Walked in to the store as a friend was talking about the mix they made for salad dressing from here. The store was not so busy when we walked in with two personnel, one pointedly assigned to assist us. Variety of olive oil infused and balsamic vinegar with different flavors are available for tasting. Atmosphere is with helpful friendly personnel. Ended up with two base flavored olive oil to take home with me. One though more expensive as its specialty, black truffle, I can't wait to try for my salads. read more

Definitely worth the visit if you are in town! I walked in interested by the store and did not really know what to expect upon entering. As previous reviews have mentioned, Jenny was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She had an assortment of oils and vinegars and even offered to pair some oils and vinegars together so we could see how they tasted combined. I was super impressed with all of the oils and we even walked out with quite a few bottles. The truffle oil was definitely my favorite (and typically is), but I am excited to use my other selections in future dishes. read more

Inside the little mall area right by the river bridge. There are so many types of olive oils and balsamic vinegar flavors. You can sample as much and as many as you like. The balsamics have some very distinct flavors. I like jalapeno, espresso, coconut, pineapple, lavender and pomegranate. I thought this little shop was really cool & unique! They have all kinds of olive oils and balsamics (white, red, infused, etc.), and you can sample them all! There's a separate table that has pieces of bread for you to dip in the samples. They even have recipes posted throughout, so you have ideas of how to use them. Shortly after walking in, a very sweet lady greeted & asked us if we had been there before and told us about the products. She mentioned how everything has been aged for at least 12 years, except for the traditional balsamic, which has been aged for 18 years. Their traditional balsamic was really good. My girlfriend loved the Lavender Balsamic and the Infused Honey Ginger Balsamic. I'm sure you would love these if you like Lavender and Ginger, but unfortunately I'm not a fan in the first place. We stayed in the Cleveland area and made it back to the Alpine Olive Tree 5 or 6 times! Their olive oils and vinegars are the best we have ever had! I am so glad I stumbled on this gem close to the end of our trip! The Alpine Olive Tree offers a wide variety of infused olive oils and vinegars. The store owner was super friendly and you could absolutely see her passion for her products as she led me from one part of the store to another, pairing different olive oils and vinegars to make incredibly unique combinations. One of my favorites was the cilantro infused oil blended with coconut infused vinegar, I can't wait to have it on a salad! I ended up purchasing a 6 pack of 2 ounce samples for a little under $30. This store is ABSOLUTELY worth the trip, but they also offer online ordering. Go check em out! read more

SO AMAZING! I have never been to a store like this before. They have a menu full of all the different popular oil/balsamic pairings for you to go and try on your own. You pour a little oil of your choosing into a small cup, pour a little balsamic vinegar of your choosing, shake the cup, and taste test! Definitely a neat experience and we will 100% be ordering more of the oil and vinegars online. We purchased a large olive oil infused with basil, strawberry infused balsamic vinegar and apple infused balsamic vinegar. great service! i think her name was renee? she greeted my friend and i and gave us some pairings of vinaigrette to try. coming here was the most fun we had in helen (since tubing was closed). all the flavors we tried were really interesting. the butter oil is vegan and tastes great. me and my friend also liked the coconut vinaigrette but they're all very unique. there's probably something there for everyone unless your group has picky eaters. we went on a weekday so it was calm and not very busy. read more

I went in here because my sister had to get some truffle oil for her friend. I started trying the balsamics and they were so tasty! I don't really own any infused balsamics, so I really liked the pear balsamic. I ended up getting a light and dark balsamic, since they were so different. I chose the pomegranate for the dark, since the worker says it cooks well with steaks. I want to try new things so I'm glad we found a new recipe to try! The helper there was reallyyy helpful! She knew lots about the pairings for flavors and what goes well with the types of oils and balsamics. read more

