearly hit and cracked in several places by something very heavy while in their storage area. Prior to placing my boat in their storage facility it was in perfect condition. I spoke with Matt and his staff in their service department regarding the damage and was basically told that "Power World didn't cause it", and that "I must have dropped it off that way". Obviously, they can say that it is my word against their word regarding the damage to my boat, and needless to say I left there extremely disappointed with Power World's customer service and the way the matter was handled. No resolution, solution or apology was offered. I was just left to take my boat and get it repaired. Interestingly enough, they did paint over the dents/scratches on the trailer after I pointed it all out. As you know there are not a lot of companies in the Grand Lake area that provide quality boat service & repairs. I was left with the inconvenience and hassle of taking my boat to where it was purchased, Colorado Boat Center, for repair. Fortunately they were able to assist me, however the cost to repair the damage was $3,210.05. As you can imagine, this entire ordeal really didn't sit well with me. And knowing the size and popularity of their company, I find it shocking that Power World doesn't have a system in place, like marking down existing damage on a boat, and having them and the customer sign it, prior to putting it into storage. Not only would this protect their company, but at least the customer would be on the same page when the boats come in/out of storage. I am also disappointed that when it did happen and Power World had the chance, that Power World simply didn't choose to do the right thing with a customer and to right a wrong. I understand that mistakes are made. It is very unfortunate that this incident happened and now Power World has lost a paying customer that wanted to do business with them for years to come. They could have had a customer for life, and one that would speak highly of them and refer them to others. In my mind, customer service is of the utmost importance to a business; that's what keeps them coming back. Unfortunately Power World did not meet my expectations or standards in this regard. I am not writing this because I feel that I am owed anything or am angling for any kind of retribution. I just wanted future customers to be aware of it, so hopefully Power World could use as a learning tool and example moving their business forward. read more

Me and my son were riding single track in the Rand area and he smoked the clutch on his 2011 KX450F, so we looked up the closest Kawasaki dealer online. It was Power World in Granby. We got there and were one of two people in the store. The other person must have been a regular cause they went straight into chit-chat with him. We walked up to the service counter where there were two guys, a young very guy and a lady working. They were not busy and just talking among themselves. They made an effort not to make any eye contact and did not acknowledge we were even there. We waited ten minutes or so while they chatted among themselves and still got no response. So we went through the rest of the store looking for anyone to help us, service or anyone. We still did not see anyone else. We even looked out the side entrance for employees and had one guy say "hello" as he hurried past without helping. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because as we were leaving, the salesman (who was outside by our pick up) finally asked if we got what we needed. I said absolutely not and this was the worst service I've ever had in 37 years of riding. He escorted us back inside and finally got someone to help us. Turns out they didn't have the part anyway. That part I don't even care about! But it sure would have been easy to tell me that twenty minutes earlier instead of nobody drawing the short straw and pretending we weren't even in the store. So Thank you very much to the salesman who did help us out. And for anyone else looking to go in Power World, I hope you get the one guy that's willing to help you and not the FIVE other people that will dodge you like a curve ball. read more
