The worst business exchange I have ever had in my entire life. I spent $10K on a hood for my restaurant. In total the job took over 5 months to compolete. I talked to others in the industry they tell me that the going rate to install a hood is $1000 per foot. George and the team at Alpine charged me $10k for the 6 foot. So the roof should have cost me $6000. I paid ten. On top of that George uses the WORST clowns in the industry to subcontract work to. From Jesse who drew up the plumbing plans and got them rejected by the city of long beach. He didn't really know what the hell was going on. To Raymond. Who codes all his blueprints to the city of LA. even though long beach has a very different code. He drew in a $6000 grease trap into my plans and an earthquake valve. That little error cost me an extra $460 IT ALMOST cost me and extra $6460. I had to fight the city for the plans in order to approve the small grease trap. George doesnt care though, Once he has your money YOU WILL NEVER SEE HIM ... Then he has the nerve to INSTALL THE WRONG fan on the roof. ANOTHER 2 week delay there. THEN after he sent people back again. (Mind you the contractor he sent was like 19 years old and didnt know his ass from his elbow. ) They uilt the exhaust too close to the vent ... then I had to call them BACK to move it. Plus the contractor he works with "Macco Construction" is over priced and just subcontracts work. Plus one time A check cashing place called me to verify a check for "Macco" What kind of reputable business man doesn't use a bank and uses a ghetto check cashing place. On top of that George added another $900.00 to my final bill and couldnt really explain what it was for. Also once you get his cell phone number, and your right and he knows he doesn't have a leg to stand on HE SIMPLY DUCKS YOUR CALLS. George is too busy making money on other projects more important than yours. George is responsible for the worst 4 months of my life! His shoddy subcontracting and "I dont care about your project because its small potatoes" attitude literally left me on the hook for 5 months paying rent for a store that would not open. To top it all off the oven he sold me had no racks in it. And the deep fryer he sold me GOES OUT mysteriously during a lunch rush. Oh on top of that I had to pay for MY OWN air uptake test ANOTHER $500! ( He only provided a test when his incompetent comany installed THE ENTIRELY WRONG Fan on my roof. My friend is in this business told me "He installed the wrong fan, thats about as incompetent as it gets" $10k is the biggest purchase I've ever made. Alpine was able to build to my specific specifications,and matched the tile backsplash. They had an issue with one table, but to their credit, took it back fixed it and even improved on the original design. They were always in contact, on time and their prices were on the mark. Gio was great to work with and we shared many laughs throughout the project. I have been working with Gilbert and his lovely family for 5 years now. I have bought everything from custom stainless steel tables to freezers to spatulas from Alpine. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I have been repeatedly over the past 5 years. Let me take a step back and break it down: 1) I have a very challenging kitchen space that needed a stainless worktop that would help me maximize the space. Gilbert and his team built probably the most durable stainless steel worktop I have ever owned. It is so solid, you could put a whole tank on it and it wouldn't move. 2) I needed a custom shelf for one of my tables to maximize space, and Gilbert and his team figured out a way to do it within my budget. 3) I bought a used freezer that they cover for 90 days in case if there are any issues - they honored that 90 day guarantee without any issues. I have had big name companies not honor their 1-year warranties and having Alpine honor a guarantee on a USED piece of equipment is the kind of peace of mind you cannot buy. 4) I could write a whole review about their movers and installers - those guys are the hardest-working and sweetest guys in LA. I love them, not to mention they are very entertaining to watch. Overall, I love Alpine. As long as I can, I will do business with them - there is something about a family-run business, you know they take pride in everything that they do. Thanks Melendez family! Seriously, Alpine is the best at metal work and refurbishing equipment. We've used them for years at both of our restaurants for all metal work. They've done some custom work and, like all their work, it's never disappointed. We recently took in some equipment and they refurbished it. The thing looks and operates like new! I was blown away. My only knock is they get busy (the sign of a company doing good work) and one time we had to use a competitor. I had to call Gio after the competitor left to fix the other company's work. Alpine fabricated a beautiful 12 ft. custom stainless steel sink with an integrated counter , drainboard and backsplash for me , almost 30 years ago, It was flawless , fit perfectly in the space , and was everything I had anticipated. It is still in my kitchen today. I went back to them recently to fabricate a similar sink and prep area for my office kitchen. They were able to customize an existing prep sink from one they had, which was the perfect solution both design and price wise for the project. Giovanni was very helpful and resourceful. He was still cheerful and accommodating after I told him what my (low) budget was for the project, and offered helpful solutions. This time around- I didn't have time to do detailed drawings, and gave Giovanni little more than basic measurements and a rough sketch. They completed the project on time and there was not one detail that they missed. All the seams and joins were perfect and 7 ft unit slid right into place. I would recommend Alpine to anyone. They were not super cheap, but they are very reasonable for the quality and reliability you need when you have to trust a company to complete custom work on schedule and for a price. read more

They sold us a used fridge that went down before it passed a year. It's only 3 mo. warranty for used items and there is a reason for it--it goes down very quickly. It doesn't matter how new it looks on the outside or what they say about the inside. It was not cheap either so we thought it would be a decent quality. However, guess what, they sold a complete junk to us and are acting very irresponsible with the outcome. Don't waste your money here. There is no after service nor an apology for their product. Bad customer service to take cherry off the top. Well, more like inconsistent customer service when you are purchasing it vs. when you are having an issue with their product. read more

I needed several pieces of stainless steel to satisfy our health inspector and they made them within a day. They also sell a wide range of restaurant equipment. Alpine is one of the Best places to shop for Restaurant equipment in LA. I opened a juice bar with all their equipment. They're quality is not only excellent but Customer Service is amazing. I bought a Freezer from them, after 3 months the glass top broke, they made sure that they made arrangements for the Manufacturer to come out and fix it ASAP, even after the Manufacturer denied my request originally. Ask for Giovanni, his customer service is truly Amazing. Junior, Myra & Norma are great as well.