My husband and I walked into this store yesterday really just to cool off a bit from the hot and humid temperature outside and with no intention of buying anything. The owner was so friendly and accommodating, encouraging us to taste anything and everything. I did, but not my husband! He's telling everyone, that I took in a quart of oil -- not true, but I think I could have. She mixed up several tastings of flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars for me. Unfortunately, the store was out of small and medium bottles, so I purchased a six bottle sample package. I chose 3 oils and 3 balsamic vinegars ($29.95). While my order was filled, I continued to sample my own pairings -- all of which were delicious. My one regret -- I couldn't take home one of every oil and every balsamic vinegar. Tonight, I'm going to have fresh strawberries with Bakdouti Green Chile Pepper Olive Oil and Strawberry Balsamic Vinegar. I also chose the Lemon Olive Oil to pair with Black Cherry Balsamic Vinegar and the Persian Lime Olive Oil to pair with Coconut White Balsamic Vinegar. This was my first visit to Alpine Olive Tree. The place looked really lovely, nice and comfy.. just like home! The owner or manager of the place was really friendly and attentive. Her assistant wasn't very friendly but she was willing to help. But I didn't want service from a unfriendly sales person. Other than that, it's like walking into a food tasting room. It reminded me of the ice cream factory I visited while I was in Guam a long time ago, went inside the ice cream factory and went inside the tasting room where you can taste all the different flavor ice cream. It was AWESOME!! This was a little bit similar to that time. There were different flavors of olive oils from dark chocolate flavors to fruity flavors near the entrance and behind *which was the other side* were the balsamic with different flavoring also. At the very corner of the store near the cash register there were a few different flavor of vinegar. I can tell you this.. the Sherry Wine vinegar.... had a very pungent odor.. and the taste was really really strong! I made a face when my siblings told me to try it.. Serrano Honey Specialty Vinegar - the taste was sweet.. just like honey with just a hint of vinegar taste. It was nice. Just like a dessert but in a vinegar form. Organic Red Wine Vinegar - nothing special about it. I thought it tasted just like the one I tasted before *not here obviously*. I tried the cranberry balsamic with the lime olive oil which the owner/manager mixed in for me. It was tasted SO amazing!! I didn't know it would taste so delicious together! She also mixed the basil olive oil with the strawberry balsamic.. honestly, you can taste both! It was fabulous!! It was so FULL of FLAVOR!! You must come to this place and try it for yourself! Gourmet Olive Oil: Black Truffle Oil - had a very rich, strong flavor. Infused Olive Oil: Blood Orange Infused Olive Oil: a slight taste of the blood orange.. not very strong of a flavor.. and it wasn't my favorite one. Ruby Red Grapefruit Oil: Mmmm.. this one was very delicious! It tasted really refreshing to my palate. Balsamic flavors: Wild Blueberry - 5/5 stars!! One of my favorite ones!! Dark Espresso - tasted just like coffee!! How'd they do that!? Dark chocolate - tasted just like chocolate syrup! Pomegranate - it was delicious!! Vanilla - tasted good but too sweet for my liking.. it would taste good while baking brownies or cake or something. Later, I saw a elderly couple buying a gift set. And they got various flavors of olive oils and balsamic. 6 bottles in each gift set. The gift sets were $26,95 each. I bought the small bottles of the wild blueberry balsamic and the pomegranate balsamic. Small bottle ($8.95 ea) Medium bottle ($14.95 ea) Large bottle ($24.95 ea) If you bring back your cleaned bottles next time, you can get the refill for a $1 off!!! Also, bought the self closing pour spout ($4.95). It comes in two colors: green and merlot red. I got the green one to match the color of my bottles. To clean the spout: Just wash in soapy water. The same way of cleaning the bottles, too. I'll definitely be back!! Next time!! read more

This place was great! You can taste test all of the oils and vinegars for free.... but boy after you taste some, you have to buy some! This felt a lot like wine tasting, but a lot more fun. The staff was wonderful and very knowledgable. I recommend getting the small gift set so you can taste test multiples at home. It will make date night exciting. Once you find what you like, it's poured out of a small vat into the bottle size of your choice. There are three sizes offered with the smallest bottle starting at $8.95. Only been to the Helen location once and was a bit disappointed in this location simply because it only had large bottles and not smaller ones. (I felt like it was a marketing comic to make you spend more, because really how do you run out of all the bottles but large you must do inventory and know that sells better) I really like getting the small ones and getting several different ones at a time versus one big one. However I love the selection of the olive oils and vinegars I will never buy store bought again. I much prefer the store in Dahlonega. My only recommendation is that they have small pieces of bread to sample the olive oil because it's very difficult to drink olive oil in a cup. read more
