Hard to find reliable and trustworthy trade type businesses these days, but this is a good one…read more I was referred to Donavan by Toshiba customer service which made me feel good knowing he was a preferred provider. His schedule is busy, especially in the summer time, but he came and did the job. He mostly works on appliances such as stoves, washers, dryers and refrigerators but a mobile AC unit like Toshiba is similar to a refrigerator cooling system so he was able to do this work as well. He took the unit apart and checked everything and showed me everything. One of my hoses was slit at the base causing water to leak so he cut it and reattached it. It needed to be drained which was easy as well. Thankfully no mold build up etc. I've had these since 2020 and used them intermittently so the mileage on them was low and maintenance was minimal despite NOT having maintained these annually. He showed me how to remove the water and was in and out in an hour after thoroughly checking the unit. Not cheap but similar to annual heating function testing etc. He was on time, efficient, effective, taught me something and operated with integrity. I normally would vet a few options and choose one but since he came recommended by Toshiba I went with him and glad I did. Highly recommend him for mobile AC unit maintenance. Can't speak on all else but I did ask how long he's been in the game and he said 14 yrs so to me that's good enough practice to be a pro. Thank you Donavan! Hopefully I won't need to contact you again anytime soon! But if I do now I know who to call.

Unfortunately, my oven was not working. Even worst, it was…read morea holiday weekend. Thankfully, I was able to reach Donovan Appliance Repair. My call for help went out, and a response was quickly returned . He asked about the stove, the problem, and gave me a an estimate for how soon he would be able to help. He was professional and prompt. He figured out the problem, and install a new igniter to the stove. I was truly impressed by his timeliness, craftsmanship, and his professionalism. Just a Quick Pointer, there is a merchant fee for using a credit card. Thanks again Donovan, I am definitely going to keep your name in mind for future appliance repair projects.

This company charged me $1100 for parts and labor and the top oven parts have been sitting since…read moreJanuary 26, 2026. I am NOW seeing their reviews are AWFUL!!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY PURPOSE. I am in the process of serving them for Small Claims Court and filing with the Better Business Bureau. Pam in Inglewood.

I hired J&M Appliance Repairs to repair my refrigerator and paid a total of $360 for the service,…read moreas shown on the attached receipt. The technician stated that the repair included a 90-day warranty. However, the refrigerator stopped working again the same day and would not turn on. I contacted the company immediately, and the owner repeatedly told me that someone would come out to fix the issue under the warranty. Despite multiple scheduled appointments, no technician ever showed up. After several attempts to resolve the issue, the owner ultimately refused to provide a refund and told me to take him to court if I wanted my money back. I acted in good faith, was patient, and gave the business multiple opportunities to honor their warranty, but they failed to follow through. Additionally, based on my research, I was unable to find any valid license associated with this business. I have also found multiple complaints from other customers describing similar experiences on yelp, suggesting a long pattern of deceptive practices. I believe this business misrepresented their services, failed to honor their warranty, and may be operating without proper licensing."

Nick and Yuri were very responsive and their pricing for fixing my leaking dishwasher was fair…read more Yuri was polite and friendly, and while the repair ended up needing multiple trips (NOT their fault -- the odd parts had to be ordered and shipped), they still got it done quickly. I really appreciated that Yuri took the time to show me videos of the parts that weren't working, both before and after the repair. I would recommend them to anyone seeking appliance repair and will call them again in the future for my own needs.

This is turning into a public service announcement. I have no idea what these people are thinking,…read morebut now it's getting creepy. After I updated my earlier review (please see below if you're interested) I got a phone message from Nick asking me to call them so they could talk to me ... about what? You've already caused a problem and I stated why what you did was problematic. That should have been the end of it. Nope. There have been multiple calls (without leaving a message) after leaving the second message and now someone has showed up at my house to talk? Way beyond appropriate. Ladies ... if you live alone or will be home alone DO NOT HIRE these people! There are multiple boundary issues in my experience with them and now I'm worried I'll need to call the police out to get them to leave me alone, all because they're not happy that I chose to post calling them out for poor communication. Here is my original (and updated) review: Scheduled me for an appointment, then cancelled on me 10 minutes before the window started. Really not helpful as I could maybe have found someone else in the intervening 2 1/2 hours. Updating this after receiving a voice message from Nick who wants me to remove my review because it doesn't have anything to do with their work performance. Sorry, not going to do that. I've decided to update because the message that was left is indicative of very poor customer service/relations. First, according to Nick it's not their fault they had to cancel because they are very busy on Sundays. I don't have an issue with the cancellation but with how it was handled. And if you're so busy Sundays, then why not have your representative/phone service/AI Bot tell me that? The business chose to allow the appointment to be booked with no warning up front that it might be cancelled. 5 of the other 6 businesses I called flat out told me they had no openings. Your rep/service/bot could have done the same. Next, according to Nick it's not their fault they didn't cancel sooner because I didn't give a cell phone number so they couldn't text me. Seriously? Not everyone is glued to their cell phone and some of us live in areas where they don't work that well. Regardless of how this company performs once they get somewhere, communication is a big part of customer service. And poor communication is very relevant ... you need to be able to trust a company and it's people if they come into your home. I was displeased with being treated poorly regarding the last minute cancellation, but calling almost a week later to tell me why I should take down my review is a whole new level of irritation. Very glad they've shown their true colors so I don't make the mistake of possibly giving them a chance in the future. Updating to add a comment in reply to Stephan: Stephan, your words would carry more weight if they represented actual facts. Perhaps you just didn't bother to read what I wrote? I never said the cancellation was made during the appointment window and your time frame is flat wrong ... a call at 9:51am for a 10:00am appointment is about 10 minutes prior (as I stated on August 1) not 25 minutes before. Also, your statement about wanting to understand my concerns falls flat as I had already stated my reasons in the first update to the review on 8/1 ... but it appears that you never bothered to read it. You could have easily responded here instead of having someone make additional calls on 8/3 and 8/4 or showing up at my house on 8/7. Persistent? No, most people would say pushy at the least and highly inappropriate for the circumstances. And while you're welcome to run your business anyway you see fit, you need to understand that you were wrong multiple times in this episode, including attempting to subvert the platform by demanding that I remove the review in the first place. Saying you respect someone does not mean you do, and your actions have shown that you absolutely do not ... if you did, you'd have actually read my 8/1 update and responded here instead of continuing to harass me by phone or in person.
